Goodness me. I read #twotq a few weeks ago and still wasn’t able to process everything that happened, I’ve read twice more since then and I truly can’t find fault in it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 After reading this book I could only describe it as Venom meets Sorcery of Throne. I have yet to read a book by @margaret_rogerson that I didn’t absolutely love, and this one is now my favorite. How could it not be, with we have a protagonist that would rather die than interact with humans in the more relatable way possible. This book is so much more than a “she isn’t like other girl” story, it has heart and so beautifully written. One of the best books to come out of 2021. Is there a genre or an author you constantly go back even though you have move on? For me it is a teenage murder mystery and Karen M. McManus. I have read every book she published and have loved them all. This one is no exception. It was slightly not my taste but still worth the read. McManus has a formula when it comes to writing and I can’t get enough of it and her books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I received a lot of historical romance novels for Christmas and I am not mad about it. This story blow me away. I love a good mystery and a snarky protagonist and a worthy opponent as a love interest. The romance is lovely and the mystery is thrilling. I devoured this book as quickly as possible. I sadly didn’t know this was a second in a series when I brought it but I will have to amend that and go back and read the first. First read of the year goes to…. HEART OF CINDER ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Heart of Cinders took me on a ride, and sometimes the ride wasn't the best. While overall I enjoyed the story, I felt at times it fell a little flat, it dragged too long, yet the scenes I would have liked to have more of cut too short. The world-building was a bit confusing and hard to understand, but I loved every character, my favorite being Gus or the King. The fight scene just felt a bit too long and then everything else happened very quickly, the ending was a cliffhanger and I shouted out in frustration,(the good kind). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Wow just wow. I knew I was going to love this book,but I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. Brigid Kemmerer is one of my favorite writers so I had to have this book immediately. I brought a signed copy for @thebookishbox and I was not disappointed in the amazing cover. But back to the book it’s self. The story is so beautiful crafted and the world is so real it is almost like I was there. The plot reflects so much of our own lives right now with the pandemic and I loved every moment of it. The story was so captivating and I couldn’t put it down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars This is such a cute little romantic YA. The two leads are so amazing and I loved how they were written. And I am a sucker for a good LBGTQ story. With that being said, this book did make me wonder if I was getting to old to be reading books on this side of YA. While it’s a beautiful story it is riddled with cliche you can see from a mile away. I’m much too old to be invested in two high schoolersromance. And the ending? Goodness me, don’t get me wrong the ending is wonderful, but it feels rush and it left me waiting a bit more. Tree of Matchsticks is officially out today and you won’t regret picking this book up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I had to give this book 6 out of 5 stars because it was genuinely so amazing. I went through so many emotions while reading this book and I am so sad that it’s over. The characters grew so much and I know they can only get better from here. So much was revealed and now we have more questions and the twists. I didn’t see them coming I tried to pick them out before but I can’t do it. Between the romance, friendship bonds and twist this book had me from the moment I started. Elisa is absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait to read more from her. This is one of the best reads of 2021. As I am reading the last book in the series I realize I never posted about Night of Matchsticks. So excuse the late post. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars I loved the first book in the series and I not so patiently wanted for this one and I was not disappeared. This book we got to dive deeper into the world and the characters and I fall deeper in love with them( Jack is still my #1). This book had me on the edge of me seat and I read it in under 2 hours, I couldn’t put it down. Learning more about the collector and everything little puzzle piece. This book keeps you so interested and the diversity is so well written. So many times in books it’s obvious that it’s forced but it’s all nature in this series and I can’t not wait to read more by Elisa. Lucky I only have a few more chapters left of the third installment which I will be posting about tomorrow. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🔥🔥🔥🔥/4 This book is my favorite in the FBAA universe. I didn’t think it was possible to top TCOTGB but here comes this book blowing me away. Ash and Sera are now one of my favorite book couples and I love their relationship, even if it is in the very very early stage. I love the story, and I loved seeing thing that might have been a bit unclear in the sister series being clearer. This book, like all in the FBAA universe, ended on a cliffhanger, but a great one that has gotten more even more excited for the next book in this series and TWOTQ.
