vying for the most boring tumblr user award yet again but I realised today I could put my entire winter/fall wardrobe in vacuum bags instead of just at the back of a closet or in a box somewhere and the sweaters especially now take up 1/3 of the space they did AND they're not getting dusty or damaged by animals. I don't know why this isn't the standard thing to do/why I didn't think of it before. Ideal.

it's crazy how many things used to contain lead. Apparently candles until the early 2000s would release 5x over the child safety standard into the air when burned. Imagine living next to a busy road with people who liked to light candles in the 70s. you'd be breathing lead all the time.
#and then the leaded pipes!#people might have similar feelings about our use of plastic in hm. 50 years if things go unexpectedly and exceedingly well#but let me focus on lead for now. it's largely not present. very calming.

found out about halfway through removing many large nettles that the gloves i was wearing in fact don't protect you from nettles. 😐👍
#i am however ridiculously insensitive to nettles. i was in the middle of pulling a huge one when i thought hm....my fingers. they tingle.#pulled off the gloves and saw a number of red small welts#but those have already subsided on their own 30 min later so you can't see it tbh#however. my fingertips. they tingle a little occasionally. not unpleasantly so. but like. present#definite reminder to change gloves (which i did)
