I think it's so important that Arlecchino was a child once.

I don't think a single other character has really embodied what it's like to grow up under someone else's tyranny and decide: not me. Not my children. No more. The violence, the refusal to respect a system that had ignored and failed you. Just. God.

I think Nahida and Wanderer also had elements of this - Nahida having to exist without and later kill her mother, and Wanderer with his host of issues - but neither of them leaned into avenging the lost childhood quite like Arlecchino has. She decided to tear down and remake her childhood home into a Kingdom of Children, as Lyney put it, and it's clear that their wellbeing is the most important thing.

She's constantly trying to get Freminet and other children to value their own lives and pursue their own interests, and she'll just kill anyone that challenges that. You can't convince me that Arlecchino didn't murder the previous director. Like, there's just no way.

Arlecchino is the Father of the House of Hearth, but she's also a member of it. I think that's why Lyney and Lynette and Freminet have such an unwaveringly positive opinion of her. She is one of them, and she has proven it, and she will continue to prove it.

She was a child once, and she's going to lead all the other children to avenge themselves

A few short laughs, nothing more, with nobody but Diluc and the cat to hear it.
