Unfortunately due to the circumstances of the virus, Anime Boston has been cancelled for this year. It’s a sad thing to hear, but their decision makes sense for the safety of con goers. I look forward to AB2021 that much more! And I’m not decided on it, but I may go to ANYC again this year.

My “Super Secret Surprise for Saturday” was Punishment Cop Akira/Ren! I had a lot of fun at AnimeNYC! It was great meeting so many persona fans and others!

So I’m back from AnimeNYC (and I’m incredibly exhausted), but before I put up photos I wanna describe a cute thing that happened to me on Friday.

So I was dressed as good ol Akechi on Friday, and in the afternoon I was strolling through the dealers hall with my friends. I saw a really good Pidge cosplay about 20 feet away. They did a really good job with the paladin armor and I wanted to ask them to take a photo, but I didn’t have the time so I admittedly stared a bit to appreciate it while I could. At some point I realized they were staring back and then got really exited when we made eye contact. I guess they also really liked my cosplay, and I had hoped they might come over to say hi at least. They didn’t come talk to me, but it was still a great moment. I hope they had an amazing rest of their con!!

Here’s a quick sneak peak for my next cosplay. I’m almost done with it, and it will be premiering at ANYC this November. I’ll be wearing this on Friday and Sunday, and on Saturday I have a special surprise. There will be plenty of pictures; so please look forward to it!  (งòωó)ง

HOW TO SEW SLEEVES WITHOUT WANTING TO MURDER EVERYTHING: A TUTORIAL

Someone asked that this be rebloggable so HURR YOU GO

Some patterns are really dumb in telling you to finish the body of an outfit, then finish the sleeve, then attach a circle to a circle. It’s possible to do, and once in a while it’s necessary, don’t get me wrong, but unless you have a lot of experience it’s sometimes very aggravating trying to evenly distribute the sleeve around the “hole” cut out for it and match up the seams under the armpit!

(Please note…some patterns, especially to achieve tailored looks, require you to do it the traditional way. Don’t use this method for fashion school assignments or super-complex garments as it will probably screw up the way it ends up fitting in the end. This is mostly for the use of cosplayers to make their job a little easier.)

For Sunday we were in casual wear (minus our matching Yuri and VIktor jackets I bought us for Christmas) and mostly just hit up the dealers room and artists alley. I bought a lot this year (but honestly I think I bought more last year). So here are a couple of my pride and joys. The keychain is double sided (I had a video to show it but tumblr is weird about videos). I got a really cute print of Himiko Toga from Boku no Hero Academia. And of course @noirxcosplay bought a print of my #1 husbando for my birthday (●♡∀♡))ヾ☆*。

Saturday morning we had breakfast at Starbucks. We met two other Bungo cosplayers (an Atsushi and Akiko) and we had breakfast with them before taking some pictures together. We saw them again later that evening at the Dead Apple premier, which was a blast!! I snuck a silly photo of @noirxcosplay in the elevator back to our room.We went back to Wagamama for dinner again; this time I had the chicken ramen - which was really good (with the bamboo on the side). On the way back I saw an abandoned amiibo box in the recycling bin (lol). Late night Saturday we went to the hentai amvs in our kigurumis to have a good laugh. That about wraps up Saturday for us at AB.

I, uh….had priorities on day one (lol). I’m too prepared for the cosplay I’m doing for NYCC or AnimeNYC (still not sure which my friend and I are going to). I’m in the process of making my cosplay for it which you can probably guess what it is. I had lunch later at Au Bon Pain and it was really good!! After getting dressed as Kouyou I saw an Easter Chrom (he was rather handsome) and he gave me an easter egg. I died a little inside. @noirxcosplay and I went to dinner at Wagamama, which was great! I had the Katsu curry and it was sooo good! Then we returned to the room to plan what to do on Saturday.

That’s a good summary of my Friday at AB this year <3
