Hey everyone! It's, uh, it's certainly been a minute.

If my brief return a few months ago and then radio silence yet again is any indicator, I'm sure most of y'all probably know where this is going.

HOMECOMING, as of now (and for the indefinite future) is going to be on hiatus, and maybe discontinued.

This project initially started out as a silly idea, a culmination of my love for the yandere vn community and the wonderful games it has created, and my original plot and cast of characters. In the beginning, I was trucking along, working on scripts, planning out routes, spending hours of research on coding and how to get this thing up and running. Not to mention, the attention my silly lil project garnered was a lot. At least to me. I've had a semi popular writing blog before, and was no stranger to inbox asks, and how they pile up, or the notes that popular posts can get.

I was far too ambitious in all honesty, and once the glitz and glamor of a new project wore off, I hit a massive wall. Hard. It seemed that to actually work on HOCO was much like pulling teeth - whether it was writing, drawing, or even *thinking* about it, I found myself sinking further and further into a imposter syndrome of sorts.

And well, I guess making this announcement is sort of proving it right.

Even so, I've always known when to take a step back, when to settle down -- and now, I'm just making it official. I owe you all at least that much.

The blog will be staying up - I have no plans to delete it in the slightest. I'll just log out of it most likely - I'll still be around on my personal tumblr, where I'll hopefully start being more active there again.

Nothing could have prepared me for just how much care, how much love you guys have shown HOCO - so much so, it's still hard to believe. All the fanart, the fanfic, the memes - they're all saved to my phone, in their own album. Thank you to all who have made amazing creations for my silly characters, as well as the countless asks y'all have sent - maybe one day I'll be able to answer all of them.

I really hope one day I can return to this project with fresh eyes -- I'm hoping real, substantial time away from it will help that process. There are other, personal projects that I've been doing that have helped that creative spark again, as well as indulging in traditional fandom activities, mostly fanart. Unfortunately, I think it's safe to say that my time in the Yan VN community is over for the time being, at least until/if I start working on HOCO again. (Or whenever I play the latest updates of 14DWY - I am the Leon Fan Club President after all ^^).

I've been rambling too long, and I think it's time to close this chapter for now. Thank you all again - and one last Henry for the road. They were there since the beginning of HOCO in 2019, so it feels right for them to be here at the end.

I made the front page (for my college classes) of my favorite blondies ♡ (with their corresponding OC of mine)

I am not normal in the least about Lynde from @in-your-dreams-vn so, 2 FP one alone and one with Sage since they are so cute together and OMG I just can't- I love how they interact and how Sage would tease the hell out of each other.

And the other one is my forever love, Henry from @homecomingvn. Also an alone one, and another with Avery where they are both mer!people. Avery would be a mermaid with their color scheme but OMG! Selfie Henry is so fucking cute I love this unhinged bastard, tell them to stop.

Does Sandy have a crush on the MC?

Sort of! A lot of Sandy's feelings towards you very much toe the line on being really friendly or just on the cusp of being romantic. In Sandy's case, she sometimes struggles with compartmentalizing feelings and often gets romantic / platonic ones confused (much like Henry, but just not as intense ^^;).

A majority of her route is her realizing that her feelings towards you have always been there <3

Absolutely! This goes for all the cast btw - if you explicitly say that you're not into them or are only attracted to the opposite gender(s), they'll back off in terms of a romantic relationship!

That's not to say that a very intense friendship is completely off the table tho... >:3

I was just wondering how would the romanceable characters would react if MC wasn't into what they like in the bedroom. Would that change their relationship ? Or they would broke because of a lack of compatibility in their preferences ? Thanks !

Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words , I'm glad you're liking the game so far! :3

As for your question, genuinely the only person who might struggle with this prospect is Lyra. She has very strong preferences for the bedroom, so if there was something you didn't want to do that she wants to, she'd struggle initially to switch things up from what she usually likes to what you like. While it would take a hot min to adjust to, it's not something she would break up with you over (in fact, I don't think there's anything you can do that would make her resort to that).

And who knows, maybe along the way your preferences could eventually become Lyra's as well. She's awfully persistent after all :3c

HENRY: Would look / watch moreso out of curiosity. Fave categories would be creampies, masturbation, and fingering.

LYRA: Occasionally dabbles but mostly does it when she's bored - would be into BDSM, Fem Dom, and Double Penetration.

ELIJAH: Wouldn't really wanna watch or look at any - makes him pretty uncomfortable! He'd rather just be with you <3

SANDY: Fairly comfortable with watching / looking and indulges somewhat regularly! Fave categories would be bondage, threesomes, and cosplays.

BONUS - NICO: Indulges the most out of the cast. Fave categories would be MILFs, pegging, and gangbangs.

What all jobs can we decide to have in game?

I've answered this before somewhere, but I'll just reiterate here again! ^^

There are 4 job paths you can choose in game, those being:

Rewind Rental - You're a clerk, checking out customers' items and stocking up on movies, games, and records.

Grace's Diner - You're a waiter / waitress, serving your patrons a variety of homestyle cooking, collecting tips wherever you can.

Community Pool - You're a lifeguard, days spent in the sun as you watch over patrons, ensuring the highest quality fun and safety.

Camp Amber Creek - You're a camp counselor, your hands full of rowdy kids as you provide both a safe and fun environment to all your campers.

Henry will also work alongside you at whatever job you choose, but there are others you will work with as well, such as:

Nico at Rewind Rental.

Sandy at Grace's Diner.

Lyra at the Community Pool.

And Elijah at Camp Amber Creek.

Good question! For Lyra, when it comes to 'wiping' the playing field, it's all about raw power. Lyra has a need / want to dominate others - whether that be through intimidation or through having a 'sexual' advantage. Not to mention, these hookups mean genuinely nothing to her - if anything, she views them as practice almost, so she can be the very best for you ^^

Any ideas for what a modern au would look like? Would the characters be any different do you think? If yes, how so?

I love modern au stuff, I definitely need to post some of the art I made for it at sum point :3c On to your question tho -

HENRY: Fairly similar for the most part, biggest change I can see is him being obsessed with modern technology, especially social media and the like. Big fan of tik tok for sure! For sure cried when One Direction broke up.

LYRA: I see Lyra staying the same personality wise, but instead of her trad goth look I can see her having a more mall goth look (definitely a prospect I wanna draw soon hehe). On that note, would absolutely adore Hot Topic and would probably work there!

ELIJAH: Barely any change at all if I'm being honest - still very down to earth, so much so that he'd still have a flip phone while all of his friends have smart phones. A hint of weeb - big fan of Dragon Ball Z.

SANDY: BIG GAMER - has a massive pc set up that she put together herself! Still runs DnD sessions but moreso over discord! Has a whole server for it and everything, one you definitely have a invitation too.

BONUS - NICO: Definitely a reddit lurker - always lurking in replies of anything and everything. Has sent you at least a few dozen 'kys' on twitter LOL. Would still work at a record store or something along those lines. If not that, I also see him being a bit of neet :3c

I'm sorry if this is strange, and feel free to ignore it ofc!! but I was wondering if Henry would be okay with an S/o/Mc who wants a big family? I know for sure Lyra doesn't want to have kids (if I remember correctly), but I can't remember Henry's stance on it!

While it's not his main preference, if you want a big family, then Henry would be more than down for that! He may struggle with having to compete for your attention, but as long as you're happy, they're happy too ^^

Also yes you're right abt Lyra! She's willing to sacrifice / compromise on a lot for you, but children are a very hard no for her - she's not budging on that at all :3

Sorry if this has been asked before but will there be anyway we can possibly pursue a romantic relationship with nico? I want them to date me so bad 😫‼️

As of right now, a Nico route isn't really in development unfortunately! I've mentioned it before but I like to keep the amount of LI's an even number - so unless I somehow weasel another one in alongside Nico, a romance route for him isn't really planned ;w;
