June is here once again and @ih8harley and I have decided to do a repeat of last year's event to celebrate High School Story Prime's LGBTQIA+ characters and all LGBTQIA+ creators within our community! This time around we have decided to include the gift exchange from past events since everyone seemed to enjoy it:

What is a gift exchange?: it's an anonymous gift-giving event!

How does it work?: You can sign-up through Google Forms using this link and answer some questions. Then, you will be assigned a fellow blogger and you'll have to come up with a gift!

The form will be open until June 15th. Harley will then reach you via Tumblr with further instructions, so be sure to check your DMs!

The gift exchange reveal will happen June 30th, 12PM CST!

Hello and welcome! @cadybear420 and @lover-also-fighter-also are hosting Emma Hawkins Appreciation Week 2025! But we need your help determining the dates!

It's confirmed in canon that Emma's birthday is on August 9, so the appreciation week will definitely include that. However, we're not sure when in the event her birthday should be: at the beginning, middle, or end. So we've decided to put it up to vote!$

Welcome to Choices April Challenge 2025

This time of year is symbolic of second chances, emotional growth, unexpected reunions, and reflection on what should have happened. This month's challenge invites you to explore renewal in all its forms—emotional, romantic, personal, or fantastical—through the lens of your favorite Choices characters and books.

Prompts:

After the Storm. A character returns home after everything has changed.

“I thought I’d never see you again.”

A reunion or relationship no one saw coming.

Spring Cleaning. A character finds something that sparks memories.

What If… They Never Broke Apart?

Your OTP finds their way back to each other.

The Letter They Never Sent or a secret confession that changes everything.

New Hair, New Me: A small change symbolizes something bigger.

Set your fic during springtime, where nature mirrors emotion.

Submission Guidelines:

Fanworks from all Choices books/series (and Pixelberry) universe are accepted.

You may submit any form of fanwork: fanfiction, fanart, headcanons, moodboards, edits, text fics, fan videos, playlists, etc.

Mention @choicesapril2025 in your post. Feel free to also tag my main @liaromancewriter.

Specify the prompt(s) used in the header, as well as book/series, characters/pairings; rating and genre/category if applicable.

All fanworks must be new, and anything posted before April won’t be accepted.

Late submissions will be accepted until May 3rd.

Prompt Use:

You can participate as many times as you can/want, including multiple submissions for the same prompt.

Use the prompts whenever you like and however you like. It’s not about a specific word but rather the creativity it inspires.

Feel free to mix and match/use prompts in the same fanwork; include this info in your header for reference.

Warnings and Labels:

HSS Appreciation Week 2025: Official Masterlist + What's next going forward!

Thank you to @choicescommunityevents for helping promote this!

First, a message from host @cadybear420:

I want to start off by once again giving a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this event. As the Choices/Pixelberry fandom has been shrinking, it always saddened me that Choices HSS seemed like it'd become one of the more relatively niche sub-fandoms. While it may be one of the more "vanilla" titles, there's still a lot of heart and effort that has gone into it.

The MCs and main casts of HSS generally tend to unify the community of Berry High, bringing together students of all types. And with this event, my goal was similar– to bring people together for some well-deserved HSS Appreciation. Whether you're more of a HSS Prime fan, a OG Choices HSS fan, a HSS:CA fan, or not as familiar/involved with HSS... it's been fantastic to see everyone give some love to this series one way or another. I can say for sure that this event was indeed a success.

Hi all

First of all, a huge thank you for all the people who have contributed to this HSS appreciation week and have made it a success through their artwork/edits/writing.

It's been really amazing to see that this series is still well loved and received by many members of the HSS fandom and it has been wonderful to interact with you all and to bring us all together with common ground.

What to look out for in the future:

HSS Appreciation Week 2026!!!

HSSAW 2026 will likely take place around the same dates as this year's event did, but that's not for certain. We'll try to have the next year's event dates announced by the start of November.

Character-Specific Appreciation Events!

An Emma Hawkins Appreciation event for 2025 (event blog still pending) will be taking place on August 9, her canon birthday!

Aiden Zhou Appreciation Week 2025 ( @aidenzhouappreciationweek ) will be taking place sometime in October! The events dates should hopefully be announced by the start of August.

Maria Flores Appreciation Day 2026 ( @mariaflores-appreciation ) will take place on February 3, her canon birthday!

hello! i’m happy to share with you my high school story + hollywood u archive. these are spreadsheets containing screenshots and/or the pdf files of the in-game quests:

they are better displayed on desktop (or in the sheets app). this is a work in progress. it will be constantly updated until both games are fully archived. i have screenshots of most of high school story’s quests, but i’m still working through them. as it is, i have catalogued the main questline for both games.

i have also archived the original android .apk for both games back when the servers were shutdown in 2022. high school story is fully playable, while hollywood u is not due to a server check. you may download them via archive.org:

general instructions/clarifications:

in the spreadsheet, you'll be able to consult the level, name, release date and summary of the quests, along with the link for the pdf of the .lua file. for the screenshots, click on the quest name.

high school story has both screenshots and the pdf files for its quests;

hollywood u only has pdf files; i wasn’t able to get the screenshots while the game was still running, unfortunately;

hollywood u’s main questline is incomplete since the last three quests were not stored locally, so i do not have the files for them, sadly;

this also means some side quests for hollywood u will be unavailable since everything around august 2016 was stored in the server and not locally anymore;

for high school story, i was unable to play some side quests as they were very time specific (e.g. world cup) or they were exclusive partnerships (e.g. lea michelle, monster high, one direction). for those, i will include only the pdf files;

the pdf files are not complicated to read/make sense of, but tell me if you need help or want me to go in depth into the tags.

please, if you're able to provide me with the missing release dates for hollywood u or ANY release date for high school story, do not hesitate to dm me. the same applies for the missing hollywood u quests. i have made a list of them here.

A/N: This is my first poem. It was inspired by this lovely piece that was made for me by @gmsrrn98. Using season-themed metaphors for Evie was so perfect that I ended up writing this.

Summer was gone. And with it, so was the familiar warmth of her old home, her old friends, her old school.

All the beautiful, colorful leaves that surrounded her, that she was familiar with, that had grown onto her…. now all gone. All stripped from her by the harsh, swirling winds. Leaving her empty, lifeless, lost, alone. Yet she had also shedded many pieces of herself that were now old and dying, leaving her bare and seemingly lifeless and empty… but ready to grow again. Soon enough, she would bloom with new blossoms, but still maintaining who she was at her core, all the way down to her roots.

Ripped from her home, ripped from her stability… ripped from her roots, her tree, the very place from where she was grown. Swept away by the cold, harsh winds and jostled about to a strange new elsewhere. Yet she was also freed from a restrictive life, freed from being bound down to one single place on the tree, and swept away to a life possibly more exciting.

The calm, earthy greens of her old school had faded into brilliant juicy reds, crisp golden yellows, bold tiger oranges. The greens were more familiar, more grounding… but admittedly, they could get boring after a while. The reds and yellows and oranges almost seemed more dry, more somber, like the colors of the sunset… but they were also exciting, invigorating, and most of all, a refreshing change of pace.

The change is so unusual, so chilling, so jarring, so terrifying. But this new stage of life is necessary. And as she leaves behind this previous stage, Autumn simply greets her. It is kind to her. It welcomes her. Tells her “Hey, you must be new! I love your look!”, and then captures a yearbook photo of her standing in front of the majestic mascot statue of her new school. Cementing that perhaps she does have a place in this new world.

She steps into the harsh cold and the welcoming warm simultaneously, just as she did on the day of her birth. It was always cold at first. But soon, Spring would arrive, and she would bloom with new branches, new blossoms, new loves. All more bold and vibrant than ever before. And oh, how she wants to hold onto them forever.

But she couldn't hold onto it all forever. Some of it, maybe, but not all of it.

Summer was free, it was fun, it was bright. But sometimes it would scorch her. And thus the crisp and cooling Autumn would be all the more welcomed.

But the cold bitterness of Autumn and Winter were not gone. They would never be truly gone. They would return soon enough. She would go through it all again. It wouldn’t be the same as the last, but she would still find herself shedding older, dying pieces, to make way for new growth. She would still find herself ripped from her comfort zone, and expanding her boundaries. Again and again.

This wasn't necessarily new, this was how it has always been. It was just somewhat different each time. Some Winters would be more freezing than others. Some Summers would be more burning than others.

No matter how many times she's done this, it would still be difficult for her to get used to. Even when the world wasn't being as harsh towards her, kinder towards her... there were going to be moments where it would be painful– moments where it would be scalding, moments where it would be bitter, moments where it would be just plain exhausting.

But she would learn how to cool herself off. She would learn how to warm herself up. She would learn how to manage the unkind weathers. Sometimes with more difficulty, sometimes with more ease.

No season was perfect. No season was “better” or “worse” than the rest. But Evie would make the best of each one however she could.

This is life. And Evie would make the best of all of hers.

February 3rd, 2025 marks the day when Maria would officially be celebrating her birthday (as determined here), and would be turning 24 years old as per canon! Let's take this day to celebrate our hot-headed, perfectionist, and our most favorite and loved Class President!

We of course do apologize for introducing this event incredibly late, but worry not! You don't have to submit your creations on February 3rd! Submit whenever you like! We'll be accepting submissions until the end of the 2025 year.
