Peter: so, i got banned from the training compound because i’m apparently “just a kid” and “reckless” and “Parker”
Peter: that last one’s just my name, but you should hear it the way Mr. Stark says it

the thing about tony stark right, is that his origin story is so obviously a set up for a villain. he’s a playboy billionaire who gets blindsided and kidnapped by a mentor/father -figure, and killed for coin. his actual parents are murdered when he’s 17. he’s been ostracised and strung up for the entertainment of others his entire life, and he could’ve gone bad at any time
he could’ve gone bad during his MIT days when he finally escaped from under his father’s thumb and experienced the world without the pressure of Howard Stark, he could’ve gone bad at 17 when he became an orphan and suddenly had to manage a conglomerate, he could’ve gone bad at any point during his widely successful career at a weapon’s manufacturer because the whole world called him the Merchant of Death, he could’ve gone bad after Afghanistan when he found out that he’d been betrayed beyond belief
but he always makes the choice to do good
even when faced with real and valid reasons to say fuck it and go rouge, tony’s actions are guided by his morality and his desire to do good in the world
and i just think that makes him such a compelling character

Hmm actually Lucy Gray is different from Haymitch and Katniss and Peeta because her tragedy is she caused the games to continue. If the games hadn't become entertaining, they wouldn't have continued and she made it entertaining because she was an entertainer - she saved herself but she doomed dozens more because she performed too well and it allowed the Capitol to make the games a performance in the later years. Haymitch's tragedy is that he couldn't end the games, Lucy Gray's is that she continued them.

Can you imagine being 12 years old and sent to live with your criminal great uncle for the summer because your parents are divorcing and you learn not only that the paranormal is real, your great uncle faked his death and took on the identity of his estranged twin brother who is trapped in another dimension and you didn’t know existed, and there’s an all powerful demon targeting your family specifically, but also your estranged great uncle has almost definitely fucked the triangle demon in a messy situationship
