How Scaramouche would comfort you after a nightmare.

Ok so I'm going to have a go at writing this short fic, please bear in mind this is my first time ever writing a fic so it won't be perfect.

Scaramouche/Wanderer

Jolting awake from your restless sleep, your breathe comes out in short and desperate gasp of air. The room around you is dark, almost giving off an unwelcoming or threatening aura, further adding to your anxiety.

Suddenly, you feel a familiar hand on your shoulder, contrasting to the unnerving feeling of pure fear consuming you.

"Are you...ok?" Scaramouche asks, sitting himself on on the bed, his hand still resting on your shoulder. His brows are furrowed as he focuses intently on your face, taking in every detail.

"Scara..." You mutter, voice quivering. You lean into his touch and close your eyes. "I'm okay, I just...had a nightmare, that's all."

Your boyfriend stays silent for a moment, before gently pulling you into a hug. You sink into it, burying your nose In his neck.

"Do you um, want some tea?" Scaramouche whispers comfortingly. His tone is soft, as if he is afraid to frighten you even more.

You hum in response, a smile threatening to tug at the corners of your mouth. The way he is always so clueless on how to comfort you always amuses you.

"Stay here okay princess? I'll be back with that tea you like." He swiftly gets up, ruffling your hair before walking into the kitchen.

A few minutes pass, and Scaramouche finally emerges from the kitchen with a cup of freshly brewed herbal tea. "Drink up ok? I made sure to add honey as well." He hands you the cup, careful not to spill any.

"Thank you." You say before you begin to sip the sweet beverage. Scaramouche sits beside you on the bed, wrapping his arm around you, nudging you close enough for you to hear his calm breathing against your ear.

"Do you want to go back to sleep?" He suggests.

"No, I honestly don't think I'd be able to." You chuckle as you lean into him. He nods, and his expression shifts, you could only guess he has come up with an idea.

"Take my hand." He smiles, reaching his hand out to you reassuringly.

You place the tea cup down onto the nightstand and reach for his hand. The feeling of his warm hand against yours makes your heart flutter uncontrollably. "Where are we going?" You tilt your head when he starts to lead you towards the front door.

"You'll see. Trust me." An affectionate smile creeps onto his face, and you return his gesture with an even brighter smile.

You gaze in awe at the mesmerizing sky before you, unsure what to say. "Darling, how did you find this? Its...something else."

"I was waiting for the right moment to show you it, and now is that time." Scaramouche lets his eyes wander to you, "I'm glad you like it."

The midnight sky above the two of you is like a blanket of sea Ganoderma and amethyst, dotted with thousands of amber and white fireflies that cast bright reflections in Scaramouche's eyes, causing his eyes to quite literally twinkle.
