STAYING MOTIVATED WHILE WRITING YOUR EE
hello friends! I am writing to you guys as my ee deadline is quickly approaching. I have compiled a list of things that have helped me:
1. Picking a topic that interests you. I love my topic, it’s the easiest way to stay motivated. You’re researching something you’re interested in. It will feel less excruciating to research if you love the topic
2. Time management. I finished my EE draft over the summer which helped me stay on track and have plenty of time to tweak my ee
3. contacting your advisor. I know that this is hard especially if you have an advisor with lots of students or an advisor that just doesn’t care. Contact the advisor when you need help with organization. I wish that I didn’t wait so long to ask my advisor to help.
4. Ask friends to peer review. This is very helpful especially if you’re afraid of an adult reviewing it. Asking IB alumni to review is the best thing!
5. Finally, TAKE BREAKS!!! do not try to write your ee in one night!! Its so much easier to write a few sentences a day than 4000 words plus citations in one night
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

IB Discussion
Hello Everyone! I hope this post finds you in a well mental state. School for me has started again for me and I am proud to be a M21 diploma candidate. This is an open discussion for anyone who wishes to repost with their comments and concerns for the May 2021 session or even the November session of this year.
I am going to class online and my concerns are about the M21 grading as well as if I am learning what I need to know in full.
Please feel free to leave sources (educational or mental health) that have helped you during this time!

IB M20 Results Discussion!
Mod Vanilla here. Hi everyone! I hope everyone here is doing well today. It’s results day! I hope that everyone is satisfied with their results. if not, these numbers do not define you, you are a whole person with aspirations and talents! This year was hard for M20 candidates for a number of reasons, being out of school, being graded mainly on an IA, and overall just world stressors. Do not feel bad!
I got my results back for Psychology SL and Spanish B SL. I am anticipated. (: I will be getting my diploma results back next year.
Feel free to reboot this post and talk about how you feel.
- Mod Vanilla

How to find motivation to do schoolwork during the pandemic:
The most important thing to remember now is that it’s okay to take more time for yourself! it’s okay to feel not your best!
Take it slow, try not to procrastinate.
Keep a planner! Organize what you’re going to do each day
take frequent breaks if needed
call your friends, and ask for help with homework if needed.
Reward yourself if you get a lot done
Keep up with due dates so you don’t need to submit missing work

Important people to remember during the coronavirus pandemic:
People in your life with mental illness. Many people who are prone to depressive episodes may be having a rough time right now due to being enclosed. People with PTSD may be triggered by the news or people panicking around them. People with eating disorders may not be used to eating certain foods or may be around family members that make offhand remarks about their weight. Some people may also use work or school as a distraction from mental illness and it may become difficult if they do not have that. Please keep these ones in mind and give them a call, ask them how they are doing, or offer support. Encourage them to open up a window to let some light in the house or remind them to take their medication if they are on it. Your support may be what they need during this time.
The elderly. Elderly ones are apart of a high risk group. Some elderly people enjoy taking walks or going shopping and they do not have access to that right now. Some elderly people may also be unable to go out and get groceries or necessities before lockdown. Some elderly people living in homes also have limited visitation with family members right now. Give them a call to show your support or ask if they have enough groceries. Your support to them may be what they need.
People with health problems. People with health problems are also apart of a high risk group because they may not be able to stop working. People with immunodeficiency or other health problems that can make ailments harder to fight off are at risk. Please keep them in mind and wash your hands and stay inside!
All and all, we are all in this together and it will pass by shortly. I hope you all stay safe 💕. For all my students, out there do something fun while in quarantine or make good use of your extra time. Vanilla out.

Organization and Time Management by mod vanilla:
organization and time management is so important in IB, it is crucial to your success. when you start the program you will feel absolutely drowned by due dates and projects. fear not! here are some tips that can help you manage your time so you some some resemblance of a social life and time to sleep.
Time Management:
1) keep a calendar/ planner!: lots of people do this and my english teacher actually started checking our planners so people would remember to write stuff in them! It’s super helpful to get a physical planner because you will remember things better if you write them down. if you’re a person that checks their phone a lot, a digital planner that gives you reminders may be more helpful.
2) Start assignments early: I cannot stress this enough, if the due date is a week away start it the day you get it and break it up into pieces. for psychology sl we have SAQs due almost weekly and we have to evaluate studies, getting started the day we receive them has been so much easier than trying to do them in one night. it is also helpful to do notes like this because remembering things in smaller pieces is easier. you can also use certain assignments as study material and you wouldn’t want to use something you did in 20 minutes to study from.
3) set goals for yourself: you will feel like you’re accomplishing something even with little tasks. make goals that are attainable such as, i will add more diagrams to my notes to make them more concise, or i will aim for a 90 on my quiz this week. although you may not get it perfect for a while, you’re getting closer to a bigger goal.
organization:
1)make sure your notes are easy to read: this is something lots of people struggle with because they are trying to furiously write down everything the teacher says. making your notes pretty will motivate you to look back on them and read them. you can also go back home and rewrite the notes for more retention!
2) make a “to do” list when you get home: if you’re scatterbrained like me and you want to do all 29292 of your assignments when you get home, make a to do list. get the harder subjects out of the way first, and then you can focus on subjects you like and subjects you need to spend more time on studying for.
organization and time management go hand and hand, they are crucial for this program and we are all still learning and figuring things out. you will reach your goal once you learn how everything works! good luck my friends!
