This is a time when we can become pioneers of solidarity — standing together by staying apart. Show kindness and respect for the #health of your nearest and dearest, your general communities, and the world at large by simply adhering to recommended #socialdistancing standards and making efforts to #selfquarantine if/when possible. You may not be worried about contracting #covid_19 -because you’re young and in fine health. But what if you, by however many degrees, pass it on to my 85 year old grandmother who’s just gotten over the flu? Or my mother — a 61 year old diabetic nurse. Or my grandfather, who suffers from COPD. Or my mentor, who is midway through a longed-for pregnancy. This is not the apocalypse. We will get through this. But we have to lessen the overall impact by doing our part to keep the numbers as low as possible. Stay home as much as you can. #washyourhands like you’re afraid they’ll run off in disgust if you don’t do it religiously and meticulously (under nails, around each finger, both sides of the palms, around the wrists).
