I've been playing The Great Hatch the last couple days and it's a really cute little game. I like the pixel graphics, the little goblins and birds are adorable. It has kind of a Kingdoms vibe. It's just a demo for now but seems like the creator is pretty serious about making it a full game. Took about a day and a half to finish which is great for a demo. My only complaint is, the tutorial makes it seem like there's going to be a lot more active clicking than the rest of the game requires. I did almost quit at that point. I'm hoping the egg hatches into some big monster or giant goblin or something at the end. Just for funsies.

New loop game!!! So many of them lately <3 I have been playing a ton of the creatively named Project Game 1 this week (and doesn't that just sum up the genre? someone's first game project, not optimized, no ending etc. but it just grabs your interest for weeks) It's a pretty classic "born a week human, train to be come an undying god" loop game (which I love, no complaints). It has a "at year x things get harder" mechanic which makes it feel like a more real world. and, I think, a good balance of skills that stay through loops and skills you have to build back up. I have one big complaint (and it's a PEBKAC), it took me WAY too long to figure out that the "Calm Wind Sect Trials" are always below the Village and Forest explorations and once you finish it you expand the game a ton. I was seriously about to quit the game when I gave the trials a chance and beat it in 2 explorations. So learn from me, try everything. Don't get stuck trying desperately farming drop chance trying for the rare Qi drop. So yeah, very fun would recommend. Please go play so the creator is motivated to update and make more!

Y'all it's time for another Loop Game!! Infinite Lives It's a fun little loop game of the "live your life, die, keep some stuff and do better (or worse) this life"variety. I do think it's one of the harder ones, you genuinely have to think and plan in later game. I think I've gotten about as far as you can right now, it really needs a re balance and not everything is unlocked yet. I'm really looking forward to where it goes in the future!

I've spent the last few weeks playing Idle Awakening. It's a resource manager, which isn't my usual thing, but it quacks a bit like a loop game so it caught my interest. It gets really crunchy the longer you go and there's lots to unlock the further in you go. It has a fun little story but you'll only really be paying attention to it during early game. The events get repetitive pretty quickly and it soon becomes apparent that you don't want to make a character build but just use whatever skill you need at the time. I so wanted to focus on Bard stuff but ended up a patrolman *sighs It's fun, give it a try.

As far as idle games go it's fine. Not very long, no save, no prestige or anything. As far as overstimulation goes, honestly it's not even the most visually annoying game I'm playing right now (I'll talk idle colony soon) but the noise. Oh the noise. Oh the noise noise noise noise. Just play it with the sound off (I play most things with the sound off) it's funny for about 2 seconds then just awful. If you're looking for a quick little play it's fun. FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING
are you frequently overstimulated?

I promised I would get back to Advent Incremental and y'all I have been plying this game a TON. It's really fun. Each day really builds on top of each other and is basically its own idle game. I wasn't even bummed when I lost my save 10 days in because it gave me more play time while the next few days unlocked. It's not perfectly balanced (day 17 is quiet the slog) but where it's good it's really really good.
If you don't like waiting for unlocks you might want to wait a bit before starting. I'll probably check in with y'all about it again once its over. In the meantime I might just restart again :D

better this than septenquinquagintillion (a number taken straight from my NGU idle save) and the kind of nonsense idle games get up to with written out number names
List of numbers I hate

If you use these numbers fuck you

Happy Holiday Season! Advent Incremental looks to be giving us a little game every day so hat's pretty cute. Looking forward to what's coming in the rest of the days. I won't update every day but definitely at the end

I been playing Idle Gainz (yes with a Z cause it's EXTREME!!!) this week. It's fun. Not quiet a loop game, maybe more loop adjacent? I do like that it's one of those games that's pretty different after the first prestige and there are different ways to prestige. give it a try, it's fun.

New loop game! Barry's Time Adventure is short but really fun. It's heavy on story. Don't worry if you don't get things going great your first time, there will be plenty of chances to do better. It really gets fun once things are automated a bit. the ending is very silly. Would definitely recommend a play

I just finished The Galactic Tree and it was pretty fun. As you can guess, it's a Prestige tree game. There's a bit more repetition of the early stuff than I would like (buying rockets never gets automated for example) but it looks like it's still in development. It's pretty well balanced and the stuff you have to repeat are fun. The quests are quick and easy which I prefer. I do have one major complaint/warning. It turns into a clicker about halfway through. Not just "click 10-20 times then add automation" it's thousands of clicks. I would really not recommend it if you're not using an auto clicker. (I like Alpha Clicker, it's pretty basic and intuitive) but if you are using an auto-clicker I would recommend. I finished it in about a day and a half.

I've been checking out Idle Ant Farm this week. It's got a lot o potential so I'd love to see more people playing it so it gets more updates. I'm always a fan of these kind of swarm games (despite a deep fear of bugs, never pushing that "see the ant farm" button) and this looks like it could do some really cool stuff in the future

I've been playing Space Station Manager a lot this week and I think it might be the best game made with Orteil's Idle Game Maker. It does a lot with the tools available and is really it's own game.
That being said, it's so slow. I know some folks are looking for that in an idle/incremental but I don't like "click one button every hour" slow (despite my continued love of Increlution). Having the bounty hunter ships (golden cookie equivalent) helps but it doesn't give enough of a reward to speed up the game by much. It's fun, worth a try if it's your kind of thing but probably not one you'll be putting months into

It's been a while, sorry about that. I've been really enjoying RNG Idle lately. it's pretty basic but I like the progression. Having t unlock auto buys every time keeps it from getting stale. Not sure if it's a bit unbalanced or I just suck at it, but it does encourage much faster progression than I can make work. (keep in mind there's an "abandon run" option if you get in over your head.)
(and if anyone knows how to get rid of those tags on the top right on itch.io you'd be my new favorite)

Been playing Become Pope, it's a fun super basic little game. I don't think it's complete (the prestige system seems to get stuck after your prestige for lobbying once). it's a quick fun play if you're bored

Having some fun with Shark Incremental this week. It looked like it would be a short simple little game but it just keeps adding another level deeper. I'm really enjoying it. I think it's a lot better balanced than a lot of games I've played lately. It adds automation levels at a really good point so I didn't get too annoyed or bored. Starting on Core resets right now. No auto-clicker needed, works in non-focused tab, has offline income, what more could we ask for?
