I love a character raised to be a weapon as much as the next guy. But what really gets me is a character raised to be a shield. Who can’t fathom being needed—or even being wanted— beyond keeping others safe. Who believe they are alive only to insure someone doesn’t die. no matter the cost. Characters who self-sacrifice not because they think they deserve it, but because no one else does deserve it, and it’s their job to protect.
Characters who’ve been told that’s why your important. Your worth something because this other person/ thing is important, and you are here solely to keep them safe.
Bonus points if it’s not a legitimate job they’ve been given. Maybe at one point it was, but now that they are free from it, they haven’t given up that mentality. No one is forcing or asking them to do this, but they need to. They need to in order to be deserving.

Steve being the one to steal the car in catws is one of my favourite things simply because there's no way Natasha "The Black Widow" Romanoff doesn't know how to steal a car.
Which to me implies that she pretended to not know how, or at least waited just a bit to see if Steve would do it.
Simply to know if he could, figure him out.

I think Tony Stark gets a homemade scarf from one of the Avengers as a Secret Santa gift and I think that becomes the first homemade item he’s ever received and yes I think he cries about it a lil. But in the bathroom where no one can see. While wearing his terrible homemade scarf. Which he doesn’t take off until May.

Tony ADORES ugly plushies.
Steve doesn't know that. He just needed to find a hobby that wasn't too painful like art and too unfamiliar like cooking. So making stuffed plushies was comfortable.
Except none of them turned right. All of them came out oddly crooked and creepy.
He leaves them in the common room. Because he can't bear to throw them out. Even though they're ugly, he made them.
When the plushies disappear, Steve assumes someone threw them out.
But then one day, he goes to Tony's lab and finds all of them at one corner, arranged into a soft looking pile.
