Not exactly the matter at hand but as an aside I think it might be possible that Shatner always had darker hair than shown in TOS but that it appeared lighter when filmed. As evidence I bring you Kirk's original uniform, which was green in reality but filmed as yellow because of "a combination of studio lighting, velour material, and the film stock used" and the crew's inexperience with the new colour technology.
It's worth considering that those same conditions might have influenced how the hair colour appeared on screen vs reality. So I think that to settle the matter once and for all, we should find a coloured non-taken-on-set photo of Shatner from those years.
kirk was blond in tos and i will die on this hill

like y’all know most blonds’ hair darkens over time, he definitely isn’t in the movies but he 100% was when he was younger (plus his hair usually looks gelled, without that it would be even lighter)

spock’s room decor is actually fucking bonkers. The weapons??? the big red velvet curtain??? like ok phantom of the opera go crazy.

for reference jim’s room has some photos and a plant so we can surmise this is uniquely a spock being a dramatic weirdo thing

i think the funniest possible star trek viewing order might be strictly chronological.
you’d have to start with that Voyager episode where they go to before the Big Bang, then work your way through every other time travel episode, the one with the whales, and First Contact before you even get close to anything approaching a normal viewing order.
at some point you’d have to watch “City on The Edge of Forever” followed by “Little Green Men” followed by “Far Beyond the Stars” which is about the most tonal whiplash you could possibly get from three consecutive episodes of star trek. I think I want to try this now.

Just watching the episode where a political leader refuses to provide personal protective equipment to front line workers in order to maintain a permanent underclass.
