Not a request!!

It odd to say I've never heard of a build-a-headspace before now? Seems really neat! No idea how it works or how one can form a headspace from this, but I'd be interested in learning, cause we're lacking heavily in consistent headspaces right now.

Hi there, anon!

Yeah, it is neat! We've seen plenty of Build a Headmate blogs around (our partner runs one and we're helping to mod it now as well!), but we hadn't seen as much around for building headspaces. We were aware that our partner was struggling with visualizing a headspace despite knowing he had one, and that's what really got us thinking about how other people might also have that experience. This is what inspired us to make Innerworlds Imagined!

As for how people form these headspaces, it really depends on the person/system requesting one. Some people may still struggle to form a headspace even after they request it, while others may thrive in a headspace they requested. I imagine that some systems have general ideas of a headspace in their minds, but struggle to actually visualize what it looks like, which makes it kind of hard to form. That's where we come in!

Systems can feel free to send in a request with their ideas, whether that be based on a fandom, a general vibe, a real place, etc., and we will do our best to form these concepts into full ideas and spaces that include headmates of all ages, species, and sources!

RV Trailer Headspace

This RV-Trailer headspace contains everything that the system could need. A place to call a home, outdoor space, transportation... nearly all in one.

The interior contains nothing short of a comfortable and cozy space to call your own. Inside of this beautiful, 70s-style RV, there is plenty of space for everyone!

Upon stepping inside, to your right, all the way at the end of the sort of hallway, you're met with a built-in bed. This bed holds only the comfiest bedding, a sort of teal colour with embroidery lining the top of the comforter. Pillows of all shapes and sizes line the perimeter of the bed, offering a cozy little nook during the day to just sit back, relax, and perhaps read a book or listen to some music! A small curtain is visible, able to be pulled across the foot of the bed to offer whomever is laying there their own privacy. Also built into the food of the bed is a dresser to hold clothes, knick-knacks, etc.!

There's not just one bed, though! Directly above the main bed is a loft. While it may be a little bit cramped for certain headmates, it could be the perfect space for littles who love to be up high and in a safe, enclosed spot.

The kitchen is vintage 70s style, the appliances the same teal blue of the bed comforter. A window is located behind the sink, illuminating the space with natural sunlight from the great outdoors. This window can open up to allow some fresh air as well so that one can get a taste of the outdoors even while cooking meals for the rest of the system! There are multiple cupboards located around the kitchen space, allowing for plenty of space to store all of the system's cooking and/or baking needs! And the built-in dishwash is a nice touch for those headmates who may not have the energy to do things by hand.

Across from the kitchen is the dining area. Here, there is a sort of dining booth sectional with a small table in the center - enough for a few different headmates to sit together and mingle! Don't worry too much about other headmates feeling left out, though, because just diagonally from this dining booth is the living room area.

This area consists of a decently-sized couch, allowing for even more headmates to sit and enjoy a meal right there by the dining booth holding others! When this spot isn't being used for mealtime, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. With a window directly above, it allows for the sun to shine in, for headmates to watch the rain come down, or for them to stargaze - the possibilities are endless here!

The living room area is colourfully decorated and vibrant with all colours of the rainbow to really give it a positive vibe. There are drawers built into the base of the couch holding multiple books for one's reading enjoyment! There is also plenty of other space to hold any other materials ths headmates may need for their own personal hobbies!

Speaking of activities, there are plenty to accomplish outside! While this may be an RV trailer that can be traveled with, when it's parked and stationary, there's no limit to the things that your headmates can do! Outdoor games can be played, trees can be climbed, plants can be identified and picked to create bouquets, yoga and meditation could be performed... the possibilities truly are endless. There's something for everyone here! There's also a small awning that can be set up for some shade from the sun for those who may need a break from the rays or for those who would like to be outside, but don't like being out in the sun as much!

It seems like we're getting some positive feedback about recruiting mods to the blog! We're putting together an application for anyone interested in the position to fill out!

We're thinking that as of right now, we'll be recruiting 2-3 mods max. This may change, but it's what we're thinking for now!

Hello, everyone!

I know we've come on and apologized a lot in the past couple posts, but I'm going to do it again-

I'm so sorry that requests have been so delayed and therefore unopened for quite some time. We've been very burnt out and experiencing a lot of physical pain (we're trying to figure out what's going on).

We've been thinking something over, though!

While we do still want to complete requests and run the blog because we really enjoy putting all this together for you guys, we were thinking about possibly opening up the possibility of recruiting mods for the blog as well. That way, there will be a little bit more help, and when we're feeling burnt out and/or in pain, requests can still be completed and sent out to everyone without it taking so long.

We were also generally thinking of changing up Headspace Packs to be either Advanced or Basic. We'll create a separate post to expand on that, though!

What are your thoughts? Would anyone be interested in applying for a mod position on this blog? We'll put up a poll below, and if people are generally interested, then we'll put another post together expanding on what that might look like.

We really do appreciate your patience! And we apologize again for how long things have taken us. Life has been putting us through the wringer lately!

Could i pls ask for a minecraft headspace? Were struggling to visualize our headspace after realizing were a new layer. Wed like spaces we know are the "front rooms", where alters can go rest, and etc. Also some fun easter eggs or places to explore :) thank u

To the two who have requested Minecraft-related headspaces:

We are deeply sorry, but we won't be able to complete your requests. We've been sitting on these for quite some time, and while we've been trying really hard to think up different ways to go about this, it just isn't working for us. We don't feel that it's fair to keep you waiting for any longer than we already have. No matter how hard we try to work on these and make them happen, we just can't seem to get very far.

hey, weird question, and if you don't know how to answer it's fine but... what exactly is a headspace?

we consider ourselves to have one, but it's not exactly what a lot of people describe. we use it more to visualise our own conversations rather than like, a place we're actually in.

part of this might be being monoconscious? when we aren't fronting or near front, we don't exactly feel like we exist. when fronting I can like, reach back and try and bring others near to front, but it isn't like I'm calling them in from headspace, even though I can sense where they are there and like, take them out? it's weird. I'd describe it as changing povs in a game where you play multiple characters, where the ones you aren't playing at the moment are replaced by bots.

our headspace is more like, you can feel it there. I know we have something, but it isn't always there, and sometimes it leaks into the real world too. like I'm moving about in real life but the headspace is being visualised around me, like a extra dimension to reality (being added to the world rather than covering up the original, I guess? I can still see real life)

sorry this is long, and weird. I just don't know where to ask... what can I say, I'm curious!

Hey there! This is a really good question.

We certainly can't speak for everyone, but for us personally, we think there are many definitions for a headspace. We feel that it's a little bit different for everybody, just like no one plural person experiences the same exact things.

If it helps, we completely understand what you're saying! I'll explain more below:

I think that for us, a headspace can simply and mainly be defined as a place where headmates or alters reside when they're not at front. From what I've gathered from interacting with and learning about other systems, this can look different for everybody. Honestly, that's part of what got us into the creation of headspaces for systems to begin with!

I'm gonna get a little personal here, but I'll keep things vague. My partner and I are both systems. I didn't realize that I was a system until I learned about my partner's experiences and kind of realized I might be one as well. I asked him a lot about what he experienced and then looked a lot more into plurality as a whole before I even wanted to outwardly call myself a system.

My point there is, I talked with my partner a decent bit about experiences - such as headspaces.

What we came to figure out is that my partner has a hard time with seeing his inner world and being let into it. I won't speak too much on his behalf, but I feel like he's described it as just really dark before (forgive me if I'm wrong, my memory can be absolutely The Worst).

For me, most of the time, I can visualize my headspace when I want to. It's really just a,,, carbon copy of my house. I really wish it were more exciting. But I can look in and see what's going on in there most of the time, but other times, it's like they don't want me to see what's there and I'm like "what the hell are y'all doin' in there"

I feel like this is a good example of how everyone's experiences with headspaces are different. I do experience part of what you described as well, so you're definitely not alone. And just because you experience things differently than other systems doesn't make yours any less valid.

Headspaces can be confusing sometimes, but generally, they're what I described at the beginning

Cyberpunk Headspace

The City

The main headspace setting here is the large, cityscape-like space. A headmate could be anywhere here doing anything that their heart desires! There is something within this place for anyone of any age with any personality. In addition to the advantage of having a plethora of activities to do here, there is also the beauty aspect. One could sit outside on a rooftop of a building or the balcony of a skyscraper and just look over the sight of the headspace lit up by thousands of bright, neon lights.

Transportation

There are many modes of transportation within this headspace. If one still wishes to remain traditional, there are still normal cars, trains, buses, etc. However, if one wants to explore just how neat this place can get, then one might experiment with things like hover trains, flying cars, airships, etc. It all depends on personal preference. The interior of these modes of transportation are nothing short of remarkable, though. Custom options that you could only imagine to be true today.

The Café

The café is a place that's open any time of the day - 24/7, 365. This way, any headmate can eat at any time. We understand there can be those who may like to eat at normal times throughout the day, but we also understand that there may be headmates who like to have midnight snacks as well.

The menu is extensive, taking care to consider everyone's individual preferences and any allergies that headmates may have. From crêpes and waffles to burgers and sandwiches to steaks and pastas and even desserts, this café has everything to offer! Not only does this café serve as a place to eat, but it also serves as a place for fun. Either scattered about or having a back room completely dedicated to them, there are both classic arcade games lining the walls as well as video gaming systems and virtual reality headsets. Whether you're waiting for your food or simply coming in for a bit of entertainment, there is a game here for all ages.

Bedrooms / Meeting Space

Imagine having a space to call your very own in this headspace. A place where you can not only hang out and relax, but also turn into a place that can serve as a meet-up without even having to leave the comfort of your own bed.

Bedrooms can, of course, be designed to a headmate's personal liking; however, imagine the possibilities. Bright lights lining the perimeter of the ceilings (or dimmer lighting if a headmate has a harder time with bright lights), colours of any choice. Also, forget about whiteboards, calendars, and to-do lists that are only going to get lost. Instead, say hello to screens built right onto your bedroom walls that hold all of the information you need to know for any occasion and any scenario. The best part about this is that if you want these monitors off for any reason, you can simply power them down with the click of a remote, and the screens are no longer visible. Imagine their effect to be similar to a hologram. A computer monitor or two are set up in the room - these could be for multiple purposes. One could be solely for online gaming while the other could be for meetings with other headmates.

Speaking of headmate meetings, they're made easy here. Meetings can take place anytime, anywhere. The best part is that not everyone needs to be in the same place at the same time. In a headspace like this, everyone has a high-tech communication device on them at all times. Headmate A can be in their bedroom and meet up on the computer while Headmate B can join in this meeting from their phone or watch while out for a walk. Meanwhile, Headmate C is driving - their car can describe exactly what's being demonstrated if needed while also presenting them physically to other people in the meeting so they can be present as well. There are no limits to what can be done here. I suppose if you wanted to be really advanced, teleportation could be a thing, and everyone could simply teleport to their pre-determined meeting place if everyone wanted to meet face-to-face.

The Oceanside

A special place to be in this headspace is the oceanside. Away from all the craziness of the city, this is somewhere that headmates can come to relax and take in the calming beauty of nature. The sand can be felt beneath one's feet, getting cooler and more damp the closer you get to the water. Footsteps are left behind you, though quickly washed away by the water rising and falling back with the tides. Here, you're not only met with the outstanding bioluminescence of the water but also the reflection of the distant city lights on the water in front of you. Laying down on the sand, one can close their eyes and listen to the waves crash, and feel the sea air brush up against their face - run through their hair.

Without so much light from the city, you can also see the stars above you in the evening, noting all of the constellations and galaxies that loom above.

Good day, friends!

We've temporarily closed headspace requests! We have gotten quite the influx of requests, and we thank everyone who has submitted one so far!

We would absolutely love to take more requests, and we will! For now, though, we want to focus on the requests that we've received so far as not to get too overwhelmed and keep everyone waiting.

I'm just planning for each headmate to have their little place and divide our headspace into sectors that each represent some group of headmates (if.. that makes any sense) so for example if we have some scene(core)/decora/kidcore (eyestrain) headmates they would get a sector that's really eyestrainy, and the sector filled with stuff they like.

Could we request a high fantasy headspace? Our innerworld is very reminiscent of Dungeons and Dragons but we have a hard time processing what actually exists within it, so we thought this might help!!

The Castle

You stumble across a castle that acts as the Main Headspace. With the space having been around for many, many years, some overgrowth may be present. However, it is far from an eyesore - it's actually a rather beautiful sight to behold. Banners are hung about the exterior of the castle, some torn, some simply worn with a burnt orange colour that has faded with time. The castle itself seems to sit upon a floating island surrounded by many other, smaller, floating islands. All of them are connected by bridges that allow you to behold the clouds and world below you. Let's just hope no one is afraid of heights.

The Meeting Room

The room where all of the important discussions take place within the headspace. With a few dragon heads mounted on the wall around the room made from various types of stone, it provides quite a fantastical vibe. The steel chandelier that hangs above the table is lit by candle light, allowing the space to have enough lighting to see, but not enough light to be overstimulating - this may be good for any headmates who have trouble with light sensitivity and may get overstimulated by bright light. The table is round with chairs placed around the circumference, providing a sort of Knights of the Round Table type feel. There's space for everyone here, and plenty of room for any demonstrations that may need to be performed. The stone walls enclosing the room keep the room cool so it doesn't get too warm and clammy while these meetings are occurring. Depending on if anyone in the headspace practices religion, this may also be used as a place of worship.

The Garden

In the garden, there are many things growing. From fruits to vegetables to spices galour, there's nothing that won't grow in this garden! Little garden gnome statues are scattered around the garden, and rather large mushrooms of all shapes and colours sprout around as well. Vines and plants grow up and over stone arches and arbors within the stone garden walls, and there seems to be a working system around said garden. Various types of handcrafted pulley systems and similar technology allow for harvesting and watering of plants as well as the transporting of these goods from one floating island to another if need be.

The Bedrooms

The bedrooms consist mainly of beds made from natural gathered materials weaved and put together in a way that forms both a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing place to sleep. They hang from the ceilings, though usually not too far off the ground, depending on how comfortable some of your headmates may be with heights. Above you is a sort of skylight that allows for natural sun and moonlight to shine into the room. This also makes stargazing quite a wonder for those who may enjoy that as a hobby. Another pulley system may be in order for pulling up a sort of curtain to cover the skylight window if one doesn't want to be woken up by sunlight in the mornings. Though, it's a fantasy headspace! So this could also very well be done with a simple thought from one's brain. In the closet may be varying types of handcrafted clothes that fit each headmate's individual personality. Paintings of different scenery from around the headspace or elsewise may be hung around the room depending on the preference of the headmate(s) that are staying in the room. One thing is for sure - freedom of expression is clear in these rooms.

The Kitchen / Dining Area

The kitchen and/or dining area within the headspace may hold a bar for drink making. Now, these don't necessarily need to be alcoholic drinks (though they can be) - this can simply be for making variations of different and fun non-alcoholic drinks. A long table that is meant to hold a feast of different foods is definitely in order as everyone has different food preferences in some way or another, we would imagine. Here, there's a seat for everyone to dig in and talk about their days or anything else. We get the sort of vibe that there may be heads and hides of differing animals displayed around the room here. Hung overhead are numerous lanterns that illumiate the room and add the feeling of home and company, making it the perfect place to share a warm meal with your family of headmates. Once the meals are done, there also could be a space directly off from the dining area and bar that allows for hanging out, dancing, and just generally having fun! A space to be rowdy and crazy without it disturbing those who may not be as keen on that behaviour.

The Armoury

As you enter the armoury, you're met with everything that may be needed by headmates who relate to the interests of paladins and barbarians. Mounted upon walls, shelves, and racks are weapons of various types and sized. Greataxes, handaxes, javelins, shields of all shapes and suzes, etc. Armours crafted from many different materials are provided and displayed here as well, kept for a time where anyone may need them.

The Library

What would a fantasy headspace be without the library? This grand space allows for imagination to run wild among headmates of any age. With books of every genre, there's something here for everyone! Sometimes, this library knows what you want before you do, books from the seemingly endless shelves of this room floating their way down into your hands. You may even find some magic scrolls lying around or tucked into some crevices around the room. Accompanying the magic and wonder of this library, though, is the perfect space to curl up with your book and read or research. A fireplace that emits a wonderful light and the perfect amount of heat to keep you comfortable provides the warm and fuzzy feeling one often looks for when settling down to read a good book. In front of this fireplace are a few different chairs made from only the comfiest and most cushioned material, embroidered with ancient designs. A few of these chairs are rocking chairs, allowing headmates who may like to rock or move during their journey into another world to do so.
