I've said this before but I do think it's a cool character thing that, once they are properly in a relationship, jon never doubts martin or martin's feelings for him. even after the Big Betrayals of mag 194 and mag 200, he still fundamentally knows that martin would never act with bad intentions towards him and doesn't hold those choices against him. and this is mr paranoid sims we're talking about, the guy who had a massive breakdown then spent three seasons gradually bringing himself down from "everyone I know wants to kill me" to "I have to keep my plan to bury myself alive secret because the others might stop me :/" even after his big decision to try and actively trust his friends. it's almost like his relationship is the one fixed point he can be sure of and hang the rest of his worldview around. so I guess it makes sense that he ultimately sacrificed the universe to have a chance at saving it.
