The diabolical clown, mr. Pennywise, is back in "IT : Part 2". 27 years has passed since the last time IT was defeated by a group of young kids, also know as the Losers Club. 27 years later, IT has returned to terrify the town of Derry. An Oath was taken by each and one member of the Losers that if IT would return, they will all come back and put an end to this diabolical curse. I really had an amazing time during the whole time and yes, they we're moment I was up my seat. It is an horror movie with good humour and thanks to it, bring the pace down and let you breathe for a moment. Directed by Andy Muschietti, who also did Part 1, does an excellent job in the way each character is presented in the movie, their back story and how they get together. The adult version of each characters is one the great things about the movie because it is representative, a really nice touch. It has the amazing cast with the kids but also with the adults and the chemistry, simply amazing to watch. Pennywise is one of the most amazing evil character ever created, he is definitely scary in every scene he appears. The movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes of scary/fun ride. It is not that scary but they will be moments you will jump out of your seat. The special effects are one of the down side of the movie, you can easily see the CGI and it does not scare. Overall, I really liked the movie except for the flaws here and there but the good part takes over in general of the movie. I totally recommend the movie this weekend, it is a perfect sequel and more darker than the first one. "Ready Or Not" a dark comedy/thriller movie, coming out tomorrow in a theater near you. I was lucky enough to watch it earlier and it is something worth of your time. Grace is getting married with Alex and she wil finally be part of the Le Domas family, a rich family who have made their empire and fortune with board games. As new member of the family, Grace must respect and play a game as part of a tradition. Whatever game is decided, she will have to go trough, like his new family too. Now, let's the game begins. I had an amazing time watching this new movie directed by both Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The movie does not waste time and you are fully commited from the get go. A cast composed with talented actors but the star of this film is definitely Samara Weaving, the protagonist and newly bride. The comedy is well distributed during the full hour and 35 minutes of it's lenght and the bloodshed, are truly shocking but funny at the same time. I do recommend this film, not too long and a ride that you will not want to get out. Fast & Furious Presents : Hobbs & Shaw, a spin-off from the original franchise. An MI6 team gets control of a virus to secure so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands when all of a sudden, they get intercepted by Brixton (Idris Alba), an ex MI6 agent, but now a terrorist, who he kills everyone at the exception of agent Hattie Shaw who succeeds to escape and with the virus as well. The world again is at threath and the only way possible to any kind of success to save it, is with the help of Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). They do not have a choice to team up and work together, because of Hattie who is Deckard's sister and on the run. Directed by David Leitch, he brings the 90's action style, exaggerations with more action and more explosions as the film progresses. The end result is simply an entertaining and a big fun ride. It is not as good as of some of the franchise movies or for this one a so called spin-off, but it is enjoyable for what it is because you get exactly what you came to see and much more. The chemistry between the main characters are on top, it is back and forth trash talk that gets better and better. I must say, the story is quite ridiculous and non sense but at the end, it doesn't really matter because we are already used for the ridiculousness that this franchise has brought us but, on the other hand, there is a great moment with a message that concerns family and this is one thing tha Fast And Futious are good with. The action is packed and the explosion are bigger, ridiculous but then again, freaking entertaining. What you see on the trailer, it is what you get but a thousand times more. Quentin Tarrantino is back with his 9th film. Once Upon A Time In... Hollywood, tells the story of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), popular back in they're golden years, are trying to get back in the industry of cinema. Neighbors to the famous director Roman Polanski and actress Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie), Rick hopes to meet them, with the opportunity to be main actor in a movie. One morning, while doing a favor to Rick, Cliff pickups a hitchhiker, going on the same direction as him, and when he drops her home at Spahn Ranch, he will meet hippies who would look suspicious to his eyes. This comedy/drama movie has multiple storyline, that will bring the characters together at the end. It is not Tarrantino's best work but still an excellent movie keeping it truth, to his own style. It has an incredible cast, besides the one mentioned earlier, it also has Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Kurt Russell, just to name a few. The acting of DiCaprio and Pitt is incredible and their chemistry is really on point. The dialogue is exquisite, how can it not, with Tarrantino behind it. It is based on the Manson's family murder but it has been changed in a different twist for the ending, a speciality of Quentin Tarrantino. The cinematography is impeccable, bringing the 60's in Los Angeles with originality and class. This weekend, I recommend by far, to go see this film. It is 2 hours and 41 minutes long but an enjoyable time at the big screen. If you liked Superbad, Neighbors or Sausage Party, this film is definitely a must watch. Seth Rogen comes as a producer and Gene Stupnitsky in his directorial debut. Three sixth graders, best friends, are trying to fit in with the popular kids. One of them, is invited into a kissing party and succeed on having his two friend, to tag along. Their crazy adventure begins when neither one of them knows how to kiss and they will get in alot of troubles by simply trying to figure it out on how to. I will start saying that the idea, the context of the movie is quite nice. Imagine the gang from the movie Superbad, but younger and naïve. Makes the whole thing really funny. The story happens all in one day and you will not believe, the situation these youngsters will go trough, it is non sense sometimes, but hilarious at the same time. The acting from our main characters, starring Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon and Keith L. Williams is good, their chemistry is on point. The only problem I had is with the cursing and some sex talk, it works and it does not time by time. It feels to forced and does not feel natural at certain scenes but when it works, it is funny to die for. The comedy is delivered from the very beginning until the end of this film. The movie comes out August 16th, so if you want to laugh, you will not regret watching this movie. One of the most beloved Disney animation is back. It has been 25 years since the original, the circle of life has returned in a real life action and the end result, satisfying. The story is the same, nothing has changed only couple of little things here and there but overall, it is shot by shot the same as the original but instead of animated, it is in real life action. The visual effects are simply, incredibly beautiful. It feels so real, you do not think for a minute that it is CGI, as soon the movie starts, the look on each animals and specially when they start talking, you forget all about the CGI for how good it looks. It has a new song by Beyonce and I taught it was okay but the movie kept the original songs that will give you goosebumps when you hear them again on the big screen. The comedy in this movie is good but specially with Timon and Pumbaa, those guys killed it and gave me lots of laugh. If I have to point out one thing, I would choose the dialogue, it is practically the same as the original so, in real life feels kind of weak but the punch lines are just as powerful as the original. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and I must thank the director Jon Favreau, who also did The Jungle Book, by bringing to life one of my favourite animation movie of all time and for doing an excellent job with this remake. It finally comes to an end with phase 3 on the Marvel cinematic universe and what a better way to tie the nod with "Spider-Man: Far From Home". Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is going on a school trip and he is preparing a whole plan on how to conquer MJ. His trip gets interrupted by mysterious events and puts Nick Fury in a position by calling for Spider-Man's help, so that he can work with Mysterio, his new soldier, to neutralize the threat that could jeopardize the entire world. The plan is not going how Peter hoped for but in times like these, is where big decisions has to be taken. I really enjoyed it and had quite lots of good laughs. The chemistry between the characters is excellent, bringing the original cast including names like Tom Holland, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya but we also have Samuel L. Jackson and Jake Gyllenhaal having big part in the movie. The story is well told, explaining the previous events of Endgame, how it has changed the life of every person on earth and where it is going. I love the complexity of Peter Parker, a teenager, having to deal with teenage stuff but at the same time with the big picture on the hero side. The action is good and the special effects are truly amazing and impressive, specially with the kind of villain in this movie, it works tremendously . The twist I saw it coming so I was not surprised but when you see the mistake that our hero does, you see a naif, young teenager, so you go along with it because it fits perfectly but also, because I could relate as I also was a foolish teenager in my days. The verdict, not better than Spider-Man: Homecoming but truly a great sequel and excellent way to end the phase 3.
