In terms of environmental responsibility, they have committed to reach zero net carbon emissions by 2040 and renewable energy is used to power 89 percent of their operations. This inspires me as a design leader by encouraging me to invest and be a part of initiatives that are meaningful to me. Where they donate their money is very different from where other companies do, and thats because they value different causes due to their own experiences.

Adidas is environmentally responsible by using environmentally preferred materials in 90 percent of their products. They also pledged to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 15 percent by 2025. Aside from environmental responsibility, they also practice social responsibility by creating a system to identify and manage high risk human rights across its value chain. They influence who I want to be because they focus on more than the profits, but also how to make the world a better place. When you give and serve your community, the profits will follow.

My other instance of putting a stake in the ground is Apple. This example was used in the course materials, but I found it so intriguing. It has always been interesting to me how high in demand apple products are and has often times led me to question how they do it. They have mastered creating desire and it has become their differentiating factor or 'stake in the ground.'
