The Karaoke Night

Every year the store hosts a karaoke night at one of the neighboring karaoke bars.

The tradition became so important to the store that the store manager had declared that they would have the store closed that day.

So yes. Somehow this tradition meant a lot.

The bar was filled with almost everyone from Carat Corp. Even the old ladies that work in the floral department were there and currently on their 4th margarita of the night.

Disco lights, music roaring, people dancing. It was bound to be a fun and carefree night for everyone.

...but of course what was a night of work (or off of work) without a bit of chaos.

You see this would have been a nice team bonding if it wasn't for the Karaoke contest that occurs every year.

"Yo Y/N have you signed us up for the duets yet?" Vernon questioned his duet partner as he sat down next to her in the booth, apple juice in his hand.

Y/N let out a sigh. "Not yet. I don't even how we could top our last year's duet!" She said as she dramatically slammed her hands on the table.

Jeonghan glanced over at her exclamation. "Last year's duet? Didn't you guys do that one song from that dorky play?"

Vernon and Y/N both gasped in shock.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN DORKY?"

"OKAY I KNOW YOU DID NOT JUST CALL HAMILTON A PLAY!"

On the other side of the bar, Mingyu and Seokmin made their way to go sign up for the solos. Once they made it to the clipboard they started to scan the list and scope out their competition.

"Shit. Joshua is singing Sunday Morning again!" Seokmin whined.

"Literally what else can you expect?" Mingyu deadpanned. "He's sang it for the last 3 years."

"Yeah but he always gets 2nd place somehow" Seokmin frowned. "ITS NOT FAIR!"

Mingyu patted his sad friend's back. "Well it's mostly because all the older ladies from the flower department love him. They even call him son"

"SO THATS HOW HE GETS ALL THE VOTES"

"Yeah so basically it's just a fight between 1st and 3rd place" Mingyu shrugged.

"What song are you singing?" Seokmin asked as he peeped over Mingyu's shoulder as he jotted down his name.

"Uh only the best karaoke song ever. Creep."

Seokmin nodded his head in agreement.

"Damn that's good." Seokmin contemplated. "I think I'm gonna sing Defying Gravity" Seokmin said as he went to write his name.

"Oh that song from Wicked. Good luck, I heard Soonyoung and Seungkwan are gonna sing that other song from it.

"OMG NO WAY! They're gonna do What is This Feeling?" Seokmin squealed.

Mingyu has no idea why most of his friends loved Wicked so much. But who was he to judge. "Yeah I think so"

"Oh who's doing whose part?" Seokmin asked.

Mingyu furrowed his eyebrows. "I have no idea. Pretty sure they're over there fighting about it right now" he said as he pointed to the two friends by the duet sign up sheet, looking like they are in a heated argument. (They are)

"I WANT TO BE ELPHABA!"

"WHAT NO I SHOULD BE ELPHABA!"

"WHY DO GET TO BE THE MAIN CHARACTER!"

"OH PLEASE EVERYONE KNOWS GLINDA IS THE FAN FAVORITE! JUST DO HER PART!"

"NO IM ELPHABA"

"NO I AM"

"DEFYING GRAVITY BATTLE CRY BATTLE FOR IT RIGHT NOW!"

Wonwoo spotted both Y/N and Vernon in front of the duet sign ups. "So..." he said catching the two's attention, "did you guys come up with a song yet?" He then took a sip of his water.

"Yeah we're gonna do Fat Juicy & Wet by Sexyy Red and Bruno Mars!" Y/N said excitedly.

Wonwoo spit out his water and started coughing.

"YOU GUYS WHAT?"

Vernon nodded his head nonchalantly. "Yeah we figured that we have to put on a memorable performance so we can stand out"

Wonwoo looked at the two like they were insane.

"Well that's definitely one way to do it."

Later that night...

Seungcheol stood on the stage, acting as MC for the night.

"Let's all give a round of applause for all our duets for the night!"

The crowd all cheered.

"You all did a wonderful job. Now it's time to announce our winners for the night."

"In 3rd place we have....

"Y/N and Vernon with Fat Juicy & Wet!"

Seungcheol did a double take at his cue cards. "Wow really?" he questioned.

The two immediately jumped up and hugged in celebration.

"OH MY GOD YES WE DID IT VERN!"

"HELL YEAH!"

Y/N was dramatically covering her mouth and wiping away fake tears as her and Vernon walked up to the stage.

Vernon was giving everyone in his path a handshake and thanking them as he went up.

As Jun watched the two in confusion he leaned over to whisper to Jihoon. "Why are they acting like they won first place?"

Jihoon shook his head. "Look at their prize" he pointed out. "3rd place gets a $50 Taco Bell gift card"

...

"Yeah that checks out then"

"And in 2nd place we have....

"SEUNGKWAN AND SOONYOUNG with What is This Feeling!"

The two celebrated and Soonyoung even jumped on Seungkwan in excitement.

They joined their other friends on the stage.

"And to announce our 1st place Duet we have...

Drumroll please.....

MARK AND HAECHAN WITH BILLIONARE!"

Jeonghan scoffed, "tsk. Whatever it wasn't even that good"

Joshua agreed. "Yeah it was mid if you ask me"

Seems like the friends still share a distaste towards the Canadian.

(They're just haters)

The night went on and the Solos were also announced:

1st place: Seokmin with Defying Gravity

2nd place: Joshua with Sunday Morning

3rd place: Vernon with I am the Best

"I still can't believe I didn't make it to the top 3" Mingyu pouted.

Y/N smiled sadly at the boy. "It's okay! You still did good!"

Soonyoung laughed. "Yeah but not good enough to even make top 5"

Seungkwan and Chan joined in on making fun of the sad Mingyu.

Mingyu's frowned got even deeper. "I didn't even know Vernon signed up for a solo"

Vernon's head shot up at the mention of his name. He paused in the middle of eating his chicken wings"

"Oh yeah" he said sound muffled by the food in his mouth, "it was last minute."

Wonwoo nodded his head. "I told him that the prize for 3rd was a gift card of your choice so he signed up"

"YUP!" Y/N shouted as she took a bite of her fries, " we need more Robux"

Minghao sighed. "Yeah yall don't wanna know what they spend that shit on."

"Well then." Seokmin cleared his throat. "Why don't we all cheers and order some more drinks?"

"AH YEAH!"

"CHEERS!" The group yelled out as they clinked their glasses together.

The Plan

"Okay so what are we gonna do about Y/N and Vernon?"

The group of 12 decided they have had enough of the weird tension between their two friends. They all gathered at Mingyu's apartment to come up with a plan that could get the two to reconcile.

Of course they also made this meetup an excuse to get Mingyu to cook them a meal and for Seungcheol to buy them some drinks.

In fact the meetup was starting to look like one of their bbq nights.

Chan, who was currently making himself a wrap, spoke up, "Yeah we gotta figure out how to get the two to make up. I can't work under these conditions anymore!"

Jeonghan nodded his head. "Yeah and I don't think I can play another round of Dress to Impress with Y/N. One can only troll so much on Roblox."

"No yeah we definitely need to get them to reconcile."

"I've had enough of seeing Vernon eat Toast every lunch"

"Yeah I don't know if I can do another Taco Bell run with Y/N. Everything tastes the same to me know"

"And if I have to listen to Vernon explaining which Shrek movie is the best out of the whole franchise again I'm gonna crash out for real"

With a mouth full of rice, Soonyoung made a sound of agreement. "Whaf ebenf haftend-" he let out muffled.

"I don't know but I'm guessing it happened after work on Tuesday. They were fine with each other during their closing shifts that day, but when they came in the next morning they were acting so cold to each other." Dokyeom said while continuing to flip the meat on the grill.

From across the table Junhui was eyeing the biggest piece pork belly on the grill.

Joshua made a displeased face. "Maybe they were just mad they had to open after closing"

"Nah" Seungkwan started, "They were both being normal to everyone else. Plus the two of them play games til like 2 AM everyday so it doesn't make a difference if they closed the night before.

The piece of pork was one flip away from being grilled to perfection.

"WAIT THATS IT!" Wonwoo exclaimed.

"Huh"

Seokmin flipped the piece of pork.

Wonwoo stood up to explain, "Tuesday nights are when we work on our Minecraft neighborhood."

"Nerds" Seungcheol interrupted.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes. "Anyway. They were fine before I left the discord call and the Minecraft server and that was a little after midnight. So something most likely happened after that."

He then looked over to Soonyoung and Seokmin. "You guys were still in the server with them after I left right? Did anything happen?"

Soonyoung shrugged. "We weren't there for long after you left.."

"Yeah we got kicked out of the call and the server since we kept arguing because Soonyoung killed my horse!" Seokmin glared at the so called horse killer.

"THAT WASNT MY FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT"

"THE SCREEN LITERALLY SAID 'KING KONG WAS SLAIN BY HORANGHAE96' OF COURSE IT WAS YOUR FAULT"

Junhui finally picked up the precious piece of pork and put it on his plate.

"I was just trying to ride your horse." Soonyoung pouted. "I didn't know I was hitting him with my sword"

"There's literally a button to get on the horse" Jihoon interjected.

"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW!"

Right as Soonyoung yelled out his defense, he stood up with his arms out, bumping into Junhui's shoulder in the process making Jun drop the piece of pork belly he had almost brought to his mouth.

"Wait you named your horse King Kong?" Joshua quesy Seokmin.

Junhui now stares at his piece of pork that is now on the floor.

"Whatever. It doesn't matter" Mingyu said as he brought in some more bowls of rice. "Let's just figure out what happened and how to fix it."

Seungkwan agreed. "Yeah! We're losing the plot!"

"Why don't yall go back on the server and see if anything happened." Minghao suggested.

Jun settles for the next best piece of pork.

"Oh what the fuck"

"It says Vernon made the world private"

"What does that mean?"

"It means only he can he join the server."

"Tell Vernon to come over right now. We need answers!"

15 minutes later

"So yeah. Basically I accidentally led a creeper into the underground tunnels we have connecting our houses together and Y/N got too close to it and it ended up blowing up part of her house. Specifically Dumbledore's room." Vernon explained.

"Dumbledore? Like the wizard? I thought you guys were playing Minecraft?"

Wonwoo sighed. "Y/N named her cat in Minecraft Dumbledore"

"Ohhh"

"So that explains why she's mad at you" Minghao concludes. "Now why are you mad at her?"

Vernon runs his hands up and down his face.

"So after the creeper exploded Y/N got mad at me because when she went to go look at the damage she noticed that Dumbledore was gone. And because she got mad at me she went to my house and destroyed my bed and then she started chasing me around with her netherite sword. Before I knew it she killed my character and I had to respond at the default spawn point because she destroyed my bed. At least I had the coordinates but Y/N turned them off so I couldn't go back to the neighborhood. So then I got mad and we started arguing and then it ended with me kicking her out of the server." Vernon ended with a frown on his face.

"I'm not even mad at Y/N, it was just in the moment. Now I feel so bad because her house is destroyed and Dumbledore is gone"

"Yall are really fighting over some stup-" Jihoon starts.

"What Jihoon means to say is that we can fix this." Seungkwan says as he covers Jihoon's mouth before he could finish his sentence that could have potentially made Vernon even sadder.

"Yeah just spawn a cat that looks like Dumbledore and say that he was outside and not in his room." Joshua says.

Seems reasonable.

Vernon looks at the group with an unconvinced face. "I don't know guys. That just feels wrong."

Jeonghan pats the younger boy's back. "If it makes you feel any better, that's probably the 9th Dumbledore we'll replace"

Vernon looks up at him.

"WHAT"

Jeonghan nods. "Yeah the original Dumbledore was gone a long time ago. It got in the way when I was trying to shoot arrows at a skeleton and I ended up hitting him instead."

Vernon's jaw dropped.

"I accidentally left his door open once and a zombie got to him." Soonyoung admitted.

"Pretty sure Mingyu killed him once too because he thought it was a mob"

Vernon looked to the group with his eyes wide. "So you guys have been replacing Dumbledore with a clone every time you get him killed?"

"Yeah pretty much"

"Do you think Y/N will believe us?"

"How do you even have the cat spawn egg? We turned off the option to switch to creative mode."

"I have my ways"

"OH MY GOD! Dumbledore was outside in the garden Vern! He's perfectly fine!" Y/N cheered over the discord call.

"Thank goodness he's safe." Vernon says slowly.

"Aw I'm sorry I made you go back to the OV spawn point." Y/N says apologetically. "Here let me turn on cords so you can get back and we can keep expanding the tunnels!"

"Down! We should rebuild Dumbledore's room first!"

"Right!" Y/N laughed. "Let's go!"

As the two were playing and chatting over discord, the rest of the 12 boys looked over at Vernon smiling at the computer screen with a fond smiles on their faces.

Balance was restored.

The Cold War

"Wow. I can't believe you would do this to me"

" I thought I knew you."

"We've known each other for how long now? All those years of friendship down the drain"

Is Seokmin hearing correctly??

Are you and Vernon having a real argument?

In all the years that he's known the two of you, you've basically been attached to the hip. The both of you got along so well!

Even when your friend group grew bigger and bigger as you met new people throughout your adolescence years, you and Vernon always managed to keep that tight bond.

Seokmin could recall the day he had befriended the two of you, turning your duo into a trio. Seokmin had just transferred to your middle school and the two of you decided to 'adopt' him with the sole reason being that he had the same birthday as Vernon.

You took that as a sign that he was meant to be friends with you.

Seokmin didn't mind being forced into this new friendship. It was hard enough being the new kid and you and Vernon did nothing but welcome him with open arms.

As the years went on, more and more of your group had come along. Even Mingyu had secured a spot in the group after years of begging to be apart of it.

He had been trying to join you and Vernon since kindergarten. All his efforts to befriend you two flew over your heads. He would share his snacks with you two, let you guys have the first pick of reading books (even when one of you grabbed his favorites!) anything that would show his ability to be a good friend, Mingyu would do it. But you just took it as a nice gesture and quite frankly, Vernon didn't even know Mingyu existed...

Anyway. Back to the point.

Seokmin had never seen the two of you bicker with each other, let alone get into a full blown argument.

Something real bad must have happened if it's causing a rift in your friendship.

Vernon scoffed and shook his head.

Y/N rolled her eyes and left the room, not forgetting to slam the door on her way out.

Vernon let out a sigh and left the room as well.

This is not good Seokmin thinks to himself. Surely this was a prank right? What could have caused their fight? What happened? How did it happen?

And most importantly, how did the two not notice Seokmin enter the room mid fight?

He needed answers.

This must be Mingyu's lucky day. He woke up feeling well rested. There was no traffic on his way to work. He had gotten the first freshly baked croissant from the cafe. And now, you had just asked him to go to lunch with you.

Of course he questioned why you weren't going to lunch with Vernon, but the feeling of excitement was enough to push that thought away.

Best day ever.

While Mingyu was having the time of his life, the others were left in a state of confusion.

Joshua walked into 'the den' with his homemade lunch and his baked cookies that he made yesterday.

He was so proud of his baked goods that he decided to bring some to work to share with his beloved friends.

He found an open seat by Soonyoung and Minghao. As he sat down he could feel some tension in the room.

He took a look around, doing a double take when he saw that you and Vernon were seated on the opposite sides of the room, eating with different people.

You were quietly eating your lunch while listening to Mingyu yap about God knows what.

Vernon was seated next to a napping Jihoon.

From what Joshua can tell, you were just trying to eat your meal while occasionally responding to something Mingyu had said and Vernon on the other hand was absentmindedly taking bites of his strawberry jam toast while disassociating.

Yeah. Something had to be wrong.

The next day Chan walked into work with an optimistic mindset.

He picked up a fulfillment shift today so he would be working with his two favorite coworkers (don't tell Wonwoo)

Chan loved picking up fulfillment shifts because he spends most of the day with Y/N and Vernon. They made every shift go by quick.

Surely this would be a fun and easy day.

WRONG

Chan was so wrong.

"Chan can you tell Y/N to stop hogging all the bags?"

"Chan can you tell Vernon that if he used his eyes he would see there's a box of bags right behind him?"

They continued on like this the whole shift.

The Stolen Lunch

The holiday season was exactly what you would expect.

A disaster.

Regardless of the busy and hectic state of the store, the team members could only do so much. At the end of the day, it is what it is.

As stressful as the work day is, lunch time was a break away from all that stress.

Those 45 minutes are sacred to any retail worker.

Jeonghan made his way to 'the den' to finally enjoy his lunch. He had been counting down the minutes ever since he clocked in.

Once he made it into the office, he saw that a few of his friends were already in there.

"Hi Hannie!" Y/N greeted him excitedly. Vernon, who was sitting across from Y/N, sent Jeonghan a nod as acknowledgment.

Jeonghan sent them both a tired smile.

"You two are always together huh." He commented

Y/N looked back at him with a big smile. "Yeah it's because we're the bestest of friends" Y/N said as she reached over to give Vernon a big hug.

Vernon, who's mouth was full of food, looked to Jeonghan and nodded his head nonchalantly to agree with Y/N's statement.

Jeonghan also nodded his head to the comment. Made perfect sense to him.

He then made his way over to the fridge they had installed into 'the den' exclusively for the 14 friends to use. (It took them 5 days to finally convince Cheol to get one set up in there)

As Jeonghan was looking through the fridge, Seungkwan, Chan, and Soonyoung came into the office.

The room started to fill with the rest of the friends and everyone scattered around to relax and talk.

It had been a few minutes of busy chatter until one person disrupted it.

"ALRIGHT!" Jeonghan suddenly exclaimed, "WHO TOOK IT"

The room went silent.

"Um... took what?" Seokmin spoke for everyone.

Jeonghan glanced around the room with a scoff.

"MY LUNCH. It's not in the fridge."

Joshua looked at him confused. "Who would take your lunch?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out. I know it had to have been someone in this room. No one else comes back here except for the 14 of us. So give it up now and just confess. I promise I won't be mad"

"Okay" Soonyoung started

Jeonghan quickly made his way over to him and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, cutting his words off.

"I KNEW IT WAS YOU! HOW DARE YOU! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS KWON SOONYOUNG!"

"NO HAN NO! IT WASNT ME I PROMISE! PLEASE! LET ME TALK"

"Yeah Hannie I don't think it was Soonie. He packed his own lunch today." Y/N said as she pointed to the tiger lunch box that was sitting on the table in front of where Jeonghan was currently holding Soonyoung.

"Oh."

"Well it had to be someone else then"

Seungcheol then cleared his throat. "Well not to be that guy, but I saw Mingyu eating something during his first break. And now he has more food in front of his right now? Seems a bit suspicious to me"

"OH HELL NO! I'll have you know that I was eating a chicken breast THAT I BROUGHT. And this" Mingyu pointed to the food in front of him, "THIS is my meal prep that I work so hard to make at the beginning of every week" he finished off

"Man no one cares. Who took the lunch?"

The room bursted into pure chaos. One accusing the other. Back and forth arguments.

"Well I know for a fact it's not me or Vernon" Y/N said, "we got Taco Bell today"

Seungkwan rolled his eyes, "This is like the third time this week you guys got Taco Bell. How are you not tired of it?"

"Hey! They brought nacho fries back this month" Vernon tried to justify, "we gotta take advantage of it!"

Voices continued to fill the room.

"Chan looks suspicious"

"IT WASNT ME"

"I have my own lunch"

"No one cares."

"Someone just confess"

"IT WAS PROBABLY THAT MARK GUY"

"He still works here?"

Jeonghan looked at the chaos and stress that was now installed in the office.

To be clear, Jeonghan did not have a lunch.

He forgot to bring it this morning and if he couldn't enjoy a nice meal during his lunch break, no one could.

So Jeonghan smiled to himself and began to enjoy, he looked down at his watch, the 28 minutes left of his lunch as his coworkers continued to argue.

"Hey Hannie" Y/N whispered over to him

"Hm" Jeonghan hummed.

"You can have the other half of Vernon's burrito" Y/N offered as Vernon showed Jeonghan the other half of his burrito.

"It's okay sweetie, thanks for offering" Jeonghan smiled at the two.

"Okay! But let us know if you want anything from Taco Bell tomorrow, kitten whiskers is gonna join us too!" Y/N gestured to Seokmin, who was currently in a heated argument with Jun and Jihoon.

Jeonghan was a bit concerned about the amount of Taco Bell the two were consuming. (It's very concerning)

He shrugged off the thought.

"Sure, why not"

The New Hire

As the Back to School season was coming to an end, it was now time for the store to start preparing for the holiday seasons.

One preparation was hiring some seasonal employees.

Seungkwan was minding his own business, just sitting in the team lead office, recently named 'The Den' (named by Soonyoung ofc).

Seungkwan had been in there for a while now. He was on minute 32 of his 45 minute lunch.

After a while, the door opened up and in came in Mingyu and Soonyoung. It seemed like they were in a pretty serious conversation.

A conversation that sounds like it was just between the two of them.

So of course, Seungkwan did the sensible thing and took his airpods off so he could eavesdrop.

Thank god he decided to sit by the desk with the computer blocking him from view.

"He's a mess. He just follows her around like a lost puppy!" Mingyu exclaimed, "ITS LIKE ITS HIS FIRST DAY OR SOMETHING!"

Soonyoung pondered for a minute. "Wait. Isn't it his third day?"

Mingyu rolled his eyes, "Yeah. But still."

Soonyoung pouted.

"You're right though. He is getting on my nerves. He's been hogging all of Y/N's attention lately."

Mingyu pouted as well.

Just then Seungkwan's alarm went off indicating that his break was sadly over.

Mingyu and Soonyoung turned their heads and looked at Seungkwan with wide eyes.

Seungkwan awkwardly laughed, "Hehe Hi guys! Gotta head back!"

Soonyoung smiled at Seungkwan. "Oh enjoy your shift Kwan!"

Seungkwan made a sigh of relief. It seems like weren't annoyed that he heard their conversation. Maybe he could pry for some more information.

"I'll try! By the way... who were you guys talking about?"

Mingyu let out a loud and annoyed groan.

"The new seasonal guy Y/N is training. His name is Mark."

"Yeah so that's pretty much all there is to know! You'll be working in fulfillment with Vernon. Let me or him know if you have any questions. You'll be off on your own now!" Y/N spoke.

Mark let out a breath. "Uh yeah dude. Thanks so much for showing me around."

"It's no problem!" Y/N smiled, "all part of the job."

Mark laughed at her comment. "For sure. Thank you Y/N!"

From a distance, three very annoyed men watched as Y/N and the new guy interacted.

"Pshh. foR SuRe! tHaNK YoU Y/N!" Jeonghan mocked. "Can you believe this guy?"

Seungcheol shook his head. "I don't like him. I sense something off about him. And his name. Mark."

"I know what's wrong with him. He's Canadian." Joshua replied.

"THATS IT"

Even further away stood a confused Seungkwan.

Why is everyone so annoyed at the new guy?

After observing almost everyone's weird behavior towards the new guy, Seungkwan decided to call his 12 coworkers into 'The Den'.

The only person missing was Wonwoo. He was scheduled to work at 2:30 and it was almost time, but Seungkwan couldn't hold it in anymore.

"OKAY" Seungkwan called their attention, "What is going on with you guys?"

Seokmin looked up confused, "What do you mean?"

Seungkwan glares at the 11 men. "You know what I mean. Why do you guys hate the new guy?"

Jihoon looks even more confused, "We have a new guy?"

Seungkwan decided to ignore his comment.

"I've caught some of you guys hating on the new guy. From his name, his lack of work ethic, and even his nationality." Seungkwan emphasizes the last part as he stares at the three oldest.

"I don't have a problem with him" Vernon says. "He's pretty cool. Plus we were thinking about collabing on a mixtape"

Seungkwan looks at the group again.

"I just don't get it. He hasn't done anything to you all. He's still getting used to the job. Do you guys have some hidden vendetta against him?"

"Like sure he's new and bad at the job, but Y/N has been helping him. IN FACT, Y/N has been the only one being nice to him. He's been following Y/N around and sticking to-"

Oh. OH

Seungkwan got an epiphany.

He turns to the men with wide eyes.

"Are you guys jealous that he's been spending time with Y/N?"

The room was quiet. No one knew what to do or what to say.

This only confirms Seungkwan's theory.

"Do you guys... like Y/N?" He asks

Minghao was the first to speak up. "Well I don't know about some of you, but I care for Y/N as a friend."

Jihoon nods his head in agreement.

Vernon nods his head as well and Jun agrees.

"I'm not sure about LIKE like, but I just felt a certain way about seeing the two of them." Soonyoung stated.

Seokmin seemed to agree with Soonyoung.

Chan decided to speak up, "Raise you hand if you like Y/N as more than a friend!"

Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Joshua, and Mingyu all raise their hands.

Chan squinted at the group, "Okay raise your hand if you're confused about your feelings!"

Soonyoung and Seokmin raise their hands.

Seungkwan stands in front of his friends in disbelief.

"I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS! WHAT ABOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP! WHY DID YOU GUYS NOT SAY ANYTHING! THIS IS INSANE!" He spits out as he paces back and forth in front of the group.

Just then Wonwoo walks into the room.

Chan looks over at him, "Oh Wonwoo you're here! Now tell us, do you like Y/N?"

Wonwoo pauses.

"No."

The rest seem to relax and feel relief after hearing his answer.

"I'm in love with her."

The Truck Schedule

After the bird 'incident' that occurred yesterday, a team meeting had to be held.

All the team members in the building gathered around in a circle at the very center of the store. In the middle of the circle was Minghao.

As the HR rep, he had to be the one to call this very important meeting. (yay so fun)

Once everyone started to quiet down, Minghao took a deep breath.

"Okay" he sighed. "After an unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday," he paused, "Mingyu will be gone on a mental health leave for this week."

As the only people who knew what actually happened during the 'incident' the twelve pairs of eyes stole glances at each other.

The moment a pair would make eye contact their mouths would spread into a smile.

A few had to cover their mouths and Soonyoung had to fake a cough in order to hold in his chuckles.

Chan was on the brink of bursting out into laughter, but thankfully Seungkwan was their to nudge his side.

The rest of the team members present, outside of the thirteen friends, had no clue what went on yesterday. It was evident in their faces that they were concerned about Mingyu. (Although most of them were too tired to really care)

Hao carried on, "Since Mingyu is the one who runs the truck, we're gonna need to arrange for his absence."

The room filled with groans.

"I know it's very last minute, but the situation was so sudden" Hao explained, "I'll take any volunteers who can run the truck this week! I will leave a sign up sheet on the front desk in the office." he gave a big (fake) smile.

"Thank you for your time!"

"I cannot believe that Mingyu gets a whole week off just because a bird pooped on his shoulder!" Chan exclaimed.

Y/N thought back to the events of yesterday and smiled. "No yeah, if I was Gyu, I would be traumatized."

"So are any of you guys gonna run the truck?" Joshua asked.

Jeonghan was the first to speak up, "Well I would love to, really I would, but no one else can handle Guest Services. What a shame!" he pouted.

Joshua joined in, "Yeah and I'm only trained in the cafe so..."

The rest of the friends ignored the twos' fake sympathy.

Chan walked over to the list.

"Oh! It looks like Shownu already offered to take the truck for tomorrow and Thursday! And Johnny took Wednesday and Saturday."

Jun turned to Jihoon, "Do you want to throw the truck on Tuesday? I can help you too!" he suggested

Jihoon thought for a moment.

"Hmmm. I guess that'd be fine. But I'll probably need support in market afterwards."

Soonyoung's ears seemed to perk up to the mention of needing help in market.

"JI I CAN HELP YOU! PLEASE!" he desperately said.

Wonwoo looked at him puzzled.

"Why do you want to work in market so bad?"

Soonyoung stood up. It seemed like he was about to deliver a speech in front of a huge crowd.

"BECAUSE! I've only had shifts in drive up AND ITS TOO HOT TO BE OUTSIDE GIVING CUSTOMERS THEIR ORDERS! If i'm out in the sun for another day I will die of heatstroke!" he exclaimed.

"I WANT TO EXPERIENCE BEING IN THE COOLERS AND FREEZERS!"

Y/N gently pat his back affectionately.

"It's okay Soonie. I'll buy you ice cream after your shift today okay!"

After Soonyoung eventually calmed down after his little burst, the group continued to plan out the truck schedule.

"I'm in fulfillment this whole week. The batches don't even drop until the store opens so I'm sure me and Vernon can handle it! We can take a day for the truck!" Y/N cheered.

Y/N turned to Vernon.

"Vernon what day do you want to take?"

Vernon just shrugged, "I'm cool with whatever"

Minghao took a look at the list so far.

"Well we only have one day left to fill. Any takers?"

Chan quickly pointed to Seungkwan, who was literally minding his own business.

"I heard Seungkwan say he wants to volunteer!"

Seungkwan gave Chan the most bombastic side eye.

"I SAID NO SUCH THING! I HAVE NO TIME FOR THE TRUCK! HAVE YOU SEEN MY DEPARTMENT??!? I SPEND MOST IF MY TIME PICKING UP AFTER THE CUSTOMERS COMPLETELY TRASH THE PLACE!!"

Chan ignored his pleas and just gave Seungkwan a tight lipped smile.

"All I'm hearing are excuses"

"WHY YOU LITTLE-"

And so therefore an argument had erupted.

While Chan and Seungkwan were bickering the others turned to Y/N and Vernon.

Jihoon looked over at the two, "Can you guys really handle the truck on Friday?"

Y/N seemed to take offense to his comment.

She scoffed playfully, "Why? You think I can't because I'm a woman?"

"Nah Y/N I don't think we're concerned about you. It's Vernonie over here." Hao butted in. "I haven't seen him do much heaving lifting at work."

Joshua joined in too.

"Yeah to be honest, I don't think I see Vernon work at all. He usually does one batch and I swear he disappears for the rest of his shift!" he exclaimed.

This seemed to catch Cheol's attention. He made a mental note to check the cameras and see where Vernon would go off to.

Y/N shook her head. "Y'all are underestimating Kpoppapī. He's been working out."

Vernon nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah. I gym."

"OKAY BUT HOW COME YOU WONT TAKE A TRUCK DAY HUH!" Seungkwan shouted.

Chan was quick to defend himself, "YOU KNOW ITS BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON! IM STRUGGLING IN THE SEASONAL DEPARTMENT! ALL I CAN SMELL ARE CRAYONS! CRAYONS!" he raised his hands like a mad man.

The rest of the group decided to focus back on the two arguing.

"Why doesn't Seokmin just take the last day?" Wonwoo suggested.

A loud gasp was heard from Y/N.

"NO! My little cupcake HATES running the truck" Y/N frowned, "I will not let that happen!"

(The favoritism is really showing)

Jihoon decided to speak up, "Well if I have to have Soonyoung help me in market, the least he should do is take a truck day."

"HOW DARE YOU!" Soonyoung said.

Hao seemed to agree, "Yeah that makes sense."

Soonyoung shook his head, "WHY DOESNT WONWOO TAKE A DAY!"

Soon more and more voices started to join in.

At this point there were 3 different arguments happening all at the same time.

"HOW ABOUT WE RECONSIDER JOSHU-"

While the whole group was busy arguing over who would take the last day, one person quietly made their way to a seat with the truck schedule in their hands.

Everyone else was too busy arguing to pay attention.

With a smile on his face, Jeonghan quickly wrote down a name on the very last spot.

Once he finished his task, he sat back and continued to watch his friends argue over the, now solved, issue.

He quietly snickered while rubbing his hands together like an evil villain waiting for his plan to be carried out.
