tumblr is eternal. amerikkkans of color on twitter and tiktok are again encountering the fact that people of color can be “colonizers” and “imperialists,” that those terms describe an actual relationship to exploitation rather than a quirky edgy insult you hurl at whites for the TeeHees™️. they are not taking it well. it’s very reminiscent of the year of obama’s re-election on tumblr where westoid afropessimists justified their support for obama despite the horrors that african, middle eastern, and asian people reported online under his tenure. obama would go on to authorize a drone strike on yemen the night he was re-elected while anti-racists in the US celebrated. i think time is running out for liberal anti-racists who have weaponized identity claims to silence the victims of imperialism, being that there is so much visual evidence of a genocide occurring that we cannot ignore. this time i think the outcome will be much different, since marxism isn’t as indie as it was in 2012. interrogating americans’ demented relationship with identity politics is much more prominent than it was 12 years ago. godspeed zoomers. actually fucking insane that the moment posts about mohammad and shaima's fundraiser turned their focus on the boys of their family still stuck in khan younis, donations slowed down so drastically. it just goes to show that people truly don't care for arab men, because to them arab men are not worth the same care and effort as women and children. and that really hurts me bc i can't even stand to think of my uncles, my cousins, my dad in the situation so many palestinian men have found themselves in - let alone teenage palestinian boys. please donate what you can and help spread this. arab men deserve your sympathy as much as anyone else.

A Plea for Help from Gaza: A Family Seeking Safety

Hello, I am Samar Shamiya, married to Hashem Al-Shawish. I have a child born in the war, his name is Omar. He is 6 months old.

We live in the midst of the ongoing hellish war in Gaza, trapped between walls of fear and despair.

We struggle daily to survive in an environment filled with threats and dangers.

We are originally from the north of the Gaza Strip, but at the beginning of the war we were displaced several times without anything. Our house was completely destroyed and we are now homeless.

We urgently appeal for your moral and financial assistance to cover the necessary costs for escaping to a safe environment, where we can build a better future for our children and ensure our family's safety.

We are in desperate need of your support. Any donation, no matter how small, can help save our lives. Thank you for your attention and support during these harsh times.

I want to draw attention to @amalashuor's gofundme campaign. Amal reached out to me asking me to help support her campaign to evacuate her, her daughter and her husband from Gaza. Before the war, Amal was completing her master's degree in French and caring for her daughter. Her daughter was 9 months when the war began and is now 1 year and 3 months old. Imagine spending such a formative time in your child’s life when they need they most care and resources in a war zone where you constantly fear for your family’s safety and struggle to survive. As you all know, the conditions in Gaza are horrifically dangerous and deadly, especially for young children. Amal and her family have been displaced multiple times by the genocidal Israeli army, with nowhere to go. There is very little aid going into Gaza right now and like many other families they struggle to find basic necessities. Life in tents is difficult and daily expenses are more than people can afford. On Amal's instagram she posted videos talking about the unbearable conditions her family live in. She urgently needs your support to raise money to evacuate her family.
