Aside from taking daily videos (which I’m still editing haha), I also wrote weekly notes throughout the year. I noticed that as I get older, the more I hang onto memories. That’s why I’m excited to read and relive them all tonight as the year comes to an end. Sayonara, 2017.
I've been waiting for this moment since I was a teenager singing my heart out to The Scientist on MTV. I joined several contests, fan groups, bombarded my friends with my love for Coldplay, etc. Who knew that I'll be seeing them in Germany? My head full of dreams indeed, now realized.
This personal project of mine was harder than expected. It all started with one-second video per day until it became random moments of the week and then finally just sticking to the big moments of the month. My goal at the beginning was to make year-end videos similar to those I see online; in the hopes of achieving a kick-ass, share-worthy video. Obviously, this was a not a good goal to begin with so I'm glad along the way, I did what I do best : just showing who I really am. These unfiltered videos reminded me of how gratifying the year that was and the people who made it more special for me. My heart is filled with so much gratefulness, it's gonna explode.
So, this is a week late but I'll say it nonetheless : Thank you for sharing 2016 with me and for giving me memories that I can possibly look back as much as I want to. Happy New Year.
International Music Festival // Headliner : Kanye West // Aseana Concert Grounds // April 2016 // originally uploaded at vimeo.com/joieannesophie (Hi-res)
This was a last-minute decision to attend due to the 50% probability of Kanye showing up. Fortunately, he did not flake and arrived at Manila (take note) a few hours before the concert. He did bring his A-game that night but more his rants--- no surprise there.
