Week 9 LSAD 11/11/2024. Brief 2 “Assemble”
Workshop Processes with Plaster with Sarah and Clay workshop.
During the workshop I wanted to create something like an abstract painting and experiment. First I rolled out the clay and pressed my objects into it using a small roller to leave an imprint. Then I carefully removed the objects. Finally I formed a frame of clay around the imprint so that the poured plaster would not leak out. Then I poured the plaster into the water (not the other way around!) and this process should be done under a hood because harmful dust was created. We add the plaster to the container with water in small portions, without stirring, waiting for the water to soak into it. When the container was filled with soaked plaster, we gently mix it by hand and pour it into the mold. Blowing on the mixture was helpful so that the plaster slowly filled all the nooks and crannies of the imprint. As a result, a convex, textured imprint of my objects came out. The plant compositions also look beautiful, which I will try someday.
The next step and experiment was to cover my plaster effect with wax, the result was a nice wax figure.
Feeling unsatisfied with working with clay, this week I went to another clay workshop to make a beautiful, large fruit bowl.

Week 7, LASAD 4-8/11/2024
Tuesday 7.11.2024
On Thursday 7.11 we were visited by Brian O’Shea, an artist known as Ireland 3000. Brian works on large-format prints and also makes creative representations of historical scenes. I really liked the way he prepared wooden elements, on which he applied ink and then made a huge print. These elements looked like a big puzzle.
Our task was to choose one of the proposals of famous works of old painters and create it in our own way. My team - me, Yullia, Daria, Valentyna and Diana - chose "The Birth of Venus" - Sandro Botticelli. The artist Brian O’Shea gave us advice and helped us understand the idea. Each of us embodied a character from the painting, I was a shell :) We took photos, cut out objects in Procreate and combined them into one composition. Under the guidance of Paul Tarpey, we projected our work on the wall and started creative experiments. We drew each character, moved the image, painted with dry pastels, and added ink. The final effect was a very interesting, colorful composition. Working in a group of creative people allowed me to look at art more casually :)

Week 7, LASAD 4-8/11/2024
Tuesday 5.11.2024
Tuesday 5.11 was the continuation of the “Between The Bridges” challenge. Our challenge was to take one image from our brochure and draw it on a larger scale on a long roll of paper. This was a collaborative effort with everyone throughout the year. I chose the bridge sketch because I liked the bright colors and thought it would stand out against everyone’s unique approach to the project. Our work combined them using different techniques: ink and color. It was a fantastic time spent in a group of creative people.
I used watercolor paints.

Week 7, LASAD 4-8/11/2024
Artist Visit - Peter Blodau - 04/11/2024
That day, the artist Peter Blodau visited our college. He traveled to many different countries, implementing his own projects, projects collectively and independently. I really like this kind of self-expression in art because in addition to discovering places, he could meet many interesting people, talk about their lives, learn many stories.
We received the project and brochures as a sketchbook, for team work in groups. The project was called "Between The Bridges", We worked outdoors, watching the river from the area around the bridges. It was a very interesting project and we also got beautiful weather!

Week 6 LSAD 21 - 25 /10/2024. Brief 2 "Assemble"
Workshop 4 - Filoconstructions (Textiles and Form Studio)
I decided to go back to the workshop and sew my first hat, using previously prepared floral decorations. On hot days, a head covering is an essential element of clothing. I thought that an elegant hat for a garden party would be a great element of clothing, and the floral patterns reflect the theme of my work.
The inspiration for sewing the hat was Philip Tracy. Over the past two decades, Philip Treacy's hats have been among the fashion world's most extraordinary creations. They have attracted the attention of iconic image-makers and icons from Grace Jones to Lady Gaga, Madonna to the Duchess of Cornwall.
I find such hats very beautiful and elegant, I decided to recreate this style.
In the first stage I cut out a template from the material, bought canvas material in a shop and got to work.

Workshop 3 - Filoconstructions (Textiles and Form Studio)
I love flowers, seriously! Following the theme of "garden party" I decided to sew a summer hat decorated with embroidered flowers and decorate it with fabric flowers.
This is a collection of my flower photos <3
In this workshop I embroidered flowers that will be sewn to the hat. I created floral decorations. I also prepared a form for cutting out the fabric for the hat. I will come back to this workshop :)

Week 4 LSAD 07 - 11 /10/2024. Brief 2 "Assemble"
Workshop 2 - Clay plus workshop
On the first day of the workshop we had the opportunity to learn how to work with clay, creating different structures according to our own design.
In the following days we continued working on Assemble projects. My theme is "garden party", so I prepared some decorations that are in the garden. My idea is clay pots with floral elements and a hanging basket for flowers, for which I used string as a pendant.
Decorate this stone using the decoupage method with a colorful tissue.

Week 3 LSAD 30/09/2024. Brief 2 "Assemble"
Workshop 1 - 3D constructions
In the first week of the workshop, my primary research, I made a table from cardboard and wooden sticks, 8x chairs from cardboard. As a tablecloth and chair cover I used canvas and decorated them with a red ribbon.
As an introduction to garden decorations, I used wire mesh to create a trellis into which I wove fresh twigs collected from the garden.
Additionally, I made 2 flower pots using a plaster bandage.
I decorated the pots with fresh twigs.
As a base, I decorated 60x60 plywood using the decoupage method.

Week 3 LSAD 30/09/2024. Brief 2 "Assemble"
When I imagined the table, I thought of wonderful family gatherings. I come from Poland, whenever I have the opportunity, I meet with my family, whom I miss very much. I thought that the title of the project would be great for such a family gathering. Often these are celebrations organized in the garden, so I chose the garden as the place for the family gathering. In the first project, I collected a gallery of photos of different tables.

Week 3 LSAD 30/09/2024. Brief 2 "Assemble"
When the Assemble project was announced, the first thing that came to my mind was a TABLE.
Tables have played an important role in people's lives throughout the ages, from ancient civilizations to modern society. In ancient times, tables were not only a place to eat, but also a central point of family and social life, being a symbol of hospitality, community and abundance. The table has always gathered people, it is usually located in the central part of the house. We sit at the table in a restaurant, cafe, during celebrations, we can spend time creatively at it.
