btw what order are you supposed to read the robin hobb books in? i own some of them but not all (yay thrift store) and am wondering whether i can start with what i have

ohhhhhh anon i am so happy to get an ask about the robin hobb books, you have no idea!! okay, so my recommended reading order for the realm of the elderlings novels goes like this: farseer trilogy -> liveship trilogy -> tawny man trilogy -> rain wilds chronicles -> fitz and the fool trilogy

yeah robin hobb has a very specific naming convention for her books but i can't fault her for it, it works lol

I keep seeing this theory that Adolin will revive Maya and become an Edgedancer and live happily ever after as a Radiant but like…Maya voluntarily sacrificed her life because she thought the Radiant bond was too dangerous to be allowed to exist. Why would she form one all over again? “Whoops, the Recreance was a mistake, time to help Adolin become Radiant #394947 now” would be decidedly underwhelming.

It’s more believable to me that she would convince Adolin that it’s a terrible idea and that he should try to get his father to disband the Order. Of course that would put him at odds with the other protagonists which a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily like. Fortunately for me, I love that kind of drama and think there needs to be some fractures on the “good” side soon to keep things interesting.

The concept of not using your top sheet is totally foreign to me. I guess it’s because I grew up in a drafty old house sleeping under down comforters, antique quilts, wool blankets and other pieces of bedding that were a sensory nightmare/difficult to clean. I see people in my generation joke about the uselessness of the top sheet and I’m like. Idk, I think it has a pretty important job to do protecting you from touching the creepy haunted quilt your great grandma sewed.
