Kakashi Week On Hiatus

Hello all! As we announced earlier this year, now that Kakashi Week 2024 is over, we are officially on indefinite hiatus.

Thank you all so much for 5 awesome years of Kakashi Week!

Your Kakashi Week Mod here is in need of a break, but may be back to run this event again sometime in the future if there's interest.

As for non-active stuff, we'll still be here - the archive of reblogged works from past years (and our AO3 collections) aren't going anywhere!

Kakashi Week 2024 Ends - Late Submission Period Ongoing!

Yo, everyone! We've been delighted to see so many of you participating and (hopefully) having fun!

Kakashi Week 2024 is over, but we will be accepting late submissions through the end of September. We'll continue to check here and our AO3 collection remains open until then - so if you have another thought or didn't have time to finish something, you've got a bit more time if you'd like!

Kakashi Week 2024 | Day 8 | Flora | Fauna

⠀⠀⠀⠀Day 8. Bonsai 🍃

|| Note. For this last day, my first idea was a drawing of Kakashi with a bamboo, due to the analogy between the two, but I didn’t know how to execute the idea :(

So I preferred to go with the song "Bonsai" by Alan Sutton and Las Criaturitas de la Ansiedad, for my lore (or something like that). I don’t know, these were sketches that came up and ended up fitting the flora theme. I had written out an explanation for each drawing, but it was too much and I was embarrassed to add even more text, sorry haha.

So, the Kakashi week comes to an end, and with it, my participation. Friends, it was really hard HAHAJ- But I made it 🙏🙏. In hindsight, I think I could have done better, but I promise that next year I'll try even harder. I really appreciate all the support, and I hope you liked it as much as I enjoyed drawing it. ❤️

Ninken are great to have during missions and invaluable for team vacations. Sometimes it seems entirely impossible to get through a whole day at the beach without wanting to scream or stab someone. and having a dog around to gently extract you from the situation before someone starts bleeding is... calming.

It's also good because sometimes a dog can offer some perspective in a way that isn't super annoying, lecturing or pleading. Their perspective isn't always right but when Akino suggested that "Obito might be acting like that because he got water in his ears while snorkling," well, Kakashi had to smile, even if it was against his will.

Ninken are also great at spotting tiny things that move and that's a great way to spend some time winding down—just watching tiny fish together as the sun starts to set and the others pack up for the day. While trying not to think about having to share a room...

(Obito is about to join them in the "what's so interesting down there?!" fish-watching very soon and it ends up with Kakashi telling Obito what species of fish they're watching and then Obito starts asking questions, with an attitude like he doesn't actually care at first but then like he's curious for real and Kakashi, who enjoys explaining things, gets to explain a lot of things about fish and he forgets all about why he was angry in the first place. Akino leans against his leg in a very comforting, warm beach dog kind of way and Kakashi thinks that maybe it's been an ok day at the beach after all...)

Sick day

For @kakashiweek day 7: prompt - stillness

Mini Ramble Below

I felt bad about my first draft, then got art block, then 50 different things happened to me, then this idea came to me. I don’t know if about y’all, but when I get sick time is unreal to me. Some moments go by so quickly, and others feel like I pressed the slowest playback speed by accident. Anyways, that’s my mini explanation on my thoughts as I drew this. Also it’s just nice to slap a gradient map onto something. I wish I could have drawn more, but it is what it is.
