It’s been a little over a year since you and Pam moved in together.

Two years since you’ve been together, after the disaster with Roy, you and Pam realized your feelings for each other. Before getting together with Pam, you were in a messy relationship yourself and things ended in disaster on your end as well.

After finding Pam, you found happiness. When you moved in together, the happiness had doubled. The happiness built even more after your relationship was revealed to everyone in the office and when everyone was genuinely supportive of it. Pam was not only your girlfriend, but your source of comfort, especially after when it’s been a rough day or even week in the office. You were an accountant, and though you were very talented at your job, being an accountant also meant you worked with Angela. As if being an accountant wasn’t stress enough, Angela had been a hard case, had been breathing down your neck not only just today but pretty much the whole week.

Picking at you for every little mistake you made at your job. The last straw for you came when she even started blaming you for the mistakes you didn’t even make. Pam could sense how stressed you were and how stressful this week at work had been for you, especially today. The kind of day you were having had sparked the idea to help you feel better and more at ease the moment you both get home. Because of mistakes you supposedly made, you had to stay at work late, but at least you weren’t there alone. After telling Pam you had to work late, she stayed with you and helped you fix things that needed to be fixed. Pam staying behind meant a lot to you. Although it wasn’t too late once you finally got done, it sure felt like it, it almost felt like you had already stepped into the next day. All because of the kind of day you had to endure, by the end of it, you were hanging by a thread and wanting nothing more than to go home and relax with Pam, get the weekend started.

The minute you both walk in your shared apartment, Pam orders you to make yourself comfortable while she took care of everything else.

“Are you sure?” you ask.

You had to admit, letting anyone do the things you usually do was something you were hesitant about.

“Absolutely I am. I know it’s been a hectic day for you and with Angela breathing down your neck the way she did, certainly did not help. Go and make yourself comfortable, do what you have to do and I’ll join you soon.”

“How soon is soon?” you tease.

“Soon. Why don’t you pick a movie for us to watch and we’ll watch it when I come back?”

“Copy that. Don’t take too long.”

“I’ll try my best.”

The both of teasing each other just now really did help you feel a little better.

You settled on the couch and decided on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for you to watch together. When you started smelling something good coming from the kitchen, you knew Pam was cooking up something you will enjoy together. You couldn’t have been anymore right about that. When Pam came back, she came back with a plate of quesadillas, just enough for you two to share and they were made in the exact way you like it. As she took her place next to you, you both cuddled up together before hitting the play button and taking the first bite of something good you had all day and began to really enjoy it with Pam.

“I’ve never tasted anything this good in my life, in a while at least.”

“Yeah?”

“Yes. This tastes amazing, thank you so much, Pam. I can’t remember the last time someone made me dinner.”

Pam chuckles and pulls you closer.

“Well, not only had I notice you were having a rough day, you were having a rough week. You deserve this more than anyone and just think, you made it through and we have the next couple of days to do whatever we want.”

“TGIF.” you say, causing Pam to laugh again.

“True that.”

The rest of the night was spent wrapped in each other’s arms and watching film after film together. At that moment, you really couldn’t be anymore happier.

Being together was all that mattered.

Something like the reader has had a really rough week and Pam makes dinner for them and then they curl up on the couch and watch a comfort movie after.. just something really fluffy… they can be in a pre established relationship and live together or they just like each other and aren’t together yet it’s totally up to you!

On the very first day of meeting Pam Beesly, you almost immediately felt a spark.

But knowing she was engaged to Roy, you kept the feelings to yourself, and thought that you were sure that Pam would never feel the same way about you.

When you found out she broke up with Roy for good, you thought there could be a small chance that you could win her. That was until you learned from Pam herself that Roy tried to attack Jim after telling him they had kissed just before they were supposed to get married. That was when you decided to try and forget about your true feelings for Pam, try to sweep it all under the rug as if they were never even there at all.

It’s been a little over a year now since you made the decision to forget, and it wasn’t going well for you. What made it a real challenge for you was when Pam started going out with Jim, but you tried your best to make it seem as if it didn’t bother you at all. However, you are surprised one day to learn that they had actually broke up after only a few months of dating, and you couldn’t help but wonder why. You made a mental note to ask Pam but you never got around into doing so. It wasn’t until an office party that came into place did you actually get around to having a real conversation with Pam, something neither of you had done in quite a while. The conversation was nice, in the middle of it, you decided that the both of you would help Oscar gather the courage to talk to Matt.

Matt worked in the warehouse and was the only other gay guy you both knew, and thought they should be together.

Throughout this little adventure shared together, you were unaware of the fact that Pam had a confession and you’re the only person she could talk to about it, as it really only involved you.

During the party, Pam asked to talk to you somewhere more private and you agreed. She lead you back into the break room since it was empty and quickly spilled the beans before she could change her mind.

“I wanted to talk to you about my break up with Jim.” she says.

“I’m all ears. You can tell me anything.” you promise.

“It’s the reason I broke up with him.” Pam stated slowly.

She almost sounded hesitant and that brought the worst case scenario into your mind.

“Did he do something to you? What did he do?! I’ll kick his ass!” you say.

Pam only laughed. 

“No, he didn’t do anything. I broke up with him because of you.”

“I don’t understand…”

“Because I’ve had feelings for you I probably shouldn’t be having. I have for quite some time now and I have been trying to ignore it, but I can’t. I just can no longer do that, as it’s eating me alive. I’ve had these feelings for you pretty much since I was engaged to Roy, back when I first met you. I understand if you don’t feel the same way, I just needed you to know. If this makes things weird between us, I understand. As I’ve said, I just needed you to know.”

You couldn’t believe what you were hearing, you almost didn’t dare to believe this was real because it was just too good to be true. When you decided to believe it and accept it, you couldn’t help but smile big as you begin making your own confession involving your own feelings for her.

“Pam, you have no idea how happy you just made me. I’m beyond words because I’ve been feeling the same way about you and I’m not just saying that. I was afraid to say anything and even to admit these feelings to myself because I was unsure of how it might make you feel. The last thing I ever want to do is make you uncomfortable.”

At first, Pam looked as though she didn’t know what to say.

But she was quick to find her voice.

“I honestly never would have guessed you feeling the same way, but I’m over the moon happy to know that you do. I think that in my heart, I knew it was always you and this moment proves it. If you’re up for it, I’d like to give us a try and see where things go between us. Is that something you’d like to do? We can go out for drinks later, just the two of us, on a date.”

“I’d love nothing more! If you would like, we can ditch on this office party and go to Poor Richard’s.”

“That sounds wonderful, let’s go!”

At the end of the night, you knew that Pam was right; it was always you.

For you, it was her.

Finer Things

The Finer Things Club is the most exclusive club in the office. For as long as you remember, reading is one of your most favorite activities to do in your pass time.

Today, you decide to have your lunch in the conference room, seeing that the break room was already taken by Pam, Oscar, and Toby. The break room is where you would usually go and read during your breaks, but today, you seek concentration in the conference room.

The book you were currently reading was “A Room With a View” and although you had started it just a few days ago, you’re already halfway through it. Just as the conference room was becoming your library, your quiet space, you are suddenly interrupted by Pam Beesly, the once receptionist. Which you didn’t mind since Pam was not only your friend, but she was the one person you were closest to out of everyone in the office. You both share one big thing in common and that is, you both love to read.

“Is that A Room With a View?” Pam asks.

“Yeah. I just started this a few days ago and I’m already halfway through it.”

Pam was now very excited because little did you know, that’s the same book The Finer Things Club was just about to start reading together.

“You know of the Finer Things Club, right?”

“Of course, it’s the most exclusive club in the office. Why do you ask?”

“Well, the book you’re reading is the the same book that has been on the Finer Things list to read and it’s up next. We’re just about to start and it’s the one I really wanted to read. I’m just really excited to see you’re reading the same book.”

“You’re going to love it! I can guarantee you that! You won’t be disappointed in the slightest in it, it’s a book I definitely would recommend for anyone to give a read. So far, it’s five stars read in my case.”

Pam’s eyes lit up as she smiles wider, then she suddenly seemed shy.

“What’s up?” you ask.

“I was wondering if you would let me take you on a date to the next club meeting, and that if I could borrow your copy?”

“Really? What’s the meeting going to be like?”

“Well, Oscar, Toby, and I are the founders of the Finer Things Club. We meet once a month to discuss books and art, celebrate culture in a very civilized way. Sometimes the debate gets heated, but we’re always respectful. There is no paper, no plastic, and no work talk allowed. It’s very exclusive.”

Once Pam explained everything you needed to know, you happily agree to attend the next meeting with Pam.

This would be your first date with Pam, and the meeting was interesting. You let Pam borrow your copy of A Room With A View and as the meeting started with some heated topics, Andy walks in and sits between you and Pam at the table. The meeting started with delicious food, food that you were helping yourself to after Pam insisted. Andy was holding the same book in hand, and the way he was trying to push his way in the meeting he wasn’t invited to before he eventually agreed to leave. Not long after your date with Pam in the club meeting, you watch from your desk as a letter was handed over to Andy, the letter informing him he was on the wait list.

As you were buried in mountains of work, you’re unaware that Pam had gotten you accepted in the Finer Things Club and she was now approaching your desk with an envelope in hand.

“What’s this?” you ask, picking it up.

“Open it and see.”

The first thing you read once you opened it, you read “Congratulations!” on it and that’s all you need to know to understand where this was heading to before reading any further.

“Are you asking me to join the Finer Things Club?” you ask.

“Yep!” Pam smiles at you.

“Well than, I’m honored to have been invited to join. Therefore, I happily accept the invitation. I’m in!” you say.

Andy, not far from you witnessed this and had an immediate reaction.

“Oh! Come on!”

You were very happy and excited to accept, you were ready to join the club, the Finer Things Club.
