perhaps my favorite sansa moment of book one is when she asks her septa whether lord beric is going to put gregor clegane鈥檚 head up on the walls of his own castle or bring it back to kings landing to put it up on the walls of the red keep - she and jeyne had been arguing about it, you see.

Hair - With the cold/wind in the Vale, hairstyles where the hair is pulled back from the face would probably be preferred. This is merged with the relative wealth in the Vale which can be showed off through hair nets and pearl accents, with long hair being shown off as an indicator of wealth - having maids to brush and take care of it, but still needing to be pulled back due to the weather.

Dresses - Swiss/The Alps influences. Rich and detailed fabrics to convey wealth, relatively structured with high or covered necklines. Capes are useful to guard against the wind and lots of fur lined cloaks (again wealth), of course there's a lot of blue for house Arryn, but other houses (e.g Royce) would favour others (browns and blacks) but in similar styles.
Dressing Westeros - The Vale
i wish we could see more of the vale in the series, but bloody lysa has to stay out of the way during the war and we only really get back there with sansa/alayne. My favourite house definitely is Royce tho, they're so cool

cersei is crashing out because of the most straightforward prophecy in the series (you will be queen. your husband will cheat on you. your children will die. you will die) she wouldn't last an hour in the shoes of daenerys targaryen who has received a series of increasingly concerning and cryptic prophecies from like 3 different sources just in the last 2 years

crisnyra is still like crack to me... princess and the knight subverted by rhaenyra being more of a "prince" (tying her in with daemon) and shouldering more responsibility. her initiating their sexual encounter as a way to emulate daemon but criston doesnt know that he thinks he's got a perfect courtly love affair with a maiden princess so when she breaks up with him for her duty (which isnt love or marriage to another but a responsibility to a kingdom) he realizes HE's the girl HE's the shafted one ohhhhh...

Baby Stannis gently nursing an injured bird back to health when no one else would and naming her Proudwing until the bird loved him and perched on his shoulder and followed him around until he abandoned the her because Robert told him it was gay to have an animal friend who couldn鈥檛 do violence is still so evocative to me like I鈥檓 genuinely so so sad thinking about it

you know what I'm glad cersei ignored every warning she ever got about daenerys. for her own mental health
IMAGINE if she found out that this stupid targaryen teenager people keep trying to tell her about was a young queen hailed as the most beautiful girl in the world who frequently walks around wearing a dead lion over her head. her brain would MELT

Do you think that knowing Lyanna she agreed to be Rhaegar's lover and leave her son without a future? Why do Rhaelya shippers think she agreed to be Rhaegar's lover?
Well, I mean, I think Lyanna went with Rhaegar willingly.
I don't think there's any possibility for full and free consent in the relationship, given Lyanna's age compared to Rhaegar's, the nature of Rhaegar's social station, the situation she was in with her betrothal, and the nature of what starting that relationship meant (travel, hiding), but I think that Lyanna thought she was making an informed, adult choice to leave. I think she had a crush on Rhaegar and that available evidence showed her he reciprocated. I think she was weighing up her options in a world where her father was planning to make her marry Robert. It has long been my theory that Lyanna suggested a marriage between her and Rhaegar so she'd be better protected.
I also think the author is very likely to emphasise the romantic aspects to the initial elopement - not because he's ignorant of the various problems in the relationship, but to highlight those problems. To contrast that romantic narrative with the more questionable reality underneath.
That more questionable reality I think is more likely to come out when we hear about the end of that relationship, the point where I think Lyanna was not staying with Rhaegar/in Dorne of her own free will. After such minor issues like Rhaegar's father murdering half Lyanna's own family (for trying to rescue her from apparent abduction, no less), and Rhaegar going out to fight a war against one of her surviving brothers to defend said father. Things she did not foresee happening when she left.
I think Lyanna made a mistake, in short, borne of youth, inexperience, romanticism, and desperation. I think she initially thought it would be all right. She'd be married, everyone would understand eventually, any children she had would be protected by the vows she and Rhaegar made.
She was wrong. Horribly, tragically, wrong.

you know those posts that are like 'oh we should cut horror movie protagonists some slack, they don't know that they're in a horror movie'? catelyn tully stark knows that she's in a horror movie. she's the first to recognize the dead direwolf as an omen to ned, telling him not to go south. she's the one who recognizes the fire of winterfell library as a distraction for the catspaw to kill bran. she's the only one of in the hall of lords declaring robb as King in the North to feel the sense of doom as it happens. she tells robb to keep his direwolf close, and to eat of walder frey's bread and salt immediately. she's the first to recognize the Rains of Castamere playing during the feast. she was canonically the Final Girl of the red wedding. and she died anyway.
