You were bitten by a vampire but you didn't die, instead the vampire died. The next day, you're captured by vampires and marked as unsafe for consumption. All because you had a rare, incurable condition in your blood. Cool, now you are a vampire slayer who kills vamps by letting 'em bite you.

At first it seems like the best solution. You dealed with heroes earlier, so what can go wrong? But soon you realize that the little jokes about evil overload are constant part of layovers. At first they were like "How many minions overload need to attach a torch?" or silly singing "What do we do with the drunken lordy". But after awhile they are getting stronger and stronger. And you're the only one that don't say anything, which starts to feel suspisious. So you try to recall all crazy and humiliating rumors about yourself. And becouse you don't know any, you just tell real stories. Suspisious? Oh, you just worked there few years ago and now try to revenge or something.

And it works. Heroes love those stories. They ask you to tell them again and again. And you're telling them, becouse you also love them. Those are your favorite memories from the old days. That one time when you gave all of your minions a day off, forgot about it, and then thought they were kidnapped so you invaded little village nearby. Or when you got drunk and tortured one of your sculptures. And the fact that heroes also laugh makes you feel better. Of course you're still evil, it's just nice to share those stories.

You're halfway through that jurney and heroes want to hear another funny story about that evil overload. But you don't remember any more. So instead you just tell them about that "funny situation from his childhood" which is just one of your bad memories you learnt to laugh about. And suddenly noone's laughing, not even a snort. Everyone is serious and concerned. And after few quiet minutes they pitty him. Yeah, he's still evil but even evil person don't deserve such parents.

You're shocked. Are they that stupid or it's just another kind of joke. You don't know and don't ask just like they don't ask about other stories.

Many years after the evil overlord was deafeated by the forces of the light, there are whispers rumors that the evil overlord has secretly returned to his citadel. You know immediately it could only be an imposter, as you are in fact the evil overlord, living a peaceful simple life in exile.
