So I poster the first chapter of this AU, with some changes from the original idea. Hope you guys like it!
Hear me out, Hunger Games AU where magic still exists, and Remus is a mentor.
Give me a world where the arena is Hogwarts, the lost HQ of the previous rebellion against Voldemort. An arena made to shift every year, while still keeping the backbone of the castle. A world where magic is for those in the Capitol, where wizards and witches are forbidden to learn or use their magic in their district.
Where Remus wins is game as a 12-year-old boy because they brought werewolves as a threat, and he survived the attack. This little boy watched his body shift, and hurt, then he falls asleep in agony, and wakes up alone, surrounded by corpses, the last survivor of the Hunger Games.
Remus who grows up between his home in district 10, where wolves are a cursed for eating the stock, where his father barely holds his eyes anymore because he is sure it's because he protested against the peacekeepers that his son was reaped in the first place; and in the Capitol who treats him like an animal for display, where he meets his maker Fenrir Greyhound.
Moody stays the mentor of their tributes, it's not like they would listen to Remus anyway when they side-eye him and are taller and older than him. But Remus comes too, because the Capitol likes him. Well, not really, they like the bloodlust they saw in him on TV.
As miserable as it was, that's where Remus met his best friends. First a 14-year-old from district 4, James Potter, who won the sponsors' attention and survived the longest in the sky-high cliffes of his arena. Then a boy from the Capitol, son of one of the most prolific family of sponsors, Sirius Black, who ran away at 16 to live with the Potters back in district 10. It's only thanks of the Potters relations back at the capitol that the matter wasn't investigated further. And at last a 16-year-old from district 10 too, Peter Pettigrew who had the merrit of not insulting him back home, and who he helped train under Moody for the first time. Peter won by hiding most of his game, like Remus did, his first and only proud moment as a mentor.
Then came the seeds of their rebellion. Not the first, neither the last, not according to Moody. It took years of preparation, organisation and helpless observation, meddling with Fenrir and his pack, but they thought they had found a way to end this for good. The baby boy James and his wife Lily, a victor from district 5, would grow in a world free of the Games and the Capitol.
But the rebellion is discovered. Lily and James are killed. Sirius Black is arrested for the murder of Peter Pettigrew and citizens of the Capitol. Only Remus remained, shown as the perfect Victor.
Years pass by, and one day, little Harry Potter is reaped. And District 4 hasn't had a victor since Lily and Harry, so Remus volunteer to mentor him with Severus Snape, a victor from district 5.
Then will come the second rebellion. Honestly, those are just random ideas. Sunrise on the Reaping just made me feel so many emotions and I wish to read something Remus-centric in this universe.
Also, I strongly picture District 10 as Wales, with its green hills and ruins. Some Welsh still linger, but the langage is slowly disappearing like any form of national identity.

Ohhhh I'm going insane. I think at some point during the development of veilguard the shadow dragons were not going to lose their hq if you didn't save Minrathous cause there is recorded voice over mentioning Ashur’s current blighted status and even a line from Dorian that would have had Dorian mention that he helped fight off the dragon during its attack. @/corseque matched up speakers to script lines and organized it all by conversation (I adore them sooo much for their work it's so NICE to be able to tell whos saying what for most of the script) and there are multiple mentions in Tarquins On Click VO, Ashurs On Click and ambient VO, and Dorians On Click VO that would only fit if you could talk to them post Minrathous being devastated.
*Dorian flashing back to my inquisitor dragging him and Bull along to kill all the high dragons in the south* and just so many lines referencing Ashur being sick-
Its tough to verify all the voice over lines are recorded or not at the moment because ealayer3 is veryyy finicky right now on what VO files it will open or just decide to crash at but Dorians line and the first line from Tarquin on this post ive checked and they are recorded.
Sadly Ashur's On Click and ambiant VO files crash when I open them at the moment but with the other lines having been recorded its likely his are too even if they're not implemented in the game. It would have been SO COOL to see and visit blighted Ashur over the course of the game if you didn't save Minrathous. I would have loved to see that progression.

Just a Quick question, I know there are a few dialogue options available if you play a mage Rook, and none when you play warrior, so I was wondering if anyone found any rogue specific dialogues? I also have the same questions with a human Rook, can their lineage give them more dialogue options like Qunari, dwarf and elf Rook?

Hello 👋
Thank you! If you do post I’d totally appreciate having that to reference! I was actually thinking of loading a save to replay the discussion. Mythal acknowledging a dwarven rook’s lineage actually sounded kind of familiar too, but I totally couldn’t remember exactly what was said.
I really appreciated reading your post! And I felt similarly when I saw Harding and Dwarven Rook’s reaction. The lore drops from the memories were exciting, but it’s disappointing that the consequences from what happened to the dwarves weren’t addressed along with this revelation. Veilguard’s writing is a little frustrating with not approaching certain topics like this.
Hi! I posted the clip if you're still interested, sorry it took me a while.
Thank you that's very nice!! I love dwarves, especially in Dragon Age, so I was very happy with the few elements we got, it's not much but better than DA2 and DAI which left us starving, but I do wish it was handled with more care too. The lore about the Titans is cool and important to the main plot, but how it connects with the dwarves feel unconnected, and kind of a side thought. I do have hopes they have some things planned for DA5, especially with what can happen with Harding, Orzammar's state at the end of DATV and Kal-Sharok's new understanding of the situation (I swear the day we're finally allowed to visit Kal-Sharok is the day I die a happy man).

Here are is the dialogue with Mythal if you're a Dwarf Rook, in case anyone wants it! It is kind of sad that there's only a violent option, I wished it could have been adressed more, oh well.
