PlantFusion is sponsoring my new year! (Diet Challenge)

So a little back story for those of you who are not familiar with me- I am a protein shake addict. There is no use in denying it, and quite frankly, I embrace it. Maybe I need help, but it's not like there's an... P.S.A.(Protein Shake Anonymous?), so looks like either way- am stuck with it. But honestly, who could blame me for being in love with them?!? They are a great way to get protein and other nutrients, plus, they can make for a quick'n easy meal too! And now, I have a reason to love them even more!<3

I received an email from my favorite plant based protein shake company sometime in the middle of December 2016 telling me of an opportunity for them to "Sponsor my New Year"- of course, I applied immediately.

A few weeks went by and the deadline for them to contact me as being accepted pasted- I was a little disappointed, but was positive that there were thousands of others who had also applied with better reasons to be chosen. My reasoning was because I wanted to "Finally love my body and to feel worthy of standing next to my U.S.Marine boyfriend." And a guess that was a good enough reason for them too, because a few more days later I received another email stating that "Plantfusion is going to Sponsor your New Year"! - You could say I was a little bit excited.

So after some swapping of information- addresses, shirt size, flavors of protein powder wanted- the date for all 50 of us to start busting are butts working out and drinking two shakes a day was set to be the day after the Super Bowl, February 6th.

"But Lady?"

I hear you ask. "If the program started on February 6th, then way are you only telling us about this now"  Well, my fellow reader, that is because the USPS is completely incapable of doing there job of delivering packages on time- and that is why I get to start my challenge on March 1st, which is today.

So here's to finally getting to do this! Woo!

So what's this sponsorship all about? Well for starters, and most importantly, the shake itself- PlantFusion LEAN.

PlantFusin LEAN is one of

PlantFuison's

 plant-based (vegan) protein powders, and their main one to support weight loss and to help curb hunger when taken 30 minutes before two main meals twice a day. It comes in two flavors, Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Brownie, has only 170 calories per serving, contains 21 grams of protein, and is incredibly delicious!<3

The sponsorship involves us to simply drink two shakes a day and to workout. Each of us will be getting two packages containing two bottles of LEAN (which is a 20 day supply when drinking two shakes a day), a t-shirt, a blender bottle, and a few other PlantFusion goodies<3

PlantFusion Taste Test!

This line of protein powders was actually recommended to me by two of my boyfriend's family members. They said it was a great tasting shake that actually helped keep you feeling full- one thing I always look for in a protein shake- so I decided to purchase a sample pack of their original flavors from the PlantFusion website for $10.00- not a bad price given the fact they include a $5.00 coupon for a full size bottle.  Below you'll find a review of the three flavors they sent me and I have to say this has to be the best powder protein shake mixes I've ever had! I also contacted the company asking if the produce was "Raw" and less then 24 hours later I had a nice email from them telling me that PlantFusion was in fact not heated in anyway and was made from plant-based sources! So not only are the mixes vegan, gluten-free, soy free, and hypoallergenic- they are also raw!

Cookies and Cream

Calories: 120 Total Fat: 2 grams Saturated Fat: 0 Cholesterol: 0 Sodium: 390 mg Potassium: 125 mg Total Carbohydrate: 4 grams Sugars (from fructose): 4 grams Protein: 21 grams

Ingredients:

​​ Smell: It actually smells like cookies and cream!

Mixture: I mixed powder with 12 oz of water and blended in my ninja for 10 seconds. Mixture looked smooth with about a inch of foam on top.

Warm taste: Not the greatest- but I've never been able to handle drinking protein shakes warm. The texture was completely smooth though, not a bit of powder or that terrible calk feel anywhere.

Chilled Taste: I dropped about six ice-cubes in and waited about three minutes for it to chill the mixture. WAY BETTER. I can't quite place the taste though. It definitely has a strong "cookie" kick, like oreos, but what the cookie's swimming in is a loss to me. Maybe chocolate?

Overall: It's definitely something I would drink again! And out of all the protein powders I've tried, this is by-far the best. The only thing that gets me is the weird "cookie" taste, because while drinkable, I'm not 100% sure how to feel about it.

Rating:  3.5 of 5 hearts The only thing stopping it from getting that last heart is the weird "cookie" taste. Thinking back to it, it's also a reason to knock off another .5 of a heart.

Vanilla Bean

Nutrition Facts:

Calories: 120 Total Fat: 2 grams Saturated Fat: 0 Cholesterol: 0 Sodium: 390 mg Potassium: 60 mg Total Carbohydrate: 4 grams Sugars (from fructose): 4 grams Protein: 21 grams

Ingredients:

Smell: Hinting of vanilla, but very little

Mixture: Once again I mixed with 12 oz of water and blended it in the ninja- like before mixture looked smooth with about a inch of foam on top.

Warm taste: What can I say? I just cant enjoy a warm protein shake.

Chilled Taste: Six Ice cubes and of course the taste improved! While not bad, it wasn't overly vanilla-ish. It was smooth and refreshing though- one, if not the best vanilla protein powder I've ever had.

Overall: Because this is one of the easiest flavors of PlantFusion to find, it will most likely become a staple in my pantry. Again, one of the best protein powders I've had. I just wish it had a strong taste of vanilla and not just a hint.

Rating: 4 of 5 hearts. While the flavor isn't bad, it's just barley taste like vanilla.

Chocolate:

Smell: Like a chocolate cake mix. 

Mixture:  Mixed with 12 oz of water once again in the ninja- as with the other two mixture came out looking smooth with an inch or foam on top.

Warm taste:  This one actually wasn't that bad warm. I still wouldn't ever go out of my way to drink it this way regardless- but then again that's just my preference.

Chilled Taste: 

Once again the taste improved greatly after adding ice. While not bad, I wouldn't say it's the best chocolate protein shake I've ever had (but that's me comparing it to very unhealthy alternatives like Slimquick), but as far as being a powder shake it's not bad and taste pretty good too. 

Overall:  Once again PlantFusion has come on top  for providing another great tasting protein shake! When I can't find the vanilla, or just ever want to switch it up, I'll never have a problem reaching for this one!

Rating: 4 of 5 hearts.
