I got a new pillow recently and let me tell you, my dreamscape has become WILD. Let me give you an idea of what my imagination is churning up these days:
A goat named Travis, colored much like a tabby cat, who met his tragic end facing down a renegade car who flattened him on the street.
In another dream, I walked by a handful of people surreptitiously putting on KKK robes on a street corner in a residential neighborhood. In one of the greatest feats of counter protest this last week, my dream-self decided to dismantle white supremacy with the immortal line: “Those sheets belong in the laundry!” You’re welcome for the end of racism.
Last night’s dream concerned a musical I could have sworn was real given how vivid it all was. It’s a Welsh musical with folksy/country music with a strong bass-line reminiscent of the Twin Peaks theme song (but peppier). I invented an entire personal history with this musical, “remembering” my mom recording it on video cassette when I was a child, etc. I even time traveled to the Tony awards at which this would have been honored and saw Billy Crystal et al. The best part of the dream though is that my brain concocted a name for this musical that I remembered upon waking. Since it was a Welsh musical, it naturally had a Welsh title. I should state upfront that I am an American with absolutely no knowledge of the Welsh language whatsoever. None. I know about as much Welsh as I know how to perform a brain surgery. Nevertheless, the title my sleep brain provided was Glyych. Turns out is IS a welsh word.  What majestic and elegant title did my dream-Welsh-brain provide for the masterly musical?

Some might says that Brazilian artist Heloisa is really bad at drawing cats, but when you compare her source photos to her drawings, it’s clear that she’s really quite skilled. She uses her pen to capture the purrfect essence of each cat she draws, including this unsettling feline photo glitch:
