During the torture scene in Afghanistan, Tony seems to call out Pepper's name, so like... in our personal AU where Mr. Stank is our man, he'd call out our name. Which is obviously like very sad because he's being tortured and all, but like, the fact he'd call out our name when he's at his most vulnerable and afraid is quite something, right?

Alright, wait a second... Yinsen knew Tony before Afghanistan. They met at some conference or whatever. So like, imagine if he actually met both you and Tony at that conference, you were already together but not married yet. And if he remembers Tony, he probably remembers you too! So when he sees your picture in Tony's pocket he recognizes you, then he sees the wedding ring!

Imagine if your and Tony's anniversary is somewhere during those 3 months he was in captivity in Afghanistan. And that day he's just moping around all day, he doesn't talk, he barely touches his food, and he spends most of his time staring at and caressing the picture of you he carries around and toying with his wedding ring... and Yinsen asks what's up. And Tony answers with "it's my wedding anniversary today. I should be home pampering my wife, not here building weapons and being tortured. Fuck, it seems like whatever they do to me still won't hurt more than being away from her...". And honestly Yinsen legit feels bad for Tony, because he misses his own family too... maybe they find a bit of comfort in sharing some stories about their wives over dinner.

Tony being extra sad and frustrated that day, then telling Yinsen (when it's about evening time back home) "I should be on a date right now... I should be checking out a new restaurant downtown with my wife right now 😔😔😔". Maybe Yinsen even tries a new recipe with the limited canned food they have in an attempt to try and cheer Tony up. But Tony probably just spends dinner time sitting in the corner, eating quietly while staring at a photo of you he had on him when he was kidnapped.

You beg him to please be careful out there and come back home safe and he promises he'll come back safe and sound.

Then, 3 months later, when he finally comes back from Afghanistan, the first thing he says to you is "sorry I missed date night" 😭

I mean let’s be honest, sometimes (even if you don’t know) he’s leaving the house wondering if he’ll actually come back so :(

the thing about Tony not being able to leave without saying bye bye is that if you're still asleep by the time he needs to leave, he's gonna pester you until you wake up so he can get his kissy bye bye 🤧 he'll keep nuzzling his face against your neck and cuddling into you while whispering your name and some petnames until you wake up so he can say bye and kiss you 🥺

He’s just like “I’m sorry I just wanted to say bye 🥺👉👈” when you do wake up, especially if you tend wake up all grumpy (like me 😭) when woken up 🤧

There's an RDJ interview from a while back where he says he didn't wanna leave home without saying bye to his wife, who was busy with some guests, and the guests had to be like "uh... I think your husband is trying to say bye" and she was jokingly like "oohh you need your kissy bye bye?" or something and he was like "nevermind, I'll just leave 😐". And I bet Tony's just like that! He needs to say bye and have a little kiss before he leaves 🥺 he'll follow you around like a puppy to get his kissy bye bye
