Minhyuk: We are Frustrated

On March 24, 2025, an anonymous X/ Twitter account broke the news that Lee Minhyuk from Monsta X had a girlfriend. The account released several photos of the two and very detailed information about his schedule.
The account alleged that during Lunar New Year, Minhyuk flew to Japan to spend a week with his girlfriend. They claimed that he delayed his flight for as long as possible and barely returned in time for fashion week.
Interestingly enough, the fan claimed that they weren't upset that Minhyuk had a girlfriend. They stated that they were just frustrated that he wasn't working despite promising Monbebe (Monsta X's fandom) that he would try to see them. Other fans agreed that if they are spending money on him, then he should work. That, or he should quit being a celebrity if he was so comfortable.
On the bright side of this situation, it is a breath of fresh air to see fans not getting upset that their favorite celebrity is dating. However, they are still clearly showing their entitlement.
Monsta X has gone through a lot over the years of their career. After being mistreated by their company and losing a member over false accusations, who wouldn't want a break or to settle down with someone they love? While the frustration of not seeing your favorite celebrity is understandable, the lack of privacy is alarming.
Everyone in this group (including Wonho) deserves some semblance of peace. I say, let Monsta X be. When they are ready, they will return on their own.

Mark Lee: Side Hustle

No matter what you read about Mark Lee in social media, the headline will always talk about the fact that he does not stop working. He's part of four SM Entertainment groups, yet he still somehow finds time to do things on the side, such as writing music. Interestingly enough, things do not stop there for the popular rapper.
It was recently discovered that Mark has his own Youtube channel under the name "tiurftsrifehtkram". Since the channel's name isn't in any way related to him, the videos didn't have many views.

However, after its discovery, netizens quickly fell in love with his content as it seemed to give off "boyfriend vibes". It showed behind-the-scenes short videos of his life outside of SM Entertainment.
In one of the videos, he was seen on a popular Korean market site called Daangn Market. On the website, he focussed dominantly on translating for others, which he seems to take very seriously. He also offered free English lessons to many.

Mark seems to buy books from other accounts, which is seen within the same video. Cleverly, he also started advertising his album's merchandise.
Despite being so busy, Mark still found time to pursue the things he loves. This, in turn, caused many netizens to fall more in love with the artist as it shows he is truly dedicated to himself and not just his craft.
Good for you, Mark Lee! Keep pushing.
God bless.

Kim Saeron: What's Really the Truth?

Warning: What follows contains very graphic information pertaining to Kim Saeron. Please read with caution.
The following is a brief update on everything going on following the passing of Kim Saeron.
Controversial YouTuber Lee Jinho claimed that Saeron was married. He also claimed that the actress was at one point pregnant but aborted the baby.
A "close friend"/ ex-boyfriend of Kim Saeron, currently going by the initials K, said that her family is to blame for her passing, not Kim SooHyun. Allegedly, her husband (yes, she was married) was very abusive - both verbally and physically. The friend stated that instead of helping her, they left her to get abused. This led Saeron to commit self-harm. At one point, it was so bad that she had to get surgery. K was the only one at her side. He released alleged text messages between him and Saeron discussing the abuse and how she couldn't press charges against him because he was American.
Kim Saeron's mother came out and claimed that while she did have a complicated relationship with her daughter, it was nowhere close to causing her death. Her mother was her manager who opposed some of her decisions - that was all. Mrs. Kim claimed that the company tried to scam them using a fake medical bill that perfectly rounded off the charges. They still do not know where the money she was charged went.
Kim Saeron's husband came out denying all claims above. He said that she was never pregnant and that their marriage was not blackmail. In addition, he stated that he never abused her and is willing to fully cooperate with the police if needed.
Netizens were upset that Jinho and SooHyun were trying to redirect the conversation to something other than the fact that SooHyun dated Saeron as a minor. Netizens are calling for the police to continue their investigation against SooHyun.
This entire situation is just so sad, especially since it is he says, she says. It seems that Saeron's family, however, is standing their ground and trying to provide as much evidence as they can. The most saddening part of all this is that Saeron is not here to defend herself.

Ateez: Taken For Granted

Ateez is a very successful 4th generation K-pop boy group under KQ Entertainment. In 2024 alone, they sold over 1 million albums and were ranked in the top 5 on the Billboard charts. In addition, they were the first K-pop boy group to headline Coachella. Of course, if you follow the group, you will know that none of their achievements are surprising as they are well-rounded in vocals, dance, and rap.
However, the problem with Ateez isn't that they're problematic, as (right now) they are doing well to educate themselves on international issues. It is that they were a small group that started under a small company. While it has its perks such as being the foundation of the company and the reason it grows, it can also backfire greatly. For example, bigger companies are usually known to pick on the little guy so much so that rumors are circulating that bigger companies are actively trying to stop Ateez's success in South Korea. Think about it, how come they are so big internationally, but for some reason, they aren't gaining much traction at home?
Anyway, today we aren't here to discuss rumors. Instead, we will talk about the blatant fact that Ateez is constantly being taken advantage of since they are from a small company. Their biggest run-in with others has been their content (however small) being plagiarized.
Vata:
In 2019, Ateez released their successful song, "Say My Name". This included a driving move that was very iconic to the choreography of the song. A famous choreographer by the name of Vata claimed that he invented the move in 2022. However, he was not the original choreographer of Ateez's song and, therefore, this sparked outrage amongst fans, especially because he was acquaintances with one of the members. Wooyoung, a member of the group, quickly responded with the "biting" sign which indicates that a move was copied or stolen.
At first, people didn't agree with Atinys (Ateez's fandom). However, as time passed, people's minds changed as Vata started stealing multiple moves from different groups (including Shinee) and even going as far as stealing traditional African dances and calling them his own. He is now being labeled as a culture vulture who has no respect for other choreographers.
Soyeon:
In 2019, Ateez's released the song "Wave". The song was a catchy summer-themed song that did numbers for the group. It was the lead track on their album that year that went on to get them their first win. In 2022, (G)-IDLE's Soyeon released a song that sounded exactly like Ateez's Wave. Atinys immediately noticed this and brought it up. Again, K-pop fans fought them. However, not too long after, Soyeon apologized and Ateez's producer, Edenary, was credited with the song.
Eltee Skhillz:
As stated above, Ateez's song "Say My Name" was released in 2019. However, this plagiarism allegation also involves another one of their songs -- "The Real", which was released in 2021. Well in 2022, a Nigerian singer by the name of Eltee Skhillz, plagiarized both of Ateez's songs and culturally appropriated Korean culture. I will not be naming his song as I do not want to give it any attention, but I will add a link that shows most of the similarities. And yes, the song was very popular internationally.
3WICH - Kicking Your Face:
In 2022, Ateez's released the song "Guerilla". The intro of the song was sampled by Edenary, however, the rest of the song is strictly theirs from what I gathered. In 2024, on a Taiwanese show, a group called 3WICH performed the song "Kicking Your Face" and let me tell you, this sounds exactly like "Guerilla".
Not sure but something in 2022 must have screamed "Plagerize Ateez Year" but it seems most of us missed the memo.
youtube
4Ever - Silly Love Game:
In November 2024, Ateez released their hit song, "Ice On My Teeth". The music video has a very distinct vibe and story, which follows their storyline. Not even 5 months later, a group called 4Ever released a music video called "Silly Love Game" that followed the exact vibe, concept, and overall music video of Ateez's song. You might think I'm exaggerating, but here is the side by side.
As you can tell from above, people are not beside themselves when it comes to plagerizing Ateez or anyone from KQ Entertainment. In fact, it seems like it is a neverending tale because, truthfully, the list goes on. These are just some of the ones that have gained traction across Twitter.
While some of these matters have been resolved, with apologies from some people and credits being rightfully given, a plethora of these allegations are unresolved. The most recent one being against K-pop girl group 4Ever has only sparked the conversation again. In fact, many are discussing why KQ Entertainment hasn't filed lawsuits against these people, as this may be one of the reasons why everyone is plagiarizing the company. Think about it, if they aren't going to sue anyone no matter how big or small, then people will take the opportunity.
Regardless of your opinion on this discussion -- whether you believe the group was plagiarized or not -- it boils down to this: Ateez is no longer the small group everyone still thinks they are. Fans and nonfans are starting to take notice that this group is constantly in the spotlight for someone plagiarizing their content. At this point, KQ has to start standing up for their people because this has gotten completely out of hand.
In the end, I hope there can be some redemption on the issues at hand because no one deserves to have their work plagiarized.

Kim Soohyun: Update 3

From this point onwards, I will just give brief updates about the situation so people stay informed about what is going on.

After denying that Kim Soohyun dated Kim Saeron (RIP), SooHyun's company "Gold Medalist" recently released another statement confirming the allegations. However, they stated that the two dated when she was an adult in 2019. They leaned into the fact that the shirt seen in the picture above wasn't released until that year. Chinese fans quickly debunked this and made note that the shirt was released long before.
Saeron's mother made several demands to "Gold Medalist":
Acknowlede that SooHyun dated Saeron when she was a minor.
An official apology for media manipulation over the past 3 years.
Acknowledge Saeron's contrubution to the foudation of the company.
Publically apologize for sending a legal notice.
They want nothing from the company or SooHyun. They just want to warn everyone about the Lee Jinho (CEO).
Prove falshoods spread by the CEO.
A legal complaint against Lee Jinho will be filed next week. However, they still want a public apology for calling and saying after the funeral that they couldn't find where Saeron's columbarium was.
3. Kim Saeron's father released a statement which shed light on the situation:
The company did not explain why they sent her a letter to pay back the $700 million KRW.
Saron reached out to the agency every day to discuss the matter, but no one from the agency answered or returned her calls.
4. Since everything has been released, "Gold Medalist" has been desperately calling Saeron's family to talk. However, while they have been responding over text, the family hasn't talked on the phone with them. This has upset netizens as they feel like the agency is bombarding a family who hasn't had time to grieve their loss. They also found it interesting that they are reaching out to the father probably thinking he is more lenient since the mother has her hands tied to "Garosero Research Institute" youtube channel.
5. More pictures of SooHyun butt naked at SooHyun house have appeared thanks to Garosero.
6. Pictures from Kim SooHyun saesang accounts also show SooHyun at Saeron's apartment complex.
7. SooHyun still have some fans supporting him as they see the relationship as "a thing of the past". Someone posted on his fancafe "a top star who meets up while having a busy schedule ... a sweet boyfriend who sends a postcard while on a trip ... doing the dishes ... it seems like they were in love with the parents' permission". That person recently became a fan since this entire incident started. Fans that saw this agreed with the post.
8. Multiple brands, international included, have dropped SooHyun's advertisements and replaced them with someone else. Some of his latests projects have been put on hold.
Seo Yeji Update:
The actress is now in the headlines since people believe that the rumors against her are false.
She stated that she no longer wants to be tied to "Gold Medalist" and that she wants to leave those things behind her.

Kim Soo Hyun: The End of You

Warning: The following article contains sensitive subjects. Please read at your own discretion.
Before continuing, I'd like to say that it was NOT my intention to write an article that seemed like I was defending SooHyun. It was mainly written to talk about bullying and the dark side of it. I genuinely was not aware of how deep this situation was.
A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about the unfortunate early passing of Kim Saeron.
About a week later, I wrote another article about Kim Soo Hyun who was friends with the young actor and was being blamed for her passing.
Since then, this situation has been completely blown open and the truth of them is shocking me to my core.
On Monday, March 10, a popular South Korean YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute" said that Saeron's aunt claimed that SooHyun used to date Saeron when she was 15 and he was 27. Allegedly, the two went on to have a 6 year-long relationship. They remained friends after breaking up.
At first, this seemed like a speculation and nothing more. Within 24 hours, however, pictures quickly surfaced on the internet of the two thanks to "Garosero".

And yes, he sent her pictures and love letters while he was in the military. Saeron was 17 at the time.

Sadly, things don't end here. After her DUI, a lot of her scenes had to be pulled from Bloodhounds. Therefore, they required $700 mil KRW to repay the damages. Gold Medalist, SooHyun's label, paid it on her behalf. However, they immediately turned around and sued Saeron demanding the money from the actress. Unfortunately, she could not pay for it and felt like she was drowning.

While "Gold Medalist" does deny these claims as you see above, they are not innocent in all of this. In fact, they play a much bigger role than people think ... and it involves their former client Seo Yeji.

Seo Yeji: What Goes Around Comes Around

Seo Yeji is one of the most internationally known female actors in South Korea. She is most notoriously known for her roles in "It's Okay to Not Be Okay", "Diary of a Night Watchman", and "Lawless Lawyer". She gained her stardom back in 2013 after doing well on a sitcom. Since then, she has taken on major roles that have led to her success,
However, in 2022, allegations of gaslighting her ex-boyfriend, falsifying her academic credentials, and school violence made its rounds. During this time, she was promoting her drama "Eve". While trying to address the allegations, the drama "Eve" fell short. This led to a two-year hiatus from the actress. She made her return with a cosmetic brand and opened social media accounts across multiple platforms. She is now signed with Sublime.
So why am I writing about Seo Yeji?
"Gold Medalist", Seo Yeji's former company is currently being dragged on social media for its poor choices regarding defending Kim SooHyun's career. As a result, an anonymous former employee of the company recently came out to talk about Seo Yeji. Apparently, "Gold Medalist" may have allegedly been responsible for spreading the rumors about the actress to Dispatch. This was because the agency may have been having problems, and hid behind Yeji. She resigned at the time, hoping that she could trust her former co-star SooHyun, but was continuously betrayed.

As the hours, even minutes pass, "Gold Medalist" and Kim SooHyun are actively digging their graves, especially since it seems that they have a knack for treating women so poorly. With the death of Kim Saeron and now this news of Yeji, it's impossible to see any way out for this company.
But as the saying goes "What goes around, comes around".
Good luck Seo Yeji.

Xiumin: Am I Blacklisted?

Kim Minseok, also known as Xiumin is a member of the infamous K-pop boy group, EXO. This group was founded by Lee Sooman, the founder and CEO of SM Entertainment. Originally, EXO started off with 12 members. However, as a few years passed, two Chinese members left due to mistreatment, and another Chinese member was pulled because his father was afraid he would get severely injured due to the risky stunts the company made him perform.
As a result, a conversation about how SM treated their artist was sparked. SM is one of the biggest K-pop companies and, at the time, EXO was the biggest group in the industry. Therefore, this conversation turned many heads, as many fans began discussing celebrity mistreatment.
Throughout the years, many EXO members left the company. This list includes D.O., Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin -- all of the power vocalists. While they are still part of the group, they are pursing solo careers with contracts in other companies.
Why is this information being mentioned?
Xiumin left SM Entertainment in 2023 with Baekhyun and Chen, but they didn't leave quietly. The trio decided to sue the company for unfair terms regarding earnings transparency. This comes as no surprise as SM is known as the worst-paying company in K-pop. According to news articles, SM takes a whopping 95% of their artists' scheduled events. Therefore, it is no surprise that a few members are suing them. However, SM didn't stop there.
The former SM artist was supposed to appear on Lee Mujin's Service (broadcasted through KBS) to promote his second solo album. However, he was a no-show. One Hundred Label, the parent company of Lee Mujin's show, released a statement about their artist Xiumin. Apparently, he was banned from performing at KBS' Music Bank. He may also be prohibited from MNET MCountdown and MBC Music Core. In turn, several of Xiumin's label mates are now boycotting KBS.
KBS' only response was "We cannot feature artists from certain companies simultaneously". If you don't understand, they are basically saying that Xiumin cannot perform at the same time a "certain company" is having a comeback. While KBS is arguing that Xiumin's blacklist rumor is groundless, this statement should tell you all you need to know. In addition, SM Entertainment is no rookie when it comes to blacklisting artists who leave on poor terms. As a matter of fact, all of the big four companies (JYPE, SME, HYBE, and YGE) regardless of circumstance have attempted to soft block or blacklist a number of their former artists or competitors.
This is just a repeated cycle that is being noticed more so than before because it is starting to happen to major artists.
Hopefully, Xiumin can find a way out of this situation so his career can progress. After all, he nor anyone else deserves to be treated this way.

Wheesung: Gone Too Soon

Warning: The following topic may be sensitive for some. Please read with caution.
Veteran South Korean singer Choi Wheesung passed away in his apartment. He was found on March 10, 2025, at 6:29 PM after a family member called the police to check up on him. As of right now, there is currently no cause of death, however, some sources are saying that it may have been due to Cardiac Arrest (heart attack).
Wheesung debuted in 2002 in R&B and immediately made a name for himself. He was known and loved by many big names in the industry.
However, his name was smeared in 2021, when he was caught using propofol. He served one year in prison and was suspended for two years. After coming back, he had been heavily focused on live performances. He was set to perform on March 15 in Daegu.
I wrote an article on Kim Saeron a few weeks ago after she passed away. While the cause of death for both of these beautiful people is still unknown, circumstances aren't.
This brings us back to the conversation about South Korean celebrity treatment.
Many people like to think cardiac arrest is only due to being overweight. However, it can also be caused due to stress. Stress can disrupt the electricity in the heart causing arrhythmia (irregular heart rate) which can eventually lead to a heart attack.
Many celebrities experience the stress of being overworked every day. GOT7's Bam Bam recently announced that he was leaving his company due to being overworked. This was a good move on his behalf as the body needs to be at equilibrium to function at its best.
However, not all celebrities have made this choice. NCT's Mark is also in a grueling situation where he is being overworked, but he has chosen to stay with SM Entertainment.
I am not saying this may have been Wheesung's cause of death, but it wouldn't be shocking.
Until then, I hope the family can find some sort of peace over the coming days.
And may Wheesung rest in peace. His legacy will live on.

Wonwoo: I'm Just Serving

On March 5, 2025, Pledis Entertainment released a statement about Wonwoo's military service. According to the agency, Wonwoo will be enlisting in April 2025. Therefore, from that point onwards, he will not be participating in Seventeen's schedule.
Officially, he is on track to serve as a public servant. This means that he will not be performing activity duty, but instead will work on South Korea's streets or behind a desk. However, because he isn't "putting himself on the line" compared to the soldiers, his service time will be longer.
The public servant title is usually given to people who have medical conditions that will restrict them from properly serving the country. Many South Koreans saw the announcement and questioned whether he deserved this since there are people with Cancer serving on active duty. Maybe you are wondering the same thing after seeing a picture of Wonwoo.
The answer would be because he is nearly blind. Wonwoo has poor vision; so, when he takes off his glasses, he cannot see. He has also told fans that with contacts, he can barely see people at the barricade. There are multiple videos of him squinting to read signs in the first row. His vision is so bad that it has become a running joke amongst fans that Wonwoo fans won't be seen at concerts even if they are front row.
I won't be arguing on Wonwoo's behalf since I am not sure how the choices for who serves active military or is a public servant are made nor am I Korean. However, just keep in mind that he probably has a more than valid reason. South Korea will not consider status unless someone is a high-achieving member of society. Even Son Hyungmin (South Korea's Soccer captain who plays for Tottenham) had to fly back from Europe to serve a few months at a time.
I will say, however, that people should look into matters before rushing to comment on them. Maybe facts are being withheld for the time being and until more information is released, we should take a deep breath and put our phones down.

NCT Mark: Give Me a Break

May 2024 - December 2024: The Dream Show 3 - Dream()scape
In Between: Writing and recording his song/ album Fraktsyia.
December 2024: Jingleball
December 2024: NCT Dream's "Dreamscape" album release
January 2025-April 2025: NCT 127 - Momentum Tour
April 2025: Mark's Album release
May 2025: SM Town LA & Mexico City
NCT's Mark and Haechan are known to be some of the busiest artists in K-pop. Mark is especially known to be on a constant move since he writes his raps for all groups and produces his own songs. Therefore, it is no surprise that at a concert sendoff, fans clearly saw how tired he was.
Usually, he is known as a very energetic member who is very smiley and constantly interacting with fans. However, a video surfaced on TikTok where a fan asked him about chicken. His answer was, unfortunately, half-hearted. His body and eyes were clearly showing how exhausted he was.
With the schedule listed above, it seems that the only breaks he will be entitled to are the ones he gets at hotels or on the plane. I wish SM would take notice of how important members like Mark are. They are being drastically overworked and are still expected to perform at their best every time.
Personally, I'm surprised he hasn't gone on a long vacation just to recover.
Still, I hope he can prioritize his health over his career. It truly isn't worth it.

It's Funny
I've been making so many NCT-based posts and that's funny to me. You really would think that they're my main group but they're not.
So much has been going on with them recently though that I can't help but bring the news to everyone's attention.
I hope things get better for them soon.

Former SM Artist: Taeil On the Run

Warning: The following content is graphic so please read with caution.
On August 28, 2024, a report from South Korean news was released about NCT member Moon Taeil. In said report, it was stated that Taeil was being accused of sexual assault along with two other accomplices while the victim was unconscious. The report was made in June but was not looked into until August. Within a day or two, SM released a statement saying that they were aware of the situation and had removed Taeil from NCT.
This sparked a huge conversation amongst K-pop fans. Some wondered whether it was true since many artists get accused of things and a majority of them turn out to be false. Others chose to stand by the victim's side regardless. Some people also discussed the fact that SM knew about this months in advance but kept it quiet until it was announced. In addition, the conversation about how no one truly knows these artists as their personalities may not be what we think was brought up. This was mainly due to Taeil being the quiet innocent member of the group.
As time passed, the case opened up; people later found out that he may have raped the victim and also sexually assaulted a foreigner with said acquaintances. Therefore his official charges were rape and sexual assault.
NCT's contract with SM Entertainment was set to expire in November 2024. Therefore, it would've been easy for them to release Taeil from his contract without paying him as that would mean they would have to break the contract. Unfortunately for them, as the case against him became more solidified, they were forced to break it and probably pay him out.
Taeil has been summoned to court since then. However, "due to medical conditions," he has not shown up. Official documents have been put in from his attorney and a doctor to support these claims but people are starting to wonder how true how true it is.
This case gets darker and darker as time passes.
Hopefully, the victims can get peace over the coming months. I truly wish for their happiness.
And to K-pop fans, please be wary of who you support. Yes, many of the claims against artists may be false, but please start practicing patience. This situation has proven what has been said for years: "You do not know these artists. K-pop is a business and sometimes an artist's image may be part of that business too."

Junho & Doyoung: Fan Etiquette

As the year 2025 rolls into its third month, it is no surprise that K-pop concerts are starting to pick up. Many groups are either ending tours that started last year or are in the middle of them.
South Korea is used to seeing their favorites every other day since there are constant events. On the other hand, this is a big deal for many countries worldwide as they barely get opportunities to see their favorite artists. These artists usually have a great time visiting other countries since they have a lot more freedom than they would in South Korea. However, that door seems to be slowly closing.
NCT's Mark was in New York last year for "The Dream Show" concert when fans decided to hold a Mark look-a-like competition. He wanted to visit but before he could even get to the competition, he was mobbed and had to leave.
Typically, artists wander the streets without being bothered. Sure, fans will see them and post videos, but those videos will usually go out hours later in order to respect privacy. However, that system seems to be changing.
"Fans have a right to act a certain way since they don't see these artists except for when they're on tour."
But do they?
Recently, 2PM's Junho was in Brazil for his fan-con "Midnight Sun". He stopped mid-show to take a picture with a lucky fan. She pulled him down and then kissed him on the cheek.
Now, Brazil is a friendly culture where kisses aren't seen sexually. However, many netizens found it unnecessary since he is Korean and may be uncomfortable. While he did laugh the moment off, this sparked a huge conversation between fans.
In a similar light, NCT 127 is currently on their "Momentum" tour. While in Deluth, a fan was smoking weed in the pit, which Doyoung smelled and later told fans to "make sure to shower tonight" since the smell was so strong. Keep in mind that in South Korea, weed is still banned and can lead to numerous years in jail if you're caught with it. So again, the conversation on etiquette is brought up.
These artists have a hard enough time dealing with akgaes and saesangs in South Korea. Usually, traveling to other countries (despite it being for work) is sometimes the only chance they have to relax.
I'm not here to argue the politics behind concert etiquette, but respect should never be a question between fan and artist.

Ateez Yunho: Praying for You

During the second and third generations, it was very common for interviewers to ask questions about a Korean celebrity's personal life. Many of these questions were along the lines of:
"What's your ideal type?"
"Who is your musical inspiration?" and surprisingly,
"Are you religious?"
Religion used to be a very common topic among K-pop artists, as a plethora of them were either Buddhist or Christian. While the conversation may not be as talked about today, there are still a multitude of religious artists. For example, popular artists such as NCT, Shinee, and EXO, have stated that most of their group is made of Christians. In fact, the last question was so common, that a Reddit thread was made out of it:
Nowadays, personal questions aren't asked as much. However, there are many Korean artists who, as of late, have been expressing their religion a lot -- especially Christians. With an overwhelming flow of Christians in K-pop and this generation, many of them look for celebrities who can assist their journey. Some of these artists include NCT's Mark, Stray Kidz's Felix, KARD's BM, and Ateez's Yunho.
Yunho is the main dancer and sub-vocalist of Ateez. He is the member who picks up on choreography so quickly that he can teach it back to the members without issue. For the most part, Yunho has never found himself in any controversy. In fact, the main and probably only one was one Atinys (Ateez's fandom) created that was then picked up by Korean media.
Despite him staying out of trouble, Atinys had to come to his aid on February 27, 2025.
On said date, Atinys were casually discussing Yunho's red flags. A majority of fans stated that he didn't have any. Of course, this didn't last long, as a few Atinys stated that his being Christian-Catholic was an issue.

Naturally, this didn't sit right with multiple Atinys including atheists who said that despite one's belief, you should still respect the artist.
There's nothing wrong with being an atheist, Muslim, Christian, etc... The real issue starts to occur when people stop respecting one another and this is a classic example of the fact. As a society, we must learn to have conversations about things we disagree on rather than immediately jumping to hate.
It's interesting, but not surprising, that fans set such high standards for their favorite artists, but not for themselves.
Still, good for Atinys to understand where the line should not be crossed and make sure the fandom has some semblance of respect.

NCT: We Can't Trust You Either

It should be known by now that SM employees are no friends of their company or artists. They tend to, naturally, know a lot about what is going on with their artists and for the most part keep it a secret. That or SM Entertainment has the best lawyers known to man.
However, the staff tends to leak more and more information as the years come and go. The most notable leak came a few years ago when a Carat -- Seventeen fan -- who was sleeping with an SM employee leaked NCT 2020. To this day, it was one of the funniest leaks because she did it accidentally.

Unlike the laughter from this leak, the one that follows isn't as funny.
Recently, a Japanese SM Entertainment employee has been quietly sharing information online about NCT, particularly NCT Dream. They've taken to Twitter on an anonymous account asking for concert ideas for "Dream Show 3". While this may be seen on the lighter side of things, what follows isn't.
The alleged staff member has shared intimate stories of NCT 127 members Taeyong and Jungwoo. To keep the stories short and on track, Jungwoo had bought them a snack and Taeyong went out of his way to get them a plushie for their birthday.
The posts take a turn when the staff member takes credit for all the creative posts NCT has been making on TikTok and fans should be thanking him because of the fact.
Oh and for your information ... most of these leaks came before anything was posted on NCT's social media. Naturally, fans didn't like this as it breached the artists' privacy and posed a security risk.
On an average day, many fans are convinced that saesangs release all the private information about KPop celebrities. Though, like saesangs, staff members working for big groups love the attention. In fact, as you saw above, they flex that they work for these groups to get said attention. Therefore, it shouldn't be surprising the way some of them behave. They, like saesangs, will leak information for attention and money.
Yes, saesangs are stalkers that illegally spread information about your favorite celebrity. However, let's not ignore the staff members who have access to private information and are trusted by artists to keep it a secret. Instead, they betray that trust and release it to the public for 5 seconds of fame or money they could easily make by working.
Shouldn't they be punished too?

Kim Soo-Hyun: Line of Fire

Kim Soo-Hyun is a South Korean actor who started his journey in 2007 and is now one of the highest-paid actors in the country. He is best known for his roles in "It's Okay to Not Be Okay", "Queen of Tears", and "Hotel del Luna".
He is rarely involved in any drama outside of dating rumors (which can barely be considered that). However, he has recently been dragged in the line of fire after Kim Saeron's passing.
When the actress was being bullied for her DUI, everyone left her side including her family and close friends. During this time, she had a picture of a drunk Kim-Hyun, which she posted on her social media hoping that his fans would come to her aid. Unfortunately, this did not happen.
Now that the actress has passed, South Koreans are harassing Kim Soo-Hyun claiming that he abandoned the former actress in her time of need. His Instagram and all other social media platforms have been flooded with negative comments insighting these things. Interesting isn't it?
Fortunately, said actor has a plethora of Nigerian fans who have united under his social media showing him an overwhelming amount of support. They have resorted to reporting comments and accounts as well as defending Soo-Hyun.
While this is beautiful, I'd just like to take a minute and discuss bullying. I find it amazing that after losing an actress and many other infamous faces to bullying, South Koreans still turned to other well-known figures to harass them.
When will this cycle end?
When will people realize that their actions are the reasons there are consequences?
Kim Soo-Hyun needs to be protected at all costs from South Koreans. International fans are slowly starting to join hands with Nigerians to support the actor. Please continue to do so.
Spread love not hate.
