this ask is soooo self-indulgent BUT do u ever plan on making wolf-related shit again? on one end i understand why u'd wanna never touch it publicly EVER again what w/ ur quasi-prophetic status held by doomed yaoi types or whatever... but on another end i'm so curious on how the wolf kids would look in ur newer style + how u'd go abt certain aspects of the story nowadays as an actual adult. like i just think u'd blow it out of the park

HIII!!! i DO wanna make wolf content again and im not opposed to making it anymore as much as i did a few months ago when i took a little hiatus, but i got in some hot water recently on twitter over me making a boundary with the designs i had and it got misinterpreted as Me being an asshole and calling out people who don’t like my shit even tho that… wasn’t… the point….anyway.. there are some slight design tweaks i wanna make, mostly on salem but like nothing crazy. i don’t think ive ever actually Drawn drawn her in my actual art style and not my simplified animation one. FUNNY ENOUGH rusty is the one song that’s always stumped me cuz i’ve always wanted to animate it but i could Never Get It Right. and the one time i Did have an animatic for it the file got corrupted and i just gave up LMAO. sorry if my answer is a little all over the place i legit just had this convo w my partner the other day. i wish i could make animating and creating tyler art was a priority again but as i get back into my uni art groove along with getting comments from ppl who don’t know anything about how animation works asking me to animate This song or This one and Why have i been gone so long it really just mentally drains me Along with me already having some really bad mental health problems and for the longest i didn’t feel happy making content or interacting in tyler spaces. i still don’t really feel fully comfortable in those spaces as it always feels like im the elephant in the room. which really sucks because when i was younger i ALWAYS wanted the wolf trilogy to have some sort of fandom i could interact with and like, be friendly with. but as ive gotten older and some shit has happened to me i don’t feel as comfortable putting myself out there. a lot of the art i’ve been making currently is almost like me making up for lost time because of me being absent for so long / busy making art for college. sorry about the tangent. anyway, i’ve always interpreted wolf Very seriously and i think even now i understand it more than i did before and i can actually like. Draw the characters how i wanted them to look vs when i first drew them when i was like 14/15, and i have the time currently until august to kinda do fuck-all until i leave again for uni. making wolf content in the past was always very self indulgent and i didn’t really think people could interpret my animations the wrong way because i would assume they at least Listened to the album and had an idea of the characters. and again i was like i think 16-17 when i made a huge chunk of the wolf ones specifically. i do plan on animating them again, i think i just need to plan a bit more than i do for my other stuff just because i care about it so much. rusty and 48 have always been songs that i wanted to animate but i literally did not have the skills to even touch those songs, but those i reaaaaally really wanna do. i did draw sam the other day as a warmup, he is kind of my go-to character to draw at all times. right now im working on something cherry bomb related so probably after that i’ll focus on wolf again (not cuz of ur ask but because i do miss making content). again im so sorry if this answer is kinda everywhere, i have garbage of the mouth … :>

also omg jay hiiii idk if u saw my comment on ur video (prob not cuz that shit prob has sooo many notifs) but ur new animation of balloon? groundbreaking literal swag city. i love the tongue in cheek sexual humour i love the lil visual gags like the sock puppets i love the energy n i love the way ur art style changed everything is so expressive n vibrant n beautiful. ur work blossomed into smth beautiful i was amazed. literally watched it n sent it 2 my friends like "this is a lemonchips reparation i'm eating good today"

actually this is such a minor thing but it pisses me off um ppl will correctly understand that SMTH abt wolf trilogy's whole 'deal' is counterculture in many ways but 4 some reason when they get those vibes they always make all of them scemo sparkledog kids 4 some reason. n it's like... ur so close!!!!!! 💗 being a skater + n the whole 'kitty cats bright colours vans n supreme' was ALREADY both counterculture 4 mainstream n black american culture in the 2010s!!!

it kind of feels like a mix of kind of being unable 2 digest things if they're not similar 2 the very online circle ur in (which i've noticed also has ppl struggle when it comes 2 writing these kids that r very much mostly online in an entirely different way n practically 'latchkey' types) but also just being a bit scared of engaging more w/ the very black elements so then they resort 2 a movement that is - NOWADAYS i mean due 2 the scemo revival - very 'white queer kid in the suburbs' first alt/counterculture movement'

the thing abt samwolf that i can't wrap my head around is that like usually the thing abt enemies 2 lovers is that it requires kind of relatively unrealistic or mundane stakes (like supervillain shit or business enemies right bcuz who cares) right? bcuz the two characters need 2 end up liking each other somehow

i just cannot see a world wherein wolf n sam end up even remotely tolerating each other bcuz the thing abt the specific animosity that they show towards each other is smth that actually happens irl between men. in fact even the scenario of 'some guy slept with my girl so i'm gonna go kill him' happens irl too (bonus points if the guy who takes major is also tied 2 organized crime lol... like a certain someone in the album) n u probably have heard of that happening once or twice if u live in an urban area w/ a mid-ish tax bracket. i mean i've seen it 🤷

that's what gets me. like 2 me it just feels like ur in another reality in order 2 view the animosity they feel towards each other as smth either unrealistic enough or mundane enough 2 make them kissy kiss abt it. just a whole ass different socioeconomic environment. of course wolf (2013) is a bit unserious at times but that part is played dead straight 4 a reason. like u do know that this sorta thing happens irl a lot n just ends up in violence n incarceration right? like it's not giggle worthy or smth 2 act like ur gonna smoosh ken dolls together over it's just SAD when it happens. u know that right? i need u 2 know that!!

what’s ur opinion on those ppl who ship the tyler egos together,,

im not shocked that it exists especially when i look at the age demographic of most shippers but its whatever to me honestly. i personally dont ship any of the egos cuz i see wolf/goblin/ace as the same person and i see flowerboy/igor/baudelaire as just extensions of tyler and not really as an "ego", the only exception is igor in some cases because he is a Character that tyler created (here). this mostly goes for flower boy because idk its kind of weird watching someones coming out album being treated as a yaoi softboy, same goes with igor to an extent... i know all fandoms woobify rlly shitty characters but for some reason when shipping is involved it becomes even worse. im also just super autistic (diagnosed and real) about tyler and his work so even silly stuff gets under my skin sometimes unfortunately
