03   /   the bandits that killed chloe’s father were,   in fact,   hired contract killers   —   sent to teach him a permanent lesson   &   to retrieve whatever knowledge he had found so far.   however,   whatever her father knew he took with him to the grave.   the campsite had been raided,   with proof of discovery left to burn in the embers of a smoldering fire.   all that remained was the little ganesh figurine,   mailed to chloe not too long before his death.   it was something she savored as a simple trinket   &   a fleeting memory.

04   /   chloe has never felt truly connected with her indian background.   yes,   she knows a lot about hindu mythology thanks to her father   &   her own interests.   culture wise,   however,   she feels like a fish out of water.   her upbringing in australia was predominantly focused on what her mother was familiar with.   chloe not only took her name out of protection as to not be recognized by her father’s enemies,   she also took her mother’s mannerisms   &   cultural significance.   since the events of lost legacy,   however,   chloe has begun to take up indian cultural practices,   in order to feel connected with her father   &   heritage.

05   /   as an addendum,   chloe knew more than she let on during among thieves.   my portrayal of her knowledge   /   some actions in the second game is canon divergent,   knowing the additional background info of lost legacy.   here,   she recognized the cintamani stone from its significance in both the buddhist   &   hindu society.   she recognized the symbolism,   the phurba dagger,   the deities.   she did not solely stand by the wayside while letting nate solve everything.   as a talented actress,   chloe knew all of this perfectly fine   —   she simply did not reveal it to anyone as the perfect ploy to flynn’s deceit.

      hm.  i mainly went to see the uncharted movie to see if i would be pleasantly surprised.  but of course,  that wasn’t the case.  as a standalone movie,  i’ll say that it’s fine.  just your run-of-the-mill treasure hunting movie.  but as an uncharted movie,  that spans a few games and a short comic,  it failed miserably.  still can’t get over the fact how dirty they treated the characters.  sully being money hungry and saving nate at the very end as his only redeeming quality?  chloe being consistently hostile when she supposedly already knows sully?  the unnecessary change to her father's background?  insinuating that nate is quick to hit the bottle?  that’s just not the vibe.  they could have taken the story any way,  with the games being a perfect blueprint,  but they didn't.  and let’s not talk about mark as sully.  lmao.
