J&H is such a good story on self destructing while making sure no one can interfere until the damage is too much to come back from. You let yourself go and go and go until you have nothing left apart from that vial of cyanide and people you loved breaking down your door out of hatred and unrecognition for you.

You let what you shouldn’t have slip outside of you take charge of your being in a way so authentic it’s almost inhuman, too base to be considered an action taken by man. You think you’re freeing yourself but you’re really just breaking out of your cage by digging yourself down.

Ngl I think my #1 favourite iteration of Hyde is any one where he’s just a horrible amalgamation of everything Jekyll has been trying to, well, HIDE.

Just the most polarising possible character you could have.

He hates himself, he thinks he’s better than everyone else, he’s nauseous with guilt over every single thing he’s ever done, he takes sickly joy in every bad action he can remember.

He has an overwhelming hatred for everyone on earth, despising the human race, and then he loves everyone, he’s just so blessed to live a life at all.

Maybe he shuts himself in the cabinet one day because he’s so fucking scared of every single person around him, and the next hour he’s spitting in faces and shouting across streets.

Just. I think him being erratic makes for fun characterisation.

i feel like cringe culture never fucking died because it won't it's ingrained into the internet ecosystem. so often I hear "be free, be cringe, do whatever you want!!! be a silky skrunkly" followed by category five ableism towards an autistic adult who makes Ms paint pokemon inflation art or teenager who dresses in bright colors and talks like an anime character.
