AAAAA THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!

Art Fight attack on @jayrockin !!!! The Art Fight website doesn't support audio and made me crunch my animation way down so here's the high quality audio version with EXTRAS!

Ever since they mentioned that Bip moves like 2D cutout character I knew I had to rig and animate them and Art Fight was the perfect excuse to do just that!

The audio is edited by @dracogriff and I decided to animate along to it here since this the closest to a voiceclaim Bip has. I added the subtitles in as similar a way as I could to how it's done in the comics (which is a good thing since I only just found out Art Fight doesn't do audio anyway.)

A lil low quality BTS of the rig and how it moves and functions under the cut! I didn't label any bones because this was a quick one-man project and... too lazy. But you get a good idea of what does what just from me messin with it.

Here's the rig at work! They were artworked, rigged and animated in Moho 14 within about 2 days total if I was working on it full time.

Up to date reference of Sunbeam! Plus some kee clothing. Their clothing tends to be pretty minimal if they can get away with it so that flight isn't impeded (kee clothing in general tends towards being lightweight).

Pingul is looking for something to eat at dawn at the Salt Lake.

The continent of Gerash looks like a large ridge pierced by hills and mountains. On the mountain peaks, ice caps form seasonally, which melt and wash salts that accumulate in the lakes. These lakes are home to many crustaceans and mollusks, attracting small hunters and gatherers, such as pinguls.

In the picture, there is a sunrise over a salt lake, where a lonely pingul is searching for food before the hustle and bustle begins.

About 10 years ago I was working for a gaming company doing creature design. After work, I would go home and dissect animals in my garage. I borrowed a tiger carcass from a local taxidermist. I wanted to understand how the jaw muscles worked, so I stop motion animated it.

The muscle on the back of the head (Temporalis) bulges out when the jaw is closed. But when the is jaw is open, it depresses in like the surface of a trampoline. But not uniformly, in a Y shaped pattern.

I ended up getting evicted for stop motion animating tiger parts in my garage…..but it was worth it. I still have hard drives full of animal carcasses reference animations today. Fun Times.
