Lake Burlinskoye Location: Altai Krai, Western Siberia
Lake Burlinskoye is a pink lake in Siberia with a train that runs through it. The train collects sediment from the lake bed using harvesting tools, as a part of a salt harvesting operation dating back to 1768. This method yields 65,000 tons of salt each year.

still not over how white cat legend donghua is like. we are now going to have a scene with a serious discussion on the nature of peacetime vs wartime, "acceptable" levels of civilian death, war crimes (albeit centuries before that term was even coined), and the handling of uprisings. we are going to show this character's viewpoint so thoroughly that even if we don't agree with him, we can understand how he came to the conclusions he did. can understand that he goes to such extremes because he genuinely believes it necessary to preserve peace.
and this is going to take place at the baths. with fanservice.

My dorm is having an Open House today, so I invited my college friends over. So far, only one has replied but she says she can't make it...
The others... I don't know if they've seen the message, and I guess it's also my fault for the short notice but... I still can't help being disappointed when no one has come
They're probably just busy or tired or whatever, and I understand that. But it still hurts to have no one answer your call

Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:
Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)
Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)
Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.
But in Japanese it scans as:
Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)
Psycho (short for psychic)
Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.

After all these years, it finally happened
It happened
I had a dream I was a worm
I was a worm in a relationship with a human man
He still loved me even though I was a worm
The question has been answered

Exams are over, and uhh… it did not go well
I did not expect this professor’s tests to be heavy on memorization 😭😭😭 And I have 2 classes under her!
The first part was identification, and most of the questions was about what is the term being described and which author said what and...
I CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER THE NAME OF MY OWN PROFESSOR FOR THIS CLASS, AND YOU’RE ASKING ME TO NAME THE AUTHORS???
I literally had to peek at my seatmate’s answer book to see what my prof’s full name is (I’ve been calling her by her nickname this whole time)
What makes it more difficult is that it’s not even just the authors of the works we discussed, but also the authors mentioned within those works...
I am doomed🫠🫠🫠
It’s frustrating coz, like, I remember all the concepts and lessons. I just don’t fucking remember the names of people and stuff 😭😭😭
(These 2 classes are on Creative Nonfiction and Poetry, and although prof told us there’d be an objective section, I was really not expecting it to be a lot and to involve name memorization of all things 😭)
So in part 2, which is an essay, I went above and beyond to make up for my most likely poor score in part 1.
I’m very confident in my answers for the essay section. For the poetry essay, I even wrote a 3-page analysis uwu

Whoever came up with the term "synthetic leather" should go to hell. It's just fucking plastic, and they're so uncomfortable to wear as shoes!

The flip side of the post-World War II cries of “Never again” was an unspoken “Never before.” The insistence on lifting the Holocaust out of history, the failure to recognize these patterns, and the refusal to see where the Nazis fit inside the arc of colonial genocides have all come at a high cost. The countries that defeated Hitler did not have to confront the uncomfortable fact that Hitler had taken pointers and inspiration on race-making and on human containment from them, leaving their innocence not only undisturbed but also significantly strengthened by what was indeed a righteous victory.
Naomi Klein, Doppelganger
