Handled Vs. Handless Kitchens... The Pros & Cons:
Handless:
PROS
Easy to wipe clean and maintain as there are no handles so you can clean the full surface
Handless kitchens are always in style - considered stylish and modern / a timeless option that is certainly not going out of fashion anytime soon
They allow for more space - instantly decluttering your kitchen / improving the flow of kitchen
Safer as there aren't any handles sticking out so there is nothing to walk into / safer for children and adults / improved safety
Handless kitchens are the best for child proofing / child friendly
Modern feel to kitchen as handless kitchens look modern
Creates the illusion of more space / additional space / they are a good option for small kitchens
Without handles there is more space in the kitchen and less disruption to the flow of furnishings / great for open-plan kitchens
Beautiful design / wide range of materials, colours, styles and finishes to choose from
Can create a clean uncluttered look
Hard-wearing
CONS
Some handless kitchens are quite expensive because of the specialist craftsmanship / can be more expensive than traditional kitchens / higher costs
Handless kitchens take some getting used to - not having handles on the doors / can be harder to access / can be challenging to open for some people
Finger prints may be more visible if choosing a high gloss finish / the front of the kitchen cabinets or doors may be touched more frequently
May take longer to clean in circumstances where dust and crumbs quickly accumulate in the recess that you pull to open the kitchen door or drawer / increased cleaning time
Handless kitchens may have limited options regarding cabinet and drawer styles
Not always obvious which way round kitchen cabinets or doors open
Practical issues: A handless design could be impractical for those with strength or mobility issues affecting their hands, i.e. arthritis
Not great if you have really long finger nails - gripping a kitchen cabinet door or drawer can be difficult
Might miss a handled kitchen if you have a really busy lifestyle and have to rush around the kitchen

Handled Vs. Handless Kitchens ... The Pros & Cons:
Handled:
PROS
Easy to access / easy to know which way cabinets and drawers open because they have handles
Clear and easy recognisable way of opening kitchen cabinets and drawers / easier to know which side opens and which is the hinge
Tangible grip on drawers / easier to grab
Accessibility - Can be convenient when you have busy hands / easy to open cabinets and kitchen drawers in a rush
Handles are more durable than knobs because they are designed to withstand more pressure
Handles on kitchen drawers offer a direct and reliable way to access your storage spaces
They are spacious and perfect for cooking large meals for the family / visitors
Design: handles can add personality and character to a kitchen
Cheaper than handless which requires specialised craftsmanship / generally hardware costs are lower and installation is simpler
The classic design is so versatile to fit any modern or deluxe lifestyle
Traditional image - kitchen cabinets with handles often have a classic, timeless image that will never go out of style
CONS
Can be dangerous if you get caught on kitchen drawers / could have an accident or injury / not safe for children and some adults
Not the best for childproofing & child safety
With handles your kitchen cabinets and drawers, your kitchen has parts that overhang / protrude
Can be harder to wipe the surface behind the handles - so becomes harder to clean surfaces
Kitchen handles can potentially wear faster due to the usage of that cabinet or drawer, how often it is used and the force that each person uses to access it
Not as hygienic as handless because there are more places for dirt and bacteria to hide
Some individuals feel that having handles on their kitchen cabinets or drawers makes the kitchen look busy or that it just simply isn't the "right look"

Before & After (2018) ... After Renovation

Finally, the new kitchen extension was finished, making the kitchen more of a functional space. Where the old kitchen was actually became a utility room with a down stairs toilet. The entire house was plastered so every wall was smooth and then painted white.

Before & After (2018) ... Before Renovation

This was a house renovation project back in 2018 that I was taking photos of whilst gaining some work experience; these are the before photos that give a rough idea of the condition of the house before renovating commenced. The down stairs windows had jail bars on them, so I personally did not think that the previous owner of the house felt safe there. The kitchen was very small as well so a kitchen extension was needed. There was a lot of work to be done...
