genshin boys as romance drama tropes

diluc: hot ceo of a company and you're his secretary who's getting bossed around all the time and you hate his guts but oh nooooo you get drunk and sleep with him!

kaeya: the rebellious shady sibling of the hot ceo and he's actually just very misunderstood. he pulls you out of work to have make out sessions in the storage room.

razor: misunderstood feral delinquent who pets puppies whenever he comes across one and he actually has a really cute smile but y'all just haven't seen it. he comes to save you when some disgusting pervert tried hitting on you.

bennett: that one trope where the clumsy girl trips and falls on some guy and accidentally kisses him on the lips—except in this case, bennett is the clumsy one and you're the unfortunate(?) victim whose first kiss got stolen.

venti: that friend in college who always crashes at your apartment and treats it like his own home. then he actually moves in to live with you. a very typical roommates to lovers drama. with a lot of beer. and drunken confessions.

chongyun: you swear he hates you. he glares at you every time you see him, and he always turns away like nothing happened. sike! he actually likes you a damn lot, and he gets embarrassed when you catch him staring. he just has a resting bitch face, unfortunately.

xingqiu: the popular guy notices wallflower trope! he gets tired of acting like a perfect guy in front of everyone else, and his safe haven is the library. you're a sweet, shy bookworm and you bond by talking about books! he loves seeing you chatting excitedly about things you like. (he would def kiss you in public with a book covering your faces.)

zhongli: another hot ceo but this time you're poor and homeless so he offers you a job as a house caretaker in exchange for a room in his big ass mansion. but then you start to fall for him and- what? he has a fiancee abroad?? how come you didn't know that??? (rags to riches at its finest.)

childe: ENEMIES TO LOVERS FOR SURE. this mofo seems like he doesn't study at all but he tops the exams every single time. meanwhile, you're a very hardworking college student who studies 24/7 and you get second EVERY DAMN TIME. it's unfair. very unfair. he was out there partying on friday while you freaked over finals, how is he getting higher marks than you. it ends up as a one-sided rivalry and he wonders why you glare at him every time he waves hi at you. then one day at the library, he sees you struggling on a particular topic, and he offers to tutor you at his house. you think he's planning something bad but then you get to his house and- oh? he has younger siblings? and they're both cute??? and they're so fun to play with and they want to see you more????? and you get to see the nice brotherly side of him??? you start visiting his house regularly, BUT YOU SWEAR YOU VISIT FOR THE KIDS, NOT HIM, NO MA'AM- THAT LUNCH HE COOKED FOR YOU MIGHT BE THE TASTIEST THING YOU'VE EVER EATEN BUT YOU WON'T BE SWAYED- yeah ok you're making out on his couch now

xiao: the quiet kid in class everyone is scared of but all the girls are attracted to the 'mysterious' aspect to him. you don't really get the appeal until he offers to walk you home on a rainy day when you forget your umbrella, and buys you coffee when he notices you seem too sleepy in class, and then he brings you some medicine when you're sick and shares you his notes from the lectures you missed- ok FINE he's a lot nicer than he looks, but he's just a good friend, that doesn't mean you'll fall for him- ok shit he literally has the prettiest smile on earth AND YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT YOUR PERSONAL MISSION TO BRING A SMILE TO HIS FACE EVERYDAY-

albedo: that one smart guy in class you'd expect to have detailed notes but he refuses to lend them to anyone so no one really knows for sure. the reason? he actually has a crush on you and doodles your portrait in class on the same page with his notes whenever he feels bored and he doesn't want anyone to see them. one day, he conveniently drops his notebook in the hallway and you pick it up for him, but oh? what's this? is that a drawing of your... sleeping face?! you are beyond mortified and he freezes in place when he sees you with the notebook. no, you're not mortified ‘cause you're creeped out by the thought of him drawing you——you're only mortified because he stared at you while you unknowingly drooled on your desk. (you'd tell him you make a pretty damn horrible model and he should look for prettier people to draw, but he'd argue you're the prettiest person he knows.)

scaramouche: the cliche where everyone thinks he's a completely nice guy and you accidentally see him in his real nasty personality so he blackmails you into keeping his secret. but oh? what's this? you start liking him for who he really is?

Kagura’s revival (especially as a mortal woman) is by many means impossible

Kagura is an incarnation of Naraku. She is also a wind sorceress. When she died, she “became the wind”, therefore also making her an elemental.

Incarnation is the process whereby the non-physical essence of a fragment spirit is invested with bodily nature and form.

Incarnation literally means embodied in flesh or taking on flesh. It refers to the creation and birth of a sentient being who is the material manifestation of a powerful being.

An incarnation, in flesh, is imperfect and incomplete. Only a god would have the power to create a perfect human being.

In order for a demon to actually BE a human, the demonic spirit itself would have to possess a human body, because humans are living things and demons are spiritual entities.

In reverse, a human becoming a demon is a trap, where the soul is enslaved and cut off from its original source, which is essentially what happened to Onigumo when he fed his body and soul to demons to become Naraku.

There are two additional things to keep in mind as well.

1. As I stated earlier, demons are spiritual entities. Therefore, they do not have souls. Only a soul can be reincarnated, while the spirit itself is essence.

2. Kagura becoming the wind implies she is now an elemental spirit. Elemental spirits do not have souls. They are also energy and essence.

I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but there is no decent writing or anime logic that could give physical human flesh to Kagura without ruining the story.

Rumiko uses Japanese folklore, Shinto philosophy and Buddhist spirituality all throughout the Inuyasha universe. It’s apparent that plenty of logic and spirituality is applied to her stories. Including the fact that Kagura’s character was meant to die, and her story is over.

There is no way she would allow her team to ruin it with something so outlandish.

Yashahime Episode 6

So instead of spamming the topic with a bunch of posts, I thought it was much better to just put everything in one setting. Now, shall we start?

Moroha humming and, uh, singing along with song was actually a pretty refreshing thing to watch. It set a good exposition into the episode where they’re traveling freely on their own in contrast to their first arrival in the Feudal Era. If Moroha was in the modern era, being an idol would have probably suited her looks and personality. She is pretty popular after all. 

But god damn did she actually shove her ASS straight to Towa’s face. *cue in Worth It* They get into a fight and Setsuna’s just sitting there, thinking, “These bitches—”

Moving on to the village . . .

This village is crazy old cat people taken to the extreme. Cats everywhere. Yashahime is flexing its power of fiction so hard when it’s implying that all the residents aren’t allergic to cats. Not a single one is sneezing or having an attack. 

When the Random Villager #666 straight-up scoffed at her daughter, I was so torn between feeling sympathetic for this girl, and laughing myself into tears. This mom is literally evert teenager when someone wants to talk to them. Just like, “Thank you, next.”

The entire fandom at that moment: Why did you kick the cat?!?! O_O

It was quite obvious that the cats were youkai from the very beginning, but to kick that cat was such a shock. So this is what you can Feudal Era standards . . . Or maybe it was just me? Hehe.

Yeah I bet that was totally wrong. Feel free to comment whatever he said, lol. Myouga might be much more useless than he was the last time. The only thing previous gen does is drop the names, not the info. Trust nothing and trust no one lmao.

Press X to doubt. Inuyasha lesson: Do not trust monks when there are youkai nearby. Not even Miroku because  that one will grope you with his Kazaana (Wind Tunnel) hand. 

Proof? Inuyasha Episode 13: The Mystery of the New Moon and the Black-Haired Inuyasha

Hmm, sound familiar? Spoiler alert, that monk was not a monk. He became a spider, was possessed, either way he was not human. Julian—I mean Juan—is just a younger, kinder, and marginally more attractive than this old man.  

Oh my god this is actually 3AM nightmares, the ones that make you wanna crawl inside your blanket as if it’s a protective ward. Do people think that a demon’s just gonna go, “Oh no, they’re hiding inside the blanket, I can’t see them!”

But really though that’s terrifying. How can anyone stay calm at a time like that?

As a side note, this reminds me of the time when Moroha revealed that Setsuna does not dream. At best this girl closes her eyes while scouting by sensing ki or whatever. 

Ahhh, Setsuna called Towa by her name! I’m getting so much squeals from this! Also, her reaction of instantly running to help the people she cares about (though will not admit to) is quite the admiring thing, and resembles Sesshoumaru quite a bit. The way he stops whatever he’s doing to save the people he cares about is lived through Setsuna and it’s really nice to watch. 

Ah, so Myouga was relatively useless after all. As much as I love and appreciate the name drops of the OG gang, there’s a fine line between information and plot baiting. It’s worthwhile in a way because it gives Towa the idea to simply cut the youki rather than Juan himself, but I’m a little disappointed in this development. Whenever Myouga showed up in Inuyasha, something interesting was bound to happen. Here in Yashahime, it’s not as impactful. To me, at least. 

What’s the use of Tesseiga when none of the cast have it at the moment?

One of the many things I admire about Towa is that she has the strength to defend her beliefs. It’s true that the feudal era is a kill or be killed environment where your own survival is a priority over emotions and bonds. However, this is a new era where thanks to Inuyasha, hanyou are put in a better light than before and the rate of survival has improved. Towa introduces these new principles into the era that Moroha and Setsuna may disagree with, but accept when she shows the power to back up their beliefs.

On a lighter note, Moroha’s situation is kind of a comic relief and a really sympathetic thing at the same time. She’s just constantly broke and this guy isn’t even giving her decent jobs to make up for it. The humor comes from her reactions where she’s constantly like, “giVe Me mOneY, I'm brOkE!” which is honestly mood.

Well, that’s that. to put much more information, but this episode felt like a filler more than anything else. See you next time!

can I take a moment to say that inuyasha and yashahime never cease to amaze? if you pay close attention to the storyline, it always grabs your attention and straps you in this roller coaster emotional ride.

myouga has the same reaction as all of us. “Sesshomaru has hanyou kids? Sesshomaru fucks???”

also, goddammit myouga just tell them they’re related already.

note: this kind of proves the fact that none of the characters really know what happened. kohaku knows nothing despite how much setsuna resembles sesshomaru or inukag’s kids, kaede knows nothing, and the forgetful myouga just genuinely does not know anything.
