psa ... i am a slow writer. i make no apologies for this because one, i've spent too long pointlessly pushing myself to the point of epic burn-out in order to keep up. i refuse to keep doing that to myself. this is supposed to be fun. two, my reply speed is not a reflection of anything except the speed it takes to arrange my thoughts in my foggy brain. i promise i appreciate every meme and reply i receive. just give me time, please.

“I started reading everything and watching as much as I could just trying to understand this character. I was like, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to relate to this person.’ But when I just brought it down to our scripts and took it scene by scene, she is — up to a point — a very normal girl who’s been through some horrendous things. I didn’t think that I could relate to her, but I definitely could get behind her and have empathy for her.” — HANNAH DODD

[ 📿 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat superstition or ritual do they cling to ?
checking the pins. checking the pins is sage's oldest pre-performance ritual. it involves getting her papa to double-check the hair pins in her bun are secure. the ritual began when she was a mere cygnet herself, a creative way for papa to soothe her anxious mind after margot told her the reason georgiana (a senior) broke her leg during georgiana's first big solo is because her hair pins flew out and she tripped on them. she knows some probably see the ritual as childish, but sage couldn't care less. she clings to the ritual to this day.

the way she says heavy isn't lost on me. hazel's work isn't for the faint-hearted. i make a mental note to ask about how her day went later on. "breakfast at tiffany's?" my go-to suggestion. but i simply never grow tired of watching the film. "twenty seven dresses?" i didn't know if hazel had a particular film in mind. but after the heavy day she's clearly had, the least i can do is let her pick what we watch.
hazel thinks for a moment before placing the object to the side. the witch jumps down from the counter.ㅤ❛ㅤnothing scary or, you know. . . heavy.ㅤ❜ㅤshe's not so sure she could deal with weighted topics after the long day she's had. a night of relaxation and spending time with her favourite person is all that's needed.ㅤ❛ㅤwhat about a cheesy rom-com? i could go for something like that.ㅤ❜

PROMPTS FROM THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA * assorted dialogue from the 2006 film, adjust as necessary
please bore someone else with your questions.
details of your incompetence do not interest me.
you know, i rarely say this to people who aren't me, but you have got to calm down.
something funny?
i'm still learning about this stuff.
you think this has nothing to do with you.
i think we need a jacket here.
my god! you look so chic!
is there some reason that my coffee isn't here?
has she died or something?
you thought i didn't know.
i've known what was happening for quite some time.
i never thought i would say this, [name], but i really see a great deal of myself in you.
you can see beyond what people want, and what they need, and you can choose for yourself.
i don't think i'm like that.
i couldn't do what you did to [name].
that was different. i didn't have a choice.
you chose to get ahead.
you want this life.
those choices are necessary.
what if this isn't what i want?
what if i don't wanna live the way you live?
don't be ridiculous.
everybody wants this. everybody wants to be us.
let me know when your whole life goes up in smoke.
learned a lot. in the end, though, i kind of screwed up.
you must have done something right.
find me that piece of paper i had in my hand yesterday morning.
my flight has been cancelled. it's some absurd weather problem.
i need to get home tonight.
let me see what i can do.
oh my god. she's going to murder me.
could i do that?
by all means move at a glacial pace. you know how that thrills me.
that's my problem because... oh, wait. no, it's not my problem.
i don't know what else i can do because if i do something right, it's unacknowledged.
so quit.
i don't want to quit.
that's not fair.
you are not trying. you are whining.
what is it that you want me to say to you?
you have no idea how many legends have walked these halls.
wake up, sweetheart.
i see your point.
that's all.
you have no sense of fashion.
that wasn't a question.
do you have some prior commitment?
i don't understand why it's so difficult to confirm an appointment.
you went upstairs?
i don't know what you expect me to do.
we're doing this for you.
you'll take what i give you and you'll like it.
can we adjust the attitude?
i love that. will that fit me?
you have some very large shoes to fill. i hope you know that.
who is that sad little person?
wish me luck!
you're already late.
i hope you two are very happy together.
that's an interesting choice.
you don't deserve them.
oh god, you're still there.
i thought you were kidding.
i'm out of excuses.
who's there? who are you talking to?
i'm sorry, what's your name?
do you have anything fun planned for this weekend?
i wouldn't care if you were out there pole-dancing all night, as long as you did it with a little integrity.
baby, i don't have a thing to wear to work.
how many times do i have to scream your name?
you're a vision.

PROMPTS FOR THE MORNING AFTER * adjust as necessary, nsfw implied
this... isn't my bed.
i'll make us breakfast.
wait, how long have you been here?
did you stay the night?
you're so beautiful like this.
did i give you that hickey?
don't get up. stay right here.
kiss me again.
nice bedhead.
are you... wearing anything?
this was a bad idea.
i've wanted to do that forever.
did you enjoy it?
i did a number on your back. sorry about that.
is this your shirt?
maybe you should go.
i had a great time.
if you stay, i'll make us coffee.
i shouldn't have stayed over.
come back here. please?
i've never been like that with anyone before.
there's a bra on the ceiling fan.
did we... actually...?
we could do it again, if you want.
you made me feel... incredible.
was it... okay?
you look beautiful in my bed.
what do you remember?
was i too loud?
you can borrow my shirt.
i guess this makes us more than friends.
this can't be happening.
i could spend the day just like this, right here with you.
is that a hickey?
this was just for fun. it doesn't mean we're together.
this wasn't supposed to happen.
should we talk about it?
what time is it? i'm late for work.
how long have you been awake?
i remember... everything.
we should do that again sometime.
i think we cuddled.
that was the best night of my life.
what parts do you remember?
why don't you stay for breakfast?
was it good for you?
the sex was great.
how do you like your eggs?
are we still friends?
sorry, i've got morning breath.
i'd really like to keep seeing you.
i'm glad i invited you in.
finally... fucking finally.
please don't leave the bed.
don't make fun of me if i walk funny.
this doesn't mean anything.
my friends are never going to believe this.
i don't even know who i was last night.
no one's ever taken care of me like that.
let me help you clean up.
maybe we should forget this even happened.
i'm just going to... leave.
you said some wild things last night.
you're wearing my shirt.
maybe we could make this a regular thing.
am i blushing? i'm blushing, aren't i.
where did i put my glasses?
your clothes are in the living room.
i need a shower.
your hair's a mess.
you make a great pillow.
i thought we agreed this would ruin our relationship.
did i do something wrong?
we were pretty loud.
do you want me to leave?
i asked you to stay the night.
i bet your neighbors hate us.
stay like this.
well, that's one way to bounce back.
what about round two?
don't let go of me.
why don't you join me in the shower?
we can't keep doing this.
we're fucked, aren't we.
how long have i been asleep?
i tried to keep feelings out of this. i really did.
