General thing in my version of Nevada, because animals started leaving and dying out after everything started to go to hell, some scientists attempted experiments to make new species that are stronger and more likely to survive the new state of Nevada.

They messed up. Ended up creating Grunt/Animal hybrids. They escaped.

nevadeans have no real, rigid concept of gender bc they have no biological sexes (they all have the ability to reproduce asexually! something i might get into in another ask) but they still kind of have an idea of presentation?

like, instead of it being "this is a Boy style and this is a Girl style" masculine and feminine are two possible ways to present among a basically endless sea, and there's no expectation for what you decide on or how. however, they do still kind of have an idea of transgender, bc they understand that identity is a fluid, ever-changing thing, so you could suddenly wake up one day and be like "hmm! i don't like presenting this way anymore, i want to try something else out!"

and that can be as big or as small of a change as the individual personally wants it to be. they might consider themselves trans and completely reinvent themselves, or they might not think anything of it at all. it's all up to how the individual wants to handle it!!
