So, I’m a new player here, but I love classpecting so here goes:

Mallek Adalov feels like a Mage of Time. Like, okay, Mages are marked by the verb ‘know’, but so are Seers. The difference comes from how Mages already know their aspect while Seers have to get to know their aspect. Afterwards, Seers hesitantly act upon their knowledge, whereas Mages already have been trying to act on that knowledge, simply with failure and suffering. (and yes, I know the Extended Zodiac pinned ‘suffering’ on the Doom-bound but we can’t ignore how Meulin is a Mage of Heart and still suffered due to her aspect, because of Kurloz, her ‘heart’) Anyway, so Mallek is a hacker, he works with machines, as Time is associated with. Specifically, he tries to crack the code of drones to control them. He already know about them, and how they work, he just can’t use that information to do what he wants: control them. That’s why he tries to get to the MSPA reader, in hopes that will help him do what he knows needs doing.

Additionally, the reason he is even doing that is equally telling to his class. He knows he’s running out of Time, because he says he barely has ‘perigrees’ to get the drones figured out before he is shipped off to space. He suffers because he knows Time, and he knows he’s running out.

So, therefore, knowing Mages already “know” their aspect and try desperately to use that knowledge helpfully, will fail to do so, and are marred by suffering under their Aspect, and Mallek does the same, he is a Mage. I guess there is a solid argument here for him being a Seer, with him trying to crack into the drone’s being him trying to “know” his aspect, but I feel like Mage is more fitting.
