You pulled away pressing your forehead to his and giggled, "Please don't throw up this time."
He chuckled rising to his feet and tugging you back into the house.
"Wha-" You huffed as he dragged you upstairs.
You weren't sure what to expect when he shoved you into his room and locked the door behind him. Logically thinking it was to keep Ace and Luffy from barging in.
Immediately his lips were on yours, body pressing you against the wall between the door and his dresser. Your arms instinctively wound around his neck while his hands roamed up and down your sides. He left a hot trail of kisses down your neck leaving a mark or two in search of your sweet spot. Reaching the dip of your collar bone and causing a gasp to rake the back of your throat, he hummed continuing to lick and nibble.
"Marco~" You murmured in a voice he'd never heard before.
He broke away searching your flustered face then glancing at the door that was just inches away.
"I'm not sharing that voice." He smirked turning on the radio on his dresser before pulling your thighs up around his waist and carrying you to his bed.
Making sure to keep almost no distance between you, he sat you on the edge of the mattress tipping your chin up into another deep kiss before gently pushing you into the middle of the bed. Your fingers wove into his hair while your lungs burned begging for air.
This was really happening.
You laid there panting overwhelmed by your surroundings and the person currently pushing your shirt up planting kisses up your torso.
"Marccooooo!" Luffy shouted down the hall.
The blond continued his advance up your body.
"Ooiiiii! Marco!" He bristled at the sound of knuckles dragging against the door.
"What yoi?" He snapped slumping over you nuzzling into the crook of your neck.
"The movie starts soon! Hurry up! Why's the door locked?" The youngest wiggled the knob shoving his shoulder against the door.
"Stop trying to break in." Marco barked sitting up, "Get Thatch to take you."
"He's asleep and you promised." The pout was evident in his voice.
"You should go if you promised." You whispered.
It was rare for the brothers to get one on one time especially between the eldest two and Luffy because of their age gaps. You didn't want to break that up.
"But..." Marco whined looking over your half naked body.
"Helllooooooo!?" Luffy called again sounding more irritated.
"Geez. I'm coming yoi. Go wait downstairs." He dragged his hand over his face.
"Yes shishishi!" Luffy stomped away.
You tugged your shirt down adjusting your bra as you sat up next to the pouting blond.
"Just so you know I'd rather be here." He pressed his nose against yours.
"I know." You hummed.
"And we'll finish this later." He kissed you softly and hopped off the bed.
                                                                   ________________
When Thatch woke up in the late afternoon you helped him get Sunday dinner ready. Marco and Luffy returned as you were setting the table, so you put the youngest to work.
"Set an extra place F/N." Thatch called, "Sabo is bringing Koala."
"Luffy go grab another plate please."
The raven turned on his heel and skipped off to the kitchen.
"Did you guys have fun?" You glanced over at the blond as he watched you from the doorway.
"He still has too much energy." Marco replied moving across the room, "I took him to that old arcade on Georgetown, he dragged me all over the building."
"Poor baby~." You cooed.
"Baby? I could get used to that." He chuckled pulling you into his chest where you nestled your burning face.
"Is F/N OK?" Luffy asked with genuine concern.
This wasn't a sight he'd ever been privy to. You and Marco did not hug, not like this.
"She's fine yoi." Marco grumbled tired of his brother's interruptions.
You stepped back offering a bright smile. Luffy shrugged and set the plate down. Soon the house was full, and Thatch was calling everyone to the table. Marco changed his routine taking the seat next to you earning wiggly brows from Thatch and Ace.
Through most of dinner he rested his hand just above your knee occasionally rubbing circles with his thumb sending a pleasant buzz through your body. You noticed pops' golden eyes drift toward you and the pineapple a few times during the meal forcing a flush over your cheeks. Marco however, remained calm, lazily shoveling food into his mouth. You weren't ready to be quizzed about what this was because you still hadn't had an actual conversation. Sensing their father's curiosity Thatch got pops' attention asking about his upcoming fishing trip.
After dinner and clean up Marco slipped out to the porch.
"Where are you going?" Ace asked watching you take your keys off the hook by the door.
"To check my P.O. box." You shrugged into your hoodie and stepped out on the deck.
"Hey." Marco smiled turning toward you.
"Wanna go for a ride?" You asked jingling your keys.
"If I get to drive." He stood snatching the keys out of your hand.
The windshield wipers almost kept time with the song softly playing as Marco pulled down the gravel drive that lead to the empty plot of land the family owned on the lake.
"I don't think I've ever been here after dark." You commented unbuckling your seatbelt.
"Well, it's nicer when it isn't pouring yoi." He turned to you after cutting the engine.
It was quiet for a few beats before he spoke again.
"I don't even know how to bring this up without sounding really cheesy."
"I love cheese." You winked.
He deadpanned before continuing, "I mean... I've wanted this to happen for a long time. I know you had a crush when you were younger, and I think after finding that out I realized I felt the same way. But because of our age difference I kept my distance."
You flushed so deeply you had to be on fire. Before you could react properly he was capturing your lips fighting the center console for more space.
"Wa-wait." You breathed placing your palms against his chest.
Marco sat back a bit bewildered as you crawled into the back seat tugging him along behind you. He quickly recovered forcing you back into the seat while he kissed you with ravenous lips. The situation progressed quickly as his hand slipped into your panties gliding his fingers over your clit. Wanting to return the favor you reached down fumbling with the button of his jeans finally freeing his erect member. You pushed him back dipping your head down placing his tip against your lips. He let out a shaky breath as you pushed him into your mouth dragging your tongue along his shaft with every stroke. His fingers raked through your tresses brushing locks out of your face. You hummed against him causing more lustful sounds to fill the car.
He stopped you bringing your face back up for a kiss pushing his tongue passed your lips and pressing you back into the seat. Both of you fought between huffs and lip locking to yank your leggings down not even managing to get them off completely.
Marco pressed his forehead to yours looking into your eyes before grabbing your hips and lining himself up with your entrance. Loud moans escaped you as he began to thrust, not bothering to start out slowly. Honestly, you'd both waited long enough and would have plenty of time later for cuddly sweet moments. Right now, you just needed each other.
You ran your fingers up his tee shirt brushing over his tattooed chest. He shivered somehow picking up his pace as you breathed his name. Feeling the hot coil in your abdomen begin to tighten you tucked his shirt into your fists reeling him in for a quick kiss. Your lips traced his jaw stopping at his ear.
"I really love you." You breathed as he pressed his face into your shoulder finding his release causing your coil to snap.
"I love you too yoi." He huffed wrapping his arms around you, "I'm sorry our first time was in the car."
"Better than getting interrupted constantly." You chuckled, "And my room is too close to pops."
                                                                            _________________
You sat cross legged on the floor game controller resting loosely in your hands.
"I don't know why I let you guys talk me into this." You grumbled.
"You really do suck at it." Ace laughed through your headset.
"You won't let me be good at it." You whined, "And Marco... Don't even get me started on how much trouble you're in."
"Someone had to complete the mission yoi" The blond defended.
"But you just let your stupid brother wait for me to respawn only to shoot me again."
"Hey!" Ace hollered, "I'm not stupid."
You heard footsteps rushing down the hall to your old room where you sat in front of your tv.
"I beg to differ." You scoffed.
"The fact remains that your own fiancé did nothing to save you." Thatch rumbled as said fiancé wound one arm around your waist and slipped the headset off you.
"Shut up ingrates."
Ace whistled from the living room as Marco turned off the game system with his foot.
"Forgive me?" He murmured against the shell of your ear sending goosebumps across your flesh.
"You're lucky you're cute."

A strong mixture of alcohol and mint permeated your mouth as his tongue breached your lips. Your makeup towelette dropped into your lap surely leaving mascara smeared across your face but that didn't matter, right now the first man you'd ever fallen in love with was kissing you. You stayed like this a few seconds longer lips moving over each other greedily until the blond pulled back abruptly shooting to his feet.
"S-sorry yoi." He threw his hand over his mouth and sprinted down the hall slamming the bathroom door.
Welp. That didn't go so well.
You reluctantly followed him down the hall to make sure he was alright.
"Marco?" You murmured tapping on the pressed wood.
"It's OK yoi." He gagged, "I'm fine."
"Says the guy yacking all over the bathroom."
"Everything OK?" Ace appeared next to you sending your soul straight out of your body.
"What. Is. Wrong. With. You?!" You swatted at the raven.
"Ah ah what did I do?!" He giggled playfully fending you off.
He'd always been able to sneak up on people, like an adorable freckled ninja.
Marco's retching interrupted your bickering.
"I'll take care of him." Your best friend palmed your shoulder, "Go get the rest of the makeup off your face, you look like a raccoon."
"Shut up." You pouted turning back toward your room nearly running right into pops.
"What's going on out here lass?" The old man questioned.
"Sorry pops. Marco had a little too much to drink."
"Tattle!" Marco called between heaves as Ace slipped into the room.
"Oh god!" The raven howled.
"Get some rest." Pops rumbled cupping your chin, "I'll take care of these idiots."
"Good night then." You kissed his cheek.
"G'night lass." He hummed as you passed turning his attention toward the bathroom, "I've got the perfect cure for you my boy!"
"Pops, no. Please." Marco whined before you disappeared into your room.
You laid in bed with your newly decorated shirt draped over your face, taking in a deep breath enjoying the sweet earthy scent that Marco always left behind.
This was so...awkward. How were you going to face him in the morning? He probably wouldn't even have done it if he were sober. And here you were drowning in feelings you'd worked so hard to bury.
"Stupid pineapple." You moved the shirt to your night stand and switched off the light.
You woke up to weight dipping into the mattress next to you.
"Ace." You grumbled rolling over.
"How'd you know?" The raven whispered cuddling up beside you.
You deadpanned, "You're the only one rude enough to just come in here without knocking. Besides you've done this since we were little."
"Why can't I have a sleep over with my bestie whenever I want?"
"Well, usually you'd be invited." You smirked flicking his nose.
"How was the date?" He asked ignoring your comment.
"Awful." You sighed, "He insulted me right off the bat, started a very loud argument with some guy in the middle of the dining room, ordered for me because I'm cheap and didn't even offer to take me to my car, among other things"
"What about after?"
"After? I picked up your idiot drunk brother." You narrowed your eyes as a smile broke out across his freckled face, "...he told you?"
"You can thank me after you guys get married." He chuckled.
"Thank you?" You echoed.
"Yeah I pretty much made this happen." He stated proudly.
"What?"
"Luffy is friends with that Law guy. I knew you'd hate it. And Marco was sooo jealous." He snickered.
"That's messed up." You punched his arm.
"Ugh. What. You needed to get over that curly browed jackass and Marco needs to admit that he loooves you~~"
"He doesn't." You pulled your pillow over your face muffling your voice.
"You two are so ridiculous." Ace yawned.
                                                                          ________________
You woke up shivering while Ace snored heavily beside you rolled up in your comforter.
Asshole.
"Morning F/N." Thatch flashed you a blinding smile popping a kcup into the coffee brewer.
"Hey." You husked still waking up, "What are you so smiley about?"
"No reason." He shrugged handing you your mug so you could add what you liked.
"I can't believe I slept so late." You groaned.
"According to pops you were up pretty late."
"Yeah well, things got a little messy." You chuckled.
"I heard." He smiled again, "You should get some fresh air. It'll wake you up."
You narrowed your gaze at the brunette as he held out your hoodie that hung by the door.
It was a set up.
Slipping into the jacket with a sigh you stepped out on the porch. Marco sat perfectly still in the bench swing chin resting in his palm as he leaned on the arm rest. He blinked slowly not turning away from the rain dripping off the eves while you took a seat beside him.
"I really want a smoke yoi."
"Then have one." You murmured warming your hands with your hot coffee mug.
"I got rid of them when you moved in remember?"
"Right." You nodded.
The sound of the rain pattering against the sidewalk took over while you tried to calm yourself enough to bring up what had happened the night before.
"Can I ask you something?" You shifted.
He hummed drowsily.
"Um... Do you remember anything from last night?"
The blond sighed rubbing his temples, "I owe you a huge apology yoi. I shouldn't have jumped you like that."
"It's not...really a problem." You shifted again focusing on the rain splashing against the house.
"I feel like a creep yoi." He deflated.
You stood placing your mug on the railing. Dipping down in front of the hungover pineapple you ran your hands along either side of his jaw tipping his head back to meet your gaze.
"You're the complete opposite of a creep." You pressed your lips against his.

You had initially thought this date wouldn't be so bad. You were wrong.
What you thought had been a Big Lebowski crack when he met you at the bar was actually a jab. He'd never even seen the movie. Who hates on bowling? You didn't mind a little sarcasm, look who you're surrounded by 24/7, but this guy was sort of mean about it.
He's a surgeon and a good one apparently, well known by most of the patrons surrounding you. One of which he got into a heated argument with. The attractive redhead eventually noticed your embarrassment and apologized before going back to his table. Law didn't apologize though; he actually didn't seem to care at all that you were embarrassed by all of the gawking their outburst had caused.
This cocky shit.
Super hot..cocky shit
The server came and picked up your menus. When he turned and asked what you wanted Law spoke instead ordering for you.
"I hope you don't mind." He started, "You seem like the type who will order the cheapest thing on the menu... to be polite or course."
Rude!
Well, there was truth to that but it didn't need to be pointed out.
"Excuse me for a moment." You smiled and stood.
Once you reached the ladies room you fished you phone out of your clutch furiously dialing Nami only to get her voicemail.
"Why would you set me up with this gorgeous asshole?? You are totally gonna pay for this."
Me: Worst. Date. Ever
Ace: Its all in your head. Give the guy a chance.
Ace: you didn't want this to work out in the first place.
Me: shut up
Me: he's a colossal ass
Ace: I'm not rescuing you so give it up and go back to your dinner
Me: I hate your dumb freckled face!
Ace: I love you too my darling sweet best friend
You sighed in defeat tapping your free hand on the counter as you scrolled through your text log and stopped on Marco's name. You could do it, but you also knew he might actually show up. And as much as you wanted him to, you also didn't.
Ace sat on the sofa chuckling to himself.
"What's so funny yoi?" Marco asked rounding the corner.
"Oh F/N was trying to fake emergency her way out of her date." He waved his phone, "I told her she had to suck it up."
"She wouldn't ask if she didn't have good reason, right?" The blond slipped into his favorite teal hoodie that hung by the door.
"She's just being difficult because she didn't want to go in the first place. It's for her own good. You should have seen her before she left." Ace turned to face his brother wiggling his brows.
"That's OK." Marco shrugged.
He'd honestly rather not see you dressed up for a fancy date.
"Where you going?" Ace asked suspiciously.
"The bar. Not that I have to tell you anyway."
_____________
"Will you stop sulking?" Thatch placed a shot in front of his brother.
"I'm not sulking yoi."
"What's up with him?" Shanks nodded toward the depressed blond.
"Nothing." Marco replied.
"He's upset because F/N is on a blind date with Trafalgar Law." Thatch laughed earning a sharp glare from his brother.
"She's hating it by the way." Marco started, "She was texting Ace."
"Not surprising." A female voice chirped from the other side of Shanks.
All three males turned to the pinkette.
"That guy has a terrible attitude. He's super hot though."
"Not helping Bonney." Thatch chuckled.
Bonney shrugged continuing to munch her order of nachos.
Marco spent almost two hours at the bar getting pity drinks from women who thought he'd just been dumped. He sat slumped forward eyes barely open, mentally torturing himself. What if the date took a turn for the better because you decided to give him a chance. A surgeon certainty sounded better than a high school art teacher, right?
Thatch : Can you come get this sad sack?
[[ Image received from Thatch ]]
Me: Yes! I'll be there in 15 or less.
You shook your head at the picture of a completely wasted Marco slouched over Thatch's bar.
"Everything ok?" Law inquired.
"Ah, yeah. Seems my friend got pretty drunk and I need to go pick them up." You smiled retrieving your keys from your clutch.
"I'm sure we'll see each other around." He smirked handing the valet his ticket.
"Sure. Thanks for tonight." You nodded and made your way to the mall parking lot the next block over.
You were so glad to get away from that stuffy place. Tossing your heels in the back seat you shifted into gear and turned onto the main road.
"Over here." Thatch pointed to the end of the bar.
"Hey F/N! You're looking well ~" Shanks winked as you passed.
"Charming as usual Red." You smiled slipping into seat next to the blond, "Oi...pineapple ~"
"Heeeey F/N." Marco smiled turning his sleepy gaze to you, "When did you get here yoi?"
"I'm here to take you home you drunken goon." You laughed.
"I'm n-not drunk." He hiccupped.
"Oh of course not." You stood as Thatch rounded the bar to help you pull him off the stool.
The drive home was quiet until Marco started fumbling with your radio. You didn't mind, you shared the same taste in music. He opted for a Blue October CD that was already in turning it up before slouching back into the seat.
What if we could
Where would we go
If it felt right
Would you want me to know
I would meet you
Would you meet me
Wildly appreciate lyrics for the car ride. You skipped to the next song.
"Sorry yoi." The blond murmured.
"For what?"
"You had to leave your fancy date to get me."
You chuckled, "If anything I should thank you. You saved me from having an awkward 'I'm not coming home with you conversation."
"He was gonna take you home yoi?" He sat up.
"He didn't say it...but I have a feeling that's how most of his dates end."
Marco frowned, "Bonney said he is super hot yoi."
"Well, I can't deny that." You looked at the pouty drunk, "But he isn't my type."
"I see." He relaxed.
"Think you've sobered up enough to walk a little? The boys aren't home and I'm sure pops is asleep." You asked pulling into the drive way and parking.
"Mhm." He hummed heaving himself out of the car.
"I mean I'll help you, idiot." You grabbed your shoes and shuffled to steady him.
"Ya know, you look really nice tonight yoi." He commented snaking an arm around your waist.
"At least someone acknowledges my effort." You laughed, "I thought it was customary to compliment your date."
"He must be blind yoi."
"Thanks." You flushed.
The two of you shambled into the house.
"Where do you want me to drop you? I'm not risking the stairs."
"Couch yoi."
"Your yois are more frequent when you're drunk." You commented earning a flushed glare from the blond, "What? It's cute don't worry."
He seemed more flustered as you plopped down on the sofa together.
"You wanna sleep out here? I'll get you a blanket and some water."
"Yeah thanks." He yawned stretching out.
After getting Marco situated you retired to your room to get comfortable.
What a weird fucking night.
A light tap brought you back to your door. Rubbing your makeup remover wipe over your face you opened it revealing a swaying Marco.
"Sorry yoi... I forgot to give you your shirt." He said far too loudly in the quiet hallway.
"Hush, you'll wake pops." You pulled him into the room.
He held up a small brown bag and plopped down on your bed. You took it and continued to wipe your makeup off taking a seat next to Marco. The plain gray v-neck you'd given him four days ago now had an elaborate turquois phoenix soaring across it.
"Marco this is amazing." You held it up to get a better look at the intricate detail of the curling flames.
"I'm glad you like it." He replied sheepishly.
"Like is an understatement." You wrapped your arms around his neck.
Before you knew it his lips were on yours.

Marco: I fucked up!
Thatch: I'm trying to sleep man
Marco: I kissed F/N before I left for work
Thatch: Thats a hilarious string of autocorrects
Marco: She did my tie and we were talking and I just kissed her on the cheek
Thatch: on the cheek?!
Thatch: I could be sleeping right now and you're talking about pecks on the cheek?!
Marco: cmon man. You know there are reasons I never do that stuff with her
Thatch: yeah 10 years ago.
Thatch: she's an adult now
Marco: but she just got out of a relationship
Thatch:yeah... you never had good timing
Thatch: now leave me alone
___________
It really wasn't a big deal. Luffy, Thatch and Ace kissed your forehead and cheek all the time. Sabo even had a few special occasions like your birthday or the time you got caught under the mistletoe a few years ago. But never Marco. He'd ruffle your hair to make you mad or slap your back and of course if the time called for it, a good old innocent side hug. He hugged his brothers often and well, you'd seen him kiss more girls than you'd care to remember.
Now that you think about it why did you seem to be the one being singled out here? This was getting depressing.
Your thoughts shifted to his warm and surprisingly soft lips. How he gently swayed with you while you cried into his shirt two months ago.
Ugh. What is this?
It was just too comfortable, completely natural and required zero effort. Like everything you ever did with Marco. Though Ace was your best friend and by far the closest brother to you he was incredibly hard headed; as was Luffy. You'd swear they were related by blood. Sabo always did his own thing and was far too clean and polite to have been raised in this house. Thatch was the group mom despite his mischievous streak. He was always stopping you from making a mess and making sure you learned your lesson.
Familiar feelings bubbled through your chest.
It was nothing. It was nothing. It was nothing.
"I know that face." Ace smirked pushing the bottoms of his feet flush with yours as you laid on opposite ends on the sofa.
"You don't." You replied flatly.
"Mhm ~" He hummed, "You're thinking ab-"
"Ace," You interrupted raising your right leg, "If you ever want to have kids you won't finish that sentence."
"OK geez." The raven whined protectively cupping his groin.
"F/N!" Thatch shouted from the kitchen, "Set the table. Dinner is almost ready."
You pushed yourself off the couch and slinked into the kitchen. Marco was pulling plates down from the cabinet so you counted out and gathered utensils.
Family dinner was something pops made sure happened as often as possible. There were usually at least two or three of you missing during dinner on week nights which is why no matter what everyone came together on Sunday evenings, no devices allowed, for dinner. Tonight, Sabo and Luffy would be out and Thatch had to leave as soon as he was done eating for his shift at the bar.
There was a bit of awkward tension as you and the blond walked into the dining room to set the table.
"Uh about this morning yoi."
You didn't lift your eyes from the napkin you were folding.
Be cool. No biggie.
"No worries. It was like a knee jerk thing, right?" Your face was on fire.
Don't look up.
"Well - uh."
"It's just a peck on the cheek, everyone does it." You shrugged forcing your shaky hands to keep folding, "You just aren't as affectionate as the others so it caught me off guard."
You saw his shoulders drop a little in your peripheral.
"Ah yeah," He let out an airy chuckle, "I just didn't want you to be weirded out."
See me, no big deal.
"Of course not." You forced a smile.
Why did it feel so disappointing?
He made a speedy exit while you sighed and finished setting the table.
This was reminiscent of high school and that wasn't good. All of the teasing and weird feelings really strained your relationship with the pineapple. Things were finally sort of normal.
You passed through the kitchen door hushing the whispering brothers immediately.
Suspicious.
"What's going to the table Thatchy?"
"Marco will take it. Can you go get pops from the garage? Please?" The brunette smiled over his shoulder at you.
"Aye-aye." You sauntered out to the garage to fetch the old man.
"Nami called you while you were outside." Ace chirped following you into the dining room where Marco and Thatch already sat on either side of pops' seat.
"Did you answer it?" That was a stupid question, of course he had.
"Yup!" He grinned, "She wants to set you up on a date."
"I'll tell her no later." You sighed slouching down next to Thatch.
"Oh - I already told her you'd do it." He said gaining the attention of everyone at the table.
"W-hy would you do that?" You gaped.
"What? It's been long enough."
"Two months." You strained.
"Exactly." He nodded.
"You can't just decide things for her yoi." Marco swatted the raven.
"I'll just call her after dinner." You huffed.
"Well, maybe you should go." Pops suggested shifting the shocked glares from Ace to himself.
"I thought you loved me pops." You whined.
"Of course, I do!" The old man boomed, "A little date won't kill ya. You might even feel better after."
"It's not like you have to marry the guy." Thatch added.
"Would you like to add to the betrayal?" You crossed your arms and glared at Marco.
He sipped his beer and very calmly shook his head.
"We just want you to be happy lass." Pops added.
"I'm ... " You paused thinking about the last 12 hours, "Ugh. Fine I'll do it. But I'm gonna be an awful date."
_________
You sat nervously twisting a lock of your hair at the five-star hotel's bar/restaurant. It was an enormous opulent room with huge chandeliers dangling from the vaulted ceiling. You'd made sure to dress accordingly and had no problem getting your hair and makeup exactly how you liked. But you still felt out of place. This place was expensive – too expensive for a blind date. It was the kind of restaurant that you go to for your ten-year anniversary.
"Can I get you a cocktail miss?" The young bartender asked wiping the marble counter in front of you.
You weren't a cocktail girl... but you didn't see a beer tap or any bottles for that matter.
"Can I just get a white Russian?" You slid your credit card across the counter to open a tab.
"I've got this." A smooth baritone voice drifted over your shoulder as a tattooed hand slid your card back, "A white Russian? Would you like to go bowling after this?"
You chuckled at his reference, eyes trailing up his tailored sleeve to his ridiculously attractive relaxed face. What the hell was Nami thinking? Thick black hair shadowed his sharp dark features that were only enhanced by his seemingly glowing amber eyes.
"Trafalgar Law." He stated evenly responding to your no doubt bewildered expression.
I AM gonna be a awful date.

"Good morning lass." Pops murmured emerging from the hall that lead to both of your respective rooms.
"You're up early." You turned toward the single cup coffee maker taking his dark roast blend out of the cabinet and pouring it into the reusable metal cup.
"Could say the same for you. The sun isn't even up. I wish you'd been like this in your school days." He chuckled taking a seat at the table.
"Don't underestimate me; I can still sleep the day away if given the chance. Still two sugars and a drop of milk?" The old man nodded, "I just wanted to get some apartment hunting done before work."
"I hope you're not in a rush to leave, we only just got you back."
"You talk like I wasn't home every Sunday evening." You placed his cup on the table and took your seat in front of your laptop.
"You know you can stay as long as you want. There's more order when you're around and I miss my only daughter."
"Thanks pops. It'll be a while; I'm just looking at places right now." You smiled.
Marco shambled down the stairs yawning. His lavender button down falling open, revealing the white cotton tank beneath that you could faintly see the outline of his chest tattoo through. A black tie hung over his shoulders.
"Morning F/N, pops." He continued to the coffee maker taking his mug from the hook below the cabinet.
Pops hummed standing to make his way to the patio to watch the sun rise. This was a morning ritual he'd had as long as you'd known him. Occasionally on cold mornings you'd join him, neither of you breathing a word, just simply enjoying the view.
"Morning Pineapple ~ " You sipped your coffee, "You were out late."
"Was I?" The blond cocked his head, "I didn't know I had to report in yoi."
"You don't." Your brows knit, "I was just surprised you're up so early."
"It is a school day." He sighed buttoning the shirt.
"Kids have electives first period now?" You asked.
"It's block scheduling now yoi. I have four hour and a half classes a day." He sat next to you.
"What's first on your agenda?"
"Art four is first period today. They're my smallest class so we're doing silk screening."
"Ah that's so cool. I had to retake algebra two senior year so I had to drop art." You frowned.
"I remember." The blond chuckled, "Pops was so disappointed."
An embarrassed flush spread over your cheeks.
"You want me to make you a tee shirt yoi?" He flipped his collar up and started to fumble with the tie.
"Really? It's been a super long time since you made me anything." You smiled watching him clearly have a hard time, "Come here you aren't doing it right."
He scooted toward you and tipped his chin up.
"I have to make an example for them anyway." He hummed.
"OK I'll give you one of my plain shirts before you leave." You wove the tie around your fingers, "How do you wear a tie every day and not know how to tie it?"
"Thatch ties them and I leave them that way yoi." You rolled your eyes, "How do you know how to tie them?"
You chuckled as he glanced down at you brow cocked.
"Thatch. He said it'd be a great way to impress a boyfriend one day." You winked, "Impressed?"
"I can't believe he was teaching you how to seduce guys in high school." He scoffed looking away from you as you straightened the tie.
"I was too awkward to use those skills anyway." You laughed sitting back to admire your work, "There you look sort of respectable."
"It was useful in the end huh?" Thatch's voice chimed from the doorway.
His hair was down and his shirt was stained with lipstick and missing buttons.
"Look at you walk-of-shaming on a Monday." You laughed crossing the room for another cup of coffee.
"Ah yeah." He flashed a cheeky smile, "Gonna hit the shower before anyone else gets up."
"Yeah I gotta get going too yoi." Marco stood cuffing his sleeves.
"Oh the shirt." You disappeared down the hall reappearing with a heather gray v-neck.
"Thanks. Have a good day at work." He tossed your shirt over his shoulder and pecked your cheek before heading out the door.
"D-did Marco just kiss you?!" Ace practically shrieked - obviously as surprised as you.
You whipped around to face the wide eyed raven unable to find any words and even if you could you weren't breathing.
Breathe!
Ace crossed the room grabbing your shoulders and scrunching his freckled face.
"What's going on here F/N?"
"I- I don't think he even knows he did it." You breathed.
"How could he not? He doesn't do stuff like that." He argued.
"I'm just as confused as you." You shrugged out of your best friend's grasp.
"Heeeeey F/N!!!" Luffy called stomping down the stairs, "Can you drop me off at the campus library on your way to work?"
"S-sure ya got 10 minutes to get ready and meet me at the car." You replied screwing your travel lid onto your coffee cup.
Ace just stood in the middle of the kitchen.
"Don't make a big deal out of it. It was nothing." You tapped his cheek and turned for the door stepping out on the porch.
"What happened to Marco?" Pops asked from his seat on the bench swing, "He came out here red as a tomato."
"No idea." You replied coolly before kissing the old man's cheek and hopping down the steps, "Have a great day pops!"
"You too." He called back.

"Do you know what's happening here?" Ace whispered to Thatch.
"No idea." The eldest replied.
Sabo passed through quietly with a sleeping Luffy on his back.
"He's totally stealing my friend." Ace pouted watching you grip Marco's shirt in your sleep.
The two of you ended up lying down completely on the sofa. Marco had one arm draped around your shoulders while the other was tucked between the side of his head and the couch. Your face was buried in his chest while you seemed to clutch his shirt for dear life.
"Will you shut up yoi." Marco whispered, eyes still shut, "She's finally actually sleeping."
"I'll take her to her room." Thatch crossed the room while Marco gently uncoiled your death grip on his clothes.
You stirred and grimaced as you were lifted away from your heat source and carried down the hall to your room under the stairs.
"What time is it?" You yawned as Thatch placed you on your mattress.
"Close to midnight." He replied, "You crashed on the couch. Try to get some more rest."
He pulled your blanket up to your chin.
"You're such a good mom Thatchy." You gave him a cheeky smile.
"And you're an awful child." He brushed your hair out of your face and stood, "G'night F/N."
"Night." You murmured rolling over in search of warmth.
You'd managed to sleep the entire day away. For a moment you wondered what Marco had been up to all afternoon and felt a bit guilty for falling asleep. It was much needed though. You hadn't managed more than two hours at a time every night for the last few weeks. Waking up angry or sad and pacing or reading until it was time to get ready for work.
Worse, you had no appetite. Thatch had tried to remedy that with making your favorite things but just a few nibbles and you were done.
Two years didn't seem like much to most people, maybe not long enough to be this depressed. But it was a brightly burning passionate relationship - or so you'd been lead to believe. You had stayed up late with each other making plans, a house, marriage, little curly browed babies - the whole nine. And poof it was gone.
Stupid.
That did it. You were wide awake now.
The door slowly creaked open and softly shut as bare feet padded across the faux wood floor.
"Ace...did you not learn from this morning?" You asked sternly.
"I knew you were awake." He whispered rolling into the bed with you.
"What do you think you're doing?" You flopped over to face him.
"Marco is trying to steal you from me." His face was dead serious.
"Well firstly, I don't know what that means. And B. I don't belong to you." You jabbed your index finger into his chest.
"You were my friend first!" His bottom lip jutted out.
"We're still bff's. I'm not understanding the issue." You furrowed your brows.
"Well you went straight to him this morning and you guys were pretty cozy on the couch."
"I did not and what?" You remembered leaning on him before you passed out but surely he didn't sit there all day with you.
"Yeah... You were all curled up on him when we got home." His lips curled into a mischievous grin as he scanned your bewildered expression, "That sneaky fuck."
"What?" You felt your cheeks heat up.
"Nothing." He sat up, "Wanna play a game?"
"Ok... But something I'm good at." You slipped out of bed and turned on the TV and game system.
___________
"Hey F/N." Marco knocked stirring you, "Have you seen or heard from Ace?"
"Present." Ace mumbled dangling halfway off your bed.
The door swung open and Marco marched over to the raven plucking him up by his shirt collar.
"Wha?!" Ace sputtered his ruby eyes snapping open as his own body weight worked against him.
"Why can't you let F/N alone yoi? She told you not to come in here yesterday." The blond scolded, stopping when he heard you laugh.
Not sarcastic chuckles or fake airy laughs you'd been famous for as of late. It was a good hardy laugh that echoed off the walls as Ace fought his way out of his brother's grip. Marco turned to you his half lidded eyes widened enough for you to see his clear blue irises.
"Sorry..." You started, catching your breath, "I couldn't get back to sleep so we played video games all night."
Ace gave Marco a smug glare before the blond dropped him to the floor.
"That's fucked up F/N, you didn't even try to help me." The raven stood with a pout.
"Quit being a baby yoi."
"He's just jealous." You stretched, "He thinks you're trying to steal me."
Marco turned back to his younger brother ears slightly flushed and murmured something you couldn't hear.
"No way!" The freckled male protested.
"Hey, you guys bicker somewhere else. I wanna get in the shower."
Marco stalked out catching Luffy as he raced toward your door.
"She needs a bit yoi."
Ace deflated shoulders slumping and followed his brothers out.
"What's on the agenda today?" You asked emerging from your room.
"I was going to go to the store for Thatch while he's at work." Sabo replied from the sofa.
"Mind if I tag along?" You plopped down next to him.
"Me too!" Ace and Luffy called from the floor eyes still glued to the tv.
"We can all go I guess?" Sabo stood and grabbed his keys.
The five of you piled into Sabo's jeep. Luffy sandwiched himself between you and Marco in the back seat because Ace cheated and called shotgun from the kitchen.
The moment you arrived at the store it was chaos. Luffy climbed into a cart that Ace was recklessly steering.
"We're adults right?" You bumped Marco's arm.
"Some things never change yoi." He smirked.
Sabo split the list between himself and you agreeing to meet up at the checkouts in 20 minutes. Ace took off running hopping onto the bottom rack of the cart and riding it through the store nearly missing a child and a display of cans.
"No wonder you always look tired and Thatch has gray hairs." You chuckled to the older brother.
"Say that to his face." Marco laughed.
You could hear Luffy's cackle three aisles over.
"We're gonna get kicked out aren't we."
"Not if we hurry and pretend they don't belong to us yoi." He took control of the cart while you guided him through the aisles.
It didn't take too long for you to gather the items Thatch had scribbled down.
"I think that's it." You crossed the last item off triumphantly.
"I have to get one more thing from the pharmacy."
"I don't want to be with you when you buy condoms." You joked.
"Shut it." He deadpanned, "I'm not getting condoms."
You followed him down the pain reliever aisle to an end cap that was stocked with nicotine gum.
"He chooses life!" You snaked your arms around his torso pressing your forehead into his back as he reached for a sweet mint flavored pack.
"You said it was gross right?" He cleared his throat making you retract your arms.
A loud crash echoed through the neighboring houseware department.
"We gotta get outta here."

Ace almost always entered your room without permission.
Drawing your name out into a long irritating whine he threw himself on top of you. Your eyes snapped open in annoyance while you flailed under the comforter and your idiot best friend.
"God damnit Ace if it's earlier than 10AM I'm fucking kicking your ass." You grumbled.
"It's 9:32 yoi." Marco's voice called muffled by the door.
"Get uuuuup." Ace whimpered completely ignoring your threat and going limp so it'd be harder to fight his dead weight.
"Why are you awake right now? It's Saturday." You twisted yourself around to your back spreading your arms out.
Quickly you wrapped your arms (with the blanket) around the freckled idiot flipping him onto the mattress sitting on his chest victorious.
"What the hell F/N?!" He wiggled beneath you.
"You were warned. Now you must face - "
"N-no don't! I'm sorry!" He shouted.
"- the tickle monster!" You finished digging your fingers into his ribs and arm pits through the blanket.
"I- ah- h-hate yah-you!" He giggled and kicked eventually finding the strength to push you over.
"We're too old for you to just come in here whenever you want. I need privacy sometimes ya know?" You flopped down next to him taking your blanket back.
"Gross." He muttered, "I just wanted you to come out with us. You've been moping around for almost a month."
"So, let me mope. I just had my whole future turned upside down." You pulled the blankets over your face.
It had been three weeks since you beat Sanji up and you'd had zero contact. He still hadn't returned any of the belongings you had left at his apartment, some of which you really wanted but there was no way you were going back there anytime soon. Facing people was annoying; people who knew what happened gave you pitiful glances and clichéd advice while those who didn't know asked how he was sending your heart into a depressing spiral.
Now you were living out of boxes in the room you'd grown up in. Barely sleeping and having your obnoxious best friend invade your space without permission... just like high school. But you loved it here. It was home. And though you'd never admit to them you loved living with these loud idiots.
There was a light tap on the door.
"Hey F/N...you should probably come out front." Sabo said softly.
Ace had quickly passed out next to you.
So much for waking me up ass.
"Will no one in this house let me sleep?" You groaned.
"Uh.. Well Sanji is here." He added.
A gut clenching wave of nausea rolled over you as you sat up.
"Ace wake up dumbass." You swatted at his freckled cheeks.
"Wha - when did-"
"Shut up... Sanji is here." You choked on his name.
Ace shot to his feet while you rushed to make yourself look presentable. Dabbing concealer under your dark puffy eyes, you couldn't let him see how sleep deprived you were. Somehow it felt like he'd win if he saw what a mess he made you.
After braiding your hair and changing clothes you made your way to the front of the house. Ace taking confident purposeful strides at your side as you reached the screen door that lead to the porch. Marco and Thatch had already stationed themselves on the deck arms crossed and stone faced. Sabo stood nearby not quite as protective as the others. Ace pushed through the screen his balmy hand engulfing your wrist.
Your stomach fell again catching sight of the blue sedan. Marco glanced down at you offering a crooked smile.
" Seems he's too scared to get out yoi."
"I wonder why." You breathed palming his elbow.
The car's engine cut off drawing your attention back as Sanji stepped out cigarette hanging from his lips. That was a sight you hadn't witnessed since you'd become official. You didn't even have to nag him about it. He gave up smoking almost immediately. It was a rough couple of months and he substituted with constantly gnawing on a toothpick but you gladly accepted the trade.
Before you could will yourself to go down the porch steps Luffy came barreling out the door throwing himself over the rail that framed the deck.
"Saaaannnnjjjjiiiiiii!" He launched himself onto the blond causing the two eldest brothers to facepalm.
Seriously Luffy? He's the enemy.
You couldn't really stay mad at the youngest, though watching him cling to Sanji made you cringe. He is one of his best friends and Luffy is capable of existing passed the limbo of your differences and loving both of you.
"Oi Luffy - you disrespectful little -"
"It's fine." You hushed Thatch.
You took a deep breath before descending the small stair case.
"Finally bringing my things?" You asked breaking up the reunion.
Luffy stepped back grinning, "I'll help you carry your stuff F/N."
"Thanks honey, but I think I got it." You managed to smile at the raven.
"Uh yeah... Hey." Sanji muttered rubbing his neck, "I wasn't really looking forward to facing a firing squad."
"Yeah well you brought that on yourself." You shrugged, "Let's get this over with."
"Sure." He sighed opening the back door and pulling out a medium sized box.
You took it placing it on the hood of the car to rummage through and make sure he got everything. Some scarves, your favorite hoodie, flat iron, DVDs and books. Tucked into the very bottom corner were a pair of red lacy panties. Not only were they not your style they weren't even your size.
"These aren't mine." You stuffed them into the breast pocket of his pinstriped vest earning a chuckle from Ace, "There's a box in my room marked for this guy can someone get it for me?"
Without a word Marco dipped back into the house returning with a moving box labeled "Liar". He approached slowly, expression unreadable as he just dropped the box at Sanji's feet and turned to you.
"We've got to leave soon and you need to eat." He smiled picking up your box and heading back toward his brothers.
You stood awkwardly for a few moments trying to keep calm.
"Well if that's it." You turned away from the chef.
He caught your wrist, Marco and Ace bristled.
"I just really want to apologize. You didn't deserve that." He said softly smashing the cigarette with his boot.
"Well, I'm not much for forgiving right now so you'll just have to feel guilty for a bit longer if at all." You jerked out of his grasp, "You should go...these guys are pretty over it."
He sighed and slid back into the front seat as you climbed the steps trying to keep the tears at bay. Why did you still have to cry over this guy? You just wanted to be over it already. Ace held his arms out only to have them filled with your box of junk. Marco wrapped his arm around your shoulders and lead you back into the house. Ace shot Thatch an inquisitive look only to have the eldest shake his head and follow you inside.
"You really need to eat yoi. You're wasting away." Marco sat you down at the table with a plate of eggs and bacon.
"When did you worry so much over me?" You rubbed the mist from your eyes.
"Just eat."
"Can I promise to do it later?" You whined.
He slouched down in the chair beside you and leaned over just inches away from your face unamused.
"Ugh. Fine." You nibbled at the food suddenly feeling nervous under his lazy gaze, "Where are you guys going today anyway?"
"The beach!" Luffy cheered.
"Not really beach weather. Taking pops fishing?" You guessed.
"No he's over at Linlin's place on the lake this week." Thatch replied, "We just thought it'd be a good day trip, Luffy has been begging to go for a while."
You watched the youngest bounce around with bacon hanging from his lips.
"I think I'm gonna take a raincheck."
Ace let out a deflated sigh, "We want you to have some fun though."
"I know, and thank you, but I'm no fun right now. I don't even wanna hang out with me." You let out a dark chuckle.
"She can stay home if she wants." Marco defended making you shift beside him, "I'll just stay here with her. Koala is going so there's plenty of people to make sure the babies don't drown."
He was referring to Ace and Luffy who had never learned to swim but were drawn to water. It never made sense to you. You'd even offered to teach them – both just sank like rocks.
"You're one to talk." Ace scoffed.
"Yeah hypocrite pineapple." You chuckled, "You just wanted me there to lifeguard."
"Shut up yoi." He nudged you, "Don't fucking call me that."
You offered your best pouty face.
"Well whoever is coming get your shit together." Thatch called, "I'm leaving in 10 minutes with or without you."
After everyone left you sat on the sofa wrapped in your blanket channel surfing before landing on a movie you'd seen a few times. As you let yourself get lost in your thoughts Marco plopped down next to you.
"Are ya gonna stick to me all day?" You yawned.
"There's nothing else to do." He chuckled.
"Then make yourself useful." You nestled into his shoulder closing your eyes.
Marco crossed his arms settling into the sofa. A few moments later you were snoring lightly against him. You really hadn't gotten sleep it took almost no time for you to be completely unresponsive. Shifting a little he pulled you into his chest so that both of you were more comfortable.
"Sweet dreams." He murmured giving your scalp a soft kiss before drifting off himself.
A/N : Happy Birthday Pineapple! <3

The color drained from your face as you stared at the picture on your phone. It was posted that morning. The way the brunette cuddled up to him made your blood boil. Even if she was nothing, he fucking lied.
How many other dates were cancelled because he was out doing...whatever the fuck this is? How often was he not actually working? The phone tumbled to the table from your trembling had as you shot to your feet.
You needed to get to the bathroom.
"What the hell just happened?" Thatch turned watching you sprint out of the room.
"No idea." Marco muttered flipping your phone over, his half lidded eyes widening as he looked over the photo, "I'll kick his ass."
"Who? What?" Thatch crossed the room to look over his brother's shoulder, "Who's the broad? Wait...weren't they supposed to have a date last night?" He asked scanning the caption one more time.
Marco took a screenshot and opened your text fulling intending to send it to himself and take care of your Sanji problem.
"Don't." Thatch snatched the phone away, "I know you're protective but F/N has to decide what to do about this."
"If I kill him she won't have to worry about it." Marco growled.
"You aren't killing anyone. But you should probably go check on her." The brunette pushed him out of the kitchen.
Marco started down the hall that lead to the den passing the clusters of family photos, a lot of which you were in. Light spread against the linoleum in front of the bathroom door.
"Uh you OK in there yoi?" He asked pressing his ear to the wood.
You turned the knob leaving it slightly ajar. He took it as permission to enter quietly closing it behind him. You'd thought you were going to be sick instead you just stood there trying to remember how to breathe. Marco watched you huff for a moment before deciding to pull you into his chest. He hadn't given you an actual hug in a very long time. You assumed because he wasn't a touchy guy. Since the crush incident it was side hugs and light punches for you. But someone had to comfort you in Ace's absence.
"I wasn't trying to pry but I saw your phone." He murmured resting his chin on your head as you burrowed into his shirt.
"You guys warned me." You said weakly.
"I'm not here to gloat yoi." He began to sway, "You're an adult. He gave you every reason to trust him."
"I just feel really stupid." Your eyes began to burn.
"You? Stupid? Are you kidding? You're the smartest person in this house right now." He scoffed, "Look, I know you...love him, but Sanji doesn't define you. And he is definitely the stupid one here. You're just too precious and he doesn't know how to handle you."
"You have to say that." You whimpered.
"Says who? I also know what a shit you are. Don't forget that." A dry laugh squeaked passed your lips.
"Thanks Marco."
"So what do you wanna do about this yoi?" He placed his hands on your shoulders gently pushing you back to face him.
You stared up at his forever sleepy face, "I'm not sure. We were supposed to sign the lease for our apartment next week. And my lease is up on the 28th."
"You have a room here. Don't worry about that. I mean what are you going to do about him? Because I have a few ideas."
"No killing anyone... Yet."
"F/N!" Ace shouted from the kitchen.
Marco stepped back opening the door for you.
"Stop screaming idiot!" The blond called tugging you out of the room.
You were halfway down the hall when Ace scooped you up.
"I'll kick his ass." The ravenette muttered squeezing you tight.
"You guys have to let me get to him first."
_______________
"What the fuck is this?" You shoved your phone in the blond's face making him back into his apartment door.
His eyes widened in surprise, "Wha – what are you...."
"You lying sack of shit." You sneered.
It had been two days and you had only managed to get angrier.
"I-inside." He stammered fiddling with the door knob.
Ace and Marco sat in the car ready to intervene if things got too heated.
"Let me explain."
"I'd love to hear why you felt you could sneak around behind my back without me finding out." You jabbed a finger in his chest, "Be honest. Did I not give you enough? You think I'm an idiot?"
"N-no...of course not. I just..." His voice trailed off.
"What?" Your stomach dropped.
Maybe you didn't want to know the rest of what he had to say. You suddenly didn't want to have any of your questions answered. You weren't prepared for how much it would hurt.
Fight was fading away and flight was kicking in.
"I just ... don't think I can be with just one person." He lowered his gaze.
That was it?
Before you knew it your fist was colliding with his jaw sending him to the floor.
"Two years!" You reeled back for another blow.
He didn't flinch or shy away. He just took it.
You stood and stepped back wiping your face on your sleeve smearing your makeup.
"Just drop my stuff off at pops'." You breathed between sobs.
"I'm sorry." He whispered.
"Fuck you."
You slid across the back seat slamming the door and slumping over.
"What happened to your hand yoi?" Marco asked climbing over the front seat.
You weren't capable of responding. Your chest was constricting, squeezing all of the air out of your lungs.
Marco sat down laying your head on his thigh calmly rubbing your shoulders and back while you sputtered.
"You punched him yeah?" Ace chirped proudly glancing in the rearview as he shifted the car into gear.
You nodded.
Marco slouched out of his black flannel shirt and wrapped it around your bleeding knuckles, "Let's get you home yoi."

You sat quietly in your best friend's living room holding the game controller loosely in your hands which were resting lazily in your lap.
"I hate playing games with you guys." You groaned.
"C'mon F/N it wasn't that bad." Your best friend prodded your thigh with his toes.
"Ace." You deadpanned, "I died six times in a row. Luffy spends the whole time sneaking around behind other players so no one targets him and Marco shoots me almost immediately. Just a bunch of cheaters."
"I resent that-yoi." Marco called through the headset you'd forgotten was resting around your neck.
"Not talking to you!" You pouted yanking the headphone jack from the game system.
Heavy footsteps came bounding down the stairs. Ace sat up on the sofa handing you a throw pillow.
"C'mon F/N!" Once Marco was visible you chunked the pillow at his stupid face.
"You know better than to piss her off." Thatch commented following his brother down the stairs.
"Little shit." Marco grumbled.
"I know you aren't speaking like that about a woman, boy." A deep voice boomed from the den.
Marco paled, "Sorry F/N, I didn't know pops was home."
A beer bottle came sailing from the den shattering against the wall over Marco's left shoulder.
"My apologies lass, I didn't realize I'd raised such brutes." The enormous man emerged glaring at his son before turning a softer gaze to you.
"Thanks pops." You smiled sweetly, "I'll get him back later."
Ace was vibrating with laughter beside you.
"I'd expect nothing less." The old man chuckled flicking his blond son's forehead.
You'd practically grown up in this house. Ace had befriended you in sixth grade. When your father got a job that required a lot of travel Mr. Newgate was happy to take you in, insisting you call him pops like his adopted boys.
There were five brothers total. The two eldest Thatch and Marco were in high school when you met, Sabo is just a few months shy of being a year older than you and Ace, finally Luffy is the hyper active baby of the group. These boys may as well have been your brother's; no one messed with you once they came into your life.
Now in your early 20's you had a place of a place of your own but still spent most of your free time here. Your father moved to be closer to the central office of his firm a few years back. He'd wanted you to come but you just couldn't bear the thought of leaving these idiots behind.
Your phone whistled.
"The boyfriend beckons?" Ace asked watching you smile at the device in your hand.
"Yeah we have a date later." You murmured typing a reply.
You'd been dating Sanji Vinsmoke for the better part of two years now. You had your rough patches and fair share of arguments but you were happy with each other. The relationship didn't come without warnings from the brothers, knowing he was quite the ladies man before you got together. But he'd never given you a reason to question your trust.
Very recently he'd landed a job as a sous chef at a large restaurant in the city which drastically cut your time together; you didn't mind making changes to accommodate his dreams.
"One more game?" Ace nudged the controller back into your lap.
"Never again." You pushed it back, "I've gotta run some errands anyway."
"You're coming by tomorrow right?" He flopped back into the sofa as you stood.
"Of course, can't miss Sunday dinner even if pops if going out of town." He waved you off as you made your way to the front door.
Marco stood on the porch leaning over the rail puffing on a cigarette.
"This is where you're sulking." You teased.
"Nobody is sulking-yoi. You got me in trouble."
"You got yourself in trouble, with your big dumb mouth." You prodded his side, "And you should quit that by the way. You'll live longer."
"Sure sure." He muttered taking another drag.
"I'm serious. Besides, no girl is gonna want to kiss you if you taste like an ash tray."
"You used to want to kiss me ~" He teased referring to an embarrassing night when Ace had gotten ahold of your journal and read it aloud.
"I was young and stupid." You waved the flush of shame away.
When you were a freshman in high school you had a ridiculous crush on the blond. You were teased relentlessly for it until pops stepped in. Marco was the only one who didn't say a word, at the time anyway. Now he brings it up just to watch you be uncomfortable.
You both stood enjoying the afternoon breeze watching pops and Thatch load up the old pick-up parked in the driveway.
"Where's he going this time?" You asked absentmindedly bouncing shoulders with the blond.
"Fishing trip with Benn and Shanks." He replied smashing the unfinished cigarette into the banister, "Weren't you headed out to meet up with the pretty boy?"
"I wish you wouldn't call him that... but yes. I've gotta drop by Nami's place first so I guess I should head out." You checked the time on your phone.
"Dinner tomorrow." He reminded you wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
"Every Sunday for half my life. I haven't missed one yet." You smiled hopping down the porch steps.
Your phone whistled as you walked out of Nami's apartment.
Sanji: Sorry babe... got called into the restaurant.
You frowned. It was frustrating that his job was so demanding. You had seen each other maybe twice in the last seven days. And one of those days was only for about an hour.
Me: It's all good. Do what you gotta do.
Sanji: You're the best. Love you.
Me: Love you too.
On the bright side you had a good book and pajamas waiting for you at home.

"Smells amazing in here!" You called walking through the front door.
"Thanks F/N!" Thatch replied from the kitchen.
You followed the delicious scent setting your bags on the counter.
"I brought cake!"
"What kind?" Marco appeared behind you.
"Your favorite...since I got you in trouble yesterday." You poked his chest.
"She admits it!" He chuckled.
"Where are tweedledee and tweedledum?" You asked slouching into a chair at the kitchen table.
"Zoro's, they should be back in a couple of hours yoi."
You pulled out your phone scrolling through facebook when a post a mutual friend of you and Sanji liked popped up in your feed. You didn't know the person who posted it but it was a picture of your boyfriend sitting at a table in a restaurant next to a brunette woman you didn't recognize. The caption read, 'who we ran into last night."
Your stomach dropped. That definitely wasn't the restaurant he worked in.
"F/N?" Marco's voice was drowned out by your pounding heart.
