Before yesterday's UConn game, I went on a beer run. In "honor" of it being UConn, I got @buschbeer which was the beer of choice in my undergrad days. I found 30 packs, which I don't think I'd seen here in Canada but were the go-to while in school. 24 cans is a "case" in America and "two-four" in Canada, but we dubbed a 30-pack a "thwacker". Had the family over for Christmas breakfast and presents, which was really stressful on our little guy. Finished THE PALLBEARERS CLUB by Paul Tremblay and scratching my head how he did. Understated but emotionally draining. Several storytelling devices that should be gimmicks but work. A what/who/is there even a monster story at several levels. I first watched the original CANDYMAN on VHS in the early 90s. I don't recall too much except that Tony Todd was awesome, but before diving into the 2021 film I'm going back to rewatch the original. Spotted on Bank Street just south of Laurier in downtown Ottawa while walking home the other night. "ACCESSIBILITY" the sidewalk chalk says. I have no way of knowing the person's intention, but sidewalks, curbs, and crosswalks in downtown and Centretown are in rough shape. It can make them difficult or impossible for those with even moderate mobility challenges to use.
