You know, I really hate "x dollars a week" as a thing magazines or whatever frame stuff as
No asshole, tell me the actual price... old mmos didn't tell me shit in dollars a day, they told me the price per month like a real person, they told me x for 6 months, y for a year... you can do the same
Like looking stuff up and plugging it in a calculator it looks like there's 26 weeks in 6 months, so your current rate is $26 and you're normally... $162.5. Say that... also no I'm not paying for you newsite, sorry. I'm broke and you all kinda suck
Anyway, put it in people terms. Would it shock you to know I didn't know how many weeks in 6 months off the top of my head? ...would it shock you to hear I think you did that on purpose?
Just an annoying practice I wanted to complain about, that's all

You know what fantasy stories don't use enough? Different measuring scales, and confusion caused by them. Because before the metric system, practically every place and culture had their own measures for weights, lengths and distances. It would be fun to add that into a story for added realistic cultural confusion.
The average dwarf is four or five feet tall, but not in human measures. Yeah they're still shorter than humans but the dwarf foot (and the namesake measure of length) is bigger in proportion to their body. "Is that in dwarf feet or human feet?" is a common question to hear on construction sites, wherever human carpenters and dwarf masons are working together.
A dedicated local Common Misconception Historian has a pet peeve about the whole "princess Featherblade was only 12 years old when she led the attack on Marshland Halls" -myth, because the historical recordings on the human side are off. While she was remarkably young, that myth came about back in the day when humans were still trying to apply "dog years" to elves, and in an elven life span, 120 years is not a direct equivalent to a 12-year-old human.
A whole culture whose smallest unit of weight loosely translates to "about as much as an apple", and varies from region to region depending on the size of local apples. These people are famed for their alchemists, whose uncanny ability to simply measure their ingredients by heart, making their recipes essentially impossible to replicate. This famed skill is a matter of survivor bias - the ones that don't have that knack ten to explode into fine mist.

I've been reflecting a lot on community support and on how I was brought up.
My grandmother was a pillar in her small town community and mom followed in her footsteps. They both worked in the school system, in community theater, at the church, and at local non-profits. They're the kind of people who everyone in town knows. Because of this, they became central points of the community network and could connect people with the resources they needed. My mom can find someone with a truck for moving, power tools to lend, clothing to give away, or a printer to use. My grandmother traded music lessons for work and took young adults into her home when their family situations were bad. I learned to approach networking as a community of physical and social resources to utilize and to add to.
Sometimes, mutual aid comes from mutual aid-focused groups. Getting involved with organizations that focus on community support, like Buy Nothing/ freecycle groups, community gardens, ride-share programs, and many non-profits, can be an amazing way to give and recieve help when needed. But any community you are involved in expands your aid network. Your house of worship, the library's craft group, and your school's GSA can all be a source of mutual aid. Maybe someone in your apartment building group chat or your gardening discord needs help that you can give. It's suprising how many people can help fix your car problem, mail you some pepper seeds, or give you beeswax from their hives, if you just ask around. And sometimes the person needed is you. You could provide some money, scrap fabric, or experience with a certain legal process. You don't need to be at the center of your community network, but getting involved in anything will connect you to those who need help and those who can help you.

Well I was right about The Sting being a good movie, it's a movie about con men and I won't really say anything else about it cause it's one of those movies where it's actually worth not having it spoiled
I will warn that since it's set in the 1930's there's some racism in it, but I will say that it's only in the very beginning of the movie, and none of the actual main cast are racist in any way, but there's a full on slur
Looking back at the beginning, only finding two instances of it. Once by a mugger yelling at someone for helping a black man get his wallet back, once by that same black guy talking about why he couldn't go bigger as a con man. There's the exact context so you can make an informed decision
I think it's a good movie, literally everyone in the main cast likes Luther a lot... really can't say anything else without spoiling some important stuff, but yeah
No way I can recommend the movie without highlighting that

"If I'm not there by 1:45, I'm not coming" isn't the same thing as "If I'm not there by a quarter to two, I'm not coming", you can't just write whatever you want in captions even if it technically means the same thing
Second one (what was said) has a totally different feel, there's a reason that's what was said
Same thing when it comes to stuff on youtube where will caption a clip with "wtf" when it's like nah man, they said "what the fuck", you don't just get to sub stuff in
Captions need to be as exact as possible, full stop
It's important, you know?
