I don't even like their name that much

Everyone I was watching this with thinks I'm crazy

I don't even know how they weren't in the bottom two

but im sorry

I can hear the pitchiness

especially in nori's voice

their voices dont go well together in my opinion

I don't even like nori that much and she seems like a sweetheart

But this whole group kind of just feels like they took the three most popular, best looking girls.. with the best attitudes and personalities... Everyone just fell for the song.. by muni long. I don't know. I'm sorry. I don't buy it. It just all feels so fake to me this group i mean

like they all feel like personality hires to me IM SORRYYY OK?!

#5) Siren Society 　　　

At number 5, we have Siren Society.

I feel like everything they do is safe. That's just the vibe I'm always getting from them. My favorite member of this group is Erika. She just has such a kind personality. And quite frankly I don't remember anyone else's name from here.

They already look like a professional girl group to me, but that's it.

I don't think they picked the right song for showcase. Nicole herself said she thinks this group is 10 years behind. This group always gives off spice girl vibes to me I don't know why and I don't.. really listen to the spice girls that much so idk where my comparison is coming from either but lol

Like the don't cha song was just way too safe. They should've picked a michael jackson song since these girls can all dance. ooh like bad from michael jackson would've been so good- daymn i mean <3

yeah they dont really pick exciting songs imo

I just wished these girls took risks. Their always picking the safe songs are just

#4) Midnight 'Til Morning

For American Idol standards, yes, this performance would've goated im guessing

I know I compare this show to American Idol a lot. But at the end of the day, it's really not American Idol.

Vocally this group was incredible. They did one of my favorite songs of all time Iris by Goo Goo Dolls such justice.

I think the reason this group was in the bottom 2 was lack of choreography. They needed to dance. Even just a little bit.

I even wrote in my notes app for their billie eilish ocean eyes performance back in episode 5 "vocally i love it THOSE HARMONIES wish they did more choreo??"

And then the fact that Conor was so nervous for the live unfortunately read so strongly on camera.. Didn't really help the audience's opinion of them if I had to guess

#3) Sweet Seduction 　　

I'll be honest: from this point on it's all just about the performances for me

three divas who can sang

amazing vocals but this group won't last that long lbr

But performance wise it's just strong performance after strong performance

Personality wise, Alison definitely seems to be the most unbearable.

It's highly questionable as to why they even formed a girl group in the first place; probably just for the attention- they all seem like solo artists (probably the most insulting thing to say about a girl group i apologize however). Nicole even described them as "three Arianas"

My favorite performance from them was their very first one when forming band. Into You by Ariana Grande performance. etched in my mind. highly replayable

Their Anita Baker's Sweet Love performance was vocally so perfect I was so stunned and moved by it we all were

They're probably winning this whole competition

The only reason I could think of that they might not will come down to song choice we'll see

Their Usher U Remind Me performance in episode 6 WAS MY ALL TIME FAV !!! best performance in this entire series thus far

For Miguel Sure thing in the live they really stepped up their game a lot. Best ones in the house

But I always go back to the u remind me performance cause I loved the storytelling of it so much ! ♡ ♡ ♡

I really hope they win !! they're already the perfect boy band in my eyes at least lol 💖🫶💖

Introduction

Introducing my brand new hyperfixation: Building the Band on Netflix haha cause im such a netflix simp pls !

Making this post cause I have a lot of notes from the first seven episodes out of ten so far and... I think it'd be more organized if they were organized by band, and then we go from contestants from the band from there- Instead of what I have right now, which are notes organized by episode so !

I'm planning on ranking the bands from the ones I like the least to the ones I love the most. And we'll go from there. If this post ends up being too long I'll split this into two parts or more. Here we go !

Let me start off by saying this. could not've come at a more perfect time than this. Singing shows are kinda like crack to me lolol except for maybe The Voice after the audition rounds imsorrysomebodyhadtosayitimean

I love American Idol but uh

due to, let's just call it "personal reasons" 😉 aha. 🙃

I am not watching it this year

Probably watching it next year though.. Probably. Assuming "it" stays the same you know what i mean iykyk !

I would go as far as saying the only people watching American Idol this season are, ya know air quotes "those people" 🙄

I needed something that would fill the void that was not seeing American Idol this year, and this show definitely delivered; it scratched the itch. Satisfied the craving and then some.

CAN I JUST START OFF BY SAYING HAVING EPISODE 7 END ON A CLIFFHANGER WAS BEYOND CRUEL?!?!! Could've at least told us who got eliminated- god !

my best friend said that she thinks its the girls that will be saved, but im pretty convinced it'll be the boys

we will see

my argument is that the girls are just too safe, too boring

i wouldnt want to see another performance by them either personally

but my girlfriends are all saying because there was so much beef among the guys in the bottom 2 group they might head out, but i think that would add to much more strong drama later on in the series but we'll see

The other thing I wanted to add is that this show is kinda better than American Idol, in the recent years at least. It's mainly cause on idol i think they're sort of forced by their producers to be handing out 50 MILLION standing ovations.. for performances that don't really deserve it. And. Saying someone is Top 10 material.. to like a thousand contestants.

Really uhm... yeah. You know what I mean sksksk ! really sullies all their words

Focuses a little too much on the story, specficially sob stories when.. yeah. Screentime could be used more wisely in my opinion. But that's obviously a different topic for a different day.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'd like Alison irl either- I don't know. I think I'm just set in my ways of classic early 2000s Idol with the ridicule and the drama we'll see i mean

But this show is living proof you can have the vast majority nearly everyone from the contestants to the judges be such a kind sweethearts and it's still entertaining as fuck !!! this show is like crack to me now lol

So if you wondering where I was this past few weeks, I was with my family and friends, and their families, in a multi city trip from seattle, wa to several stops in alaska then canada.

Canada

LOVED Canada 🇨🇦 ♫ oh canada~! ♫ This year marked the third time I've been there. And I was like "you know what? i would love to live here. american politics is too insane and canadian politics is boring as hell i belong here" LOL

Such a beautiful country ! the people are so beautiful ! so kind and friendly

They clearly don't have the insane stress levels fight or flight mode we Americans have lbr

Then I heard things like how gas prices there are like $1 CAD per liter. And I was like "Oh ! that's not too bad actually" THEN our tour guide converted to American metrics and added "the fees"? even though Americans get gasoline shipped from Canada, Canada has to ship it back (?) or something

SO ITS LIKE USD $6 A GALLON?! aw hell no DX

Then I quickly learned how incredibly expensive FUCKING EVERYTHING is in canada.. And.. Although I'm not exactly proud ? of the US rn i mean

uhm.. im sorry. canada is just too expensive. at least usd is slightly stronger.

Seattle

Second time in Seattle, but technically my first.

Cause the first time I went to Seattle was due to a "connecting flight delay", for lack of a better term.

We hung out the airport, we stayed overnight at a hotel, and that's about it?

...Doesn't really count

OK IM SO SORRY but this definitely has to be brought up: I have never experienced so much racism in my life until I went to downtown seattle this year

I know in terms of my asian american experience, this isn't very unique. But I did grow up in a predominately asian american area... I went to high school with.. vast majority asians. I majored in the most asian thing on the planet in college, math. My line of work is asian dominated, tech ofc lol. Most of my interests are pretty much asian dominated too cause duh lol (anime, kpop, raves). Honestly, minus probably one sentence or so in this paragraph, I feel like most asian americans can say the same. asian canadians as well lbr

so yeah

when i say i experienced so much racism in downtown seattle i mean uh. yeah. its not a high bar BUT STILL ! 　　　

i think the only time we didnt experience racism at all in seattle was when we were at haidilao cause, ya know, we were at haidilao. no surprise, but everyone was asian there

and lastly im sorry but haidilao seattle >>> haidilao diamond jamboree irvine

the broths are just so much better

the customer service is too

the broths are kinda just awful and barely edible in irvine i had to be honest im sorry

they added too many spices in their broths in irvine, and i dont know why

but i digress ! thedessertsarebetterinirvinethoughlolol

(i think we just came on a bad day that one time we went to irvine tho i'll be honest. so, slightly unfair review. but that being said i have no intention of going back so ! lololol)

on a positive note, seattle had the most impressive souvenirs out of all three locations ! actually high quality, well crafted, and fairly priced as well so yes expect souvenirs from only seattle my friends & loved ones <3 (despite it all lmao)
