I think Ill probably read Seasons 1 - 3 of Masquerade Kiss - since the Switch version only has 1 - 2, theeeen ill go for Season 3 on L365. Then whenever there’s a bonus Hearts campaign, I’ll read some of the others.

And maybe by then there will be guides on the best way to save hearts and get the most out of the stories.

Anyways! So far, I’ve been really enjoying Masquerade Kiss. It has much better stories/writing/characters than Destind! I decided to start with Boss, since I like going from the last character of a menu to the first one.

I have just finished Season 1 of Boss. The MC has been much more proactive than Voltages other MCs in L365, at least I think so. And one of my main questions is - is this Lady Bordens ice cream actually that good? I know there is a Bordens Ice Cream and now I’m wondering.

Ice cream aside, I really like this MC and I’m wondering if she stays this great. Since I know that MCs can start getting written… not quite badly, but gets some of their badassery taken away in later seasons.

I’ve officially started Masquerade Kiss and I’m going in blind, aside from some scenes I’ve seen on tumblr - like the three guys sitting 5 feet away from each other in a hot tub/or sauna.

Question is, which of them are canon-LI coded? Voltage may deny it, but we all know certain characters are so canon-coded - like Eisuke Ichinomiya or Leon.

Also, why does Kei have so many more stories than the others? I thought Kazuomi was the big name in MK, but Kei seems to have way more stories.

And if anyone happens to have a guide on later installments in the series in order to save Hearts, I’d really appreciate it! Think I only found up to season 3 of that.

After I finish up Destind on the Switch, I plan on delving into Masquerade Kiss!

Which, if I end up really enjoying it and falling into reading Love Choice… not sure how I’d feel about that. Because the story seems interesting! But… love choice.

I feel like I’ll hear “One of us! One of us!” On a certain side of tumblr.

It’s one reason I HAVENT started it yet. Because I know I’ll fall into the rabbit hole. And I’ll probably really enjoy it.

I've officially finished up Araya's storyline in Destind, and he is so much more interesting and fun than Rei was! Allllthough, I do enjoy characters that are... questionable personality wise.

The fact that he lied to the MC, buying an account that was 99% compatible with her while he was only 30%. That he has been in love/obsessed with her since they were in high school, that they had different tastes in things, and he hired an actress to act like she was his ex. All of it was interesting! And the fact that her former love popped up again.

He also had a lot of personality compared to Rei, though not as much as Voltage's older Titles had. He kinda reminded me of Shinobu Narita, from Serendipity Next Door?

Something that is missing from Destind, is the side characters and the fact that the other LIs, don't really appear? Normally, Voltage Titles have a group dynamic going on - like the Bidders in KBTBB or the Neighbors in SND. But, Destind doesn't have that. Which is kinda, sad since that is where a lot of the comedic moments and sorta found-family happen.

Not sure how I should feel about my most popular post, as of now, is about Chizuru having a blood/biting kink.

Wondering what that says about me… I mean, I’m not surprised. Next thing I know, I’ll get asks “Meowiarty, what do you think Rei Rindohs kinks are?”

So far, I’ve finished Reis entire route in Destind! My thoughts? Kinda boring.

Nothing against him, but he comes across as too perfect, and it’s boring. Most of his routes just seem to be repetitive. They put a lot of emphasis on their 99% compatibility and other than that? I don’t feel like they have much to their relationship. They have the same taste in food, in mattresses, in liking animals. But that seems like it’s it.

There was also a surprising lack of Voltages drama that I’m used to. Most of it was very internal? It was so focused on MC and her work, and Rei just sometimes… disappeared? It felt like. I’m surprised his ex girlfriend didn’t pop up at any point.

I’m hoping the other guys have something more to them than Rei did.

Taking a break from the angst known as Hakuoki. So I’m now going to play some Destind: Mr. Almost Right!

Or is it Destined and the Switch misspelled it? Or is it intentionally Destind?

I do wonder why they don’t really go into the demon lore in Hakuoki. They introduce them, they say that they’re different than humans - stronger, faster, heal quicker. And they have horns.

But how else are they different than humans? Do they age slower? Do they live longer? Do they have more powers than just being physically stronger/faster/heal quicker?

If they DO live longer, then most of Chizurus love interests and routes are more tragic than they already are, since Furies will die much quicker than Chizuru. She’ll be left alone for god knows how long. Possibly not even aging that much while her LI would age. Or do Furies not age before they turn into dust?

Speaking of horns - is there a purpose for them? Do they have horn care? In the demon world, is it like the longer your horns, the more powerful you are? Do kids automatically have horns like from birth or do they earn the horns?

I’m sure people versed in Japanese myths and literature have explanations for this. So, let me know!

Also, while playing Hakuoki, I always get the meme of Hijikata going “It’s dangerous to go alone, take This” while giving the LI Chizuru like she’s a walking talking blood bag.

Which is a great title and one of my favorites. Also, was one of my first Voltage titles. If you’re curious about it, I recommend trying it since 7 episodes are free currently!

People who have read/played Hakuoki SSL - Sweet School Life, is there more sibling-relationship scenes between Kaoru and Chizuru in the game?

Because I love sibling relationships in otome. Plus, since it’s a more modern setting, I’m hoping it has some Kaoru encountering Chizurus LI scenes. Like Finis and Cardia in fandiscs, or Kazuki and Ichika.

So, I’m hoping when it’s released it’ll have those kinda scenes, or doesn’t it?

It’s so hard not to laugh at the blood drinking, because for some characters they haven’t even confessed, and Chizuru is over here talking like it’s foreplay out of absolutely nowhere.

Aside from Chizurus 50 Shades of Vampire, they really did overuse the Furies and blood kink. They should’ve gone with - Half of the 12 LIs remaining Human and half being Furies. It’d shake things up and not be so repetitive.

My opinion the Humans/Demons should’ve been - Saito, Shinpachi, Chikage (which my phone tries to turn into Chicago), Harada, Souma, and Iba.

Which leaves - Hijikata, Okita, Heisuke, Sanan, Yamazaki, and Sakamoto as Furies.

I literally forgot about Ryouma for a bit! Do I have real reason for who I choose and for what? Kinda.

So Okita, Heisuke, and Sanan - already mostly chooses to drink it to continue living. Hijikata, I believe it’s makes sense, he helped bring the Furies into the world - so it’s only right for him to become one.

Yamazaki and Sakamoto, aren’t really in the story since they’re added in late. But I feel that Yamazaki could work well with the bitter storyline that Shinpachi had. Meanwhile, Sakamoto is an interesting one since he’s far apart from the Main Story.

Back to Iba for a bit! But I feel like they could’ve made him a Half-Demon, instead of a Fury. He gets a Demon Arm, so maybe Senhime could’ve done like a blood transfusion or something, leading to Half-Demon Iba? It’d also be a route with some more demon lore.

Now humans/and single demon. Harada and Chikage don’t really need explaining it’s canon.

Saito, I don’t really have a reason for. Shinpachi - he’s established to hate Furies and so he’s not drinking the Blood Water.

Now Souma! I feel like he shouldn’t be one. He’s already basically falling into Hijikatas footsteps in his route, but I feel as the second Commander, he should want to step away from Fury-ness. So he doesn’t take it.

Here’s a funny fact about me when I first started playing Hakuoki years ago.

Any time they said “Furies” or “Fury” - I read it as “Furries” or “Furry”

Which…. These are supposed to be monsters. Villains, even. And little Meowiartys reading voice would say “Furries!”
