I think I want to explain my au for anyone who comes across my page and asks themselves “what the hell is sea of forgotten memories?”

Sea of Forgotten Memories is no abilities school au following the plot of Blank Dream.

For people who don’t know what Blank Dream is, it’s a rpg maker horror game from 2015, made by Kanawo.

This au starts with a 16 year old Dazai, finding himself in a purgatory like world after committing suicide. He wakes with no memories of anything, including his death, why he killed himself, or even his name.

Of course, I’ve changed things from the base game to fit my au. Though, it’s a very dark story it’s been a project of mine for the last several months and I’m very happy to be able to make something like this after putting off publishing on ao3 for a long time.

current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.
