If it wasn’t obvious, I’ve basically gone back on hiatus.  I can’t promise that I’m going to be coming back, either – staying off tumblr has reduced my stress tremendously.  I’m still actively RPing on the RP Nexus Discord server, so feel free to stop by if you want to join in.

PS: The server is 18+, but please don’t take that to mean that it’s a smut server.  It’s just a place for adults to RP without having to worry about minors.

“I’ll rewatch the videos and write them down,” there was a nod before the plate was set in front of her and she eagerly started tucking in, “Mmhh~!” And not that Thalia would ever complain. Foods tasted too good to not want to eat, and helping make them was just as fun.

Noele quietly joins Thalia in having a nice lunch, taking a bit longer to finish than her daughter.  “Well, that hit the spot.  Honestly, I don’t know how I ever got along before Echo was around to cook for us all,” she says.

“You basically lived on a combination of take-out and microwave dinners,” comes the voice of Tempo, stepping into the kitchen to use the sink to refill her teakettle.  “Anything else took up too much of your time, or so you said.”

“Exactly.  And I’m not sure how I survived those awful times.  I could have died of starvation!  Why don’t either you or Synth know how to cook?” Noele asks, feigning offense.

“Because you never programmed us for it,” the eldest LMN answers, before closing the lid on her teapot and walking over to give her little sister a side-hug.  “Keeping Mom company today, Thalia?”

As Comet kept talking, Diggy’s face started souring and her back arching as though she had bitten into a lemon and wanted nothing more than to crumple into a little ball of garbage for it. The older AI’s words had a noticeably sour taste to them, for that matter, because somehow, they seemed to have been crafted to slap her in the face. Diggy was a few things. Stubborn was one of them. Stubborn to the point she couldn’t recognize that negative traits being pointed out potentially concerned her as well, not so much. She let Comet shimmy away with a half-hearted wave, before slowly turning to Echo with a squint.

“Well, first order o’ business, scraping me’ pride off the floor with a spatula.” Diggy piped up with a hoarse, whistling voice before coughing, shaking her head before perking up. “Well, unless ya’ got some chores fer’ me ta’ help with… ah’ could always try ta’ kick yer’ butt at vidjagames, or… what DO ya’ even do when chillin’?”

Echo looks a bit sheepish.  “Eh, I only have the one computer.  It’s not really set up for multiple people to use when gaming,” she explains.  “It is not like a console where I can just plug more controllers in.  It was designed for online multiplayer.  I do not play in ranked matches because robots are not allowed, but I play many first-person shooter games.”

“And thankfully, I have no more work to do today.  I assume that will change once the new robots are online, but...for now, I can relax for the evening.”

“I’m not planning anything.  After what Knight Man pulled last year, it’s somebody else’s turn to host the party.“

“But Halloween is your favorite holiday!  You’re not just going to stay home, are you?”

“Of course not.  I’ll probably spend it with people I know I can actually trust.  Comet and Centaur are already planning to take Thalia trick-or-treating, so it’s not like I need to be here.”

Marino doesn’t particularly need the subtitles to follow along, so she looks away long enough to reach into the mini-fridge and pull out a bottle of water.  “Here ya go,” she says, handing the bottle over.  She props her feet back up once Cinnamon takes the bottle and watches the explanation of the dragons’ departure.  Hmm...

“I think so. The disc box said featuring the actress from movies such as Blood Dragon and Cry me a Sea Dragon,” said Cinnamon while looking at the box and set the subtitle on and started the movie up. The movie started off with a black screen follow by some suspense Asian music.

“I guess these actors get around,” she says, reaching over to her mini-fridge and pulling out a drink.  “You need a beverage while I’m in here, Cinn?  It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.”

I’m really not trying to ghost you all, I swear.  I think it’s time for me to admit that I’m just not going to be spending all day, every day on tumblr and replying to things at lightning speed anymore, though.

A lot of it boils down to the fact that I’ve gone from playing one tabletop game every Saturday to playing multiple games throughout the week and GMing a game every Sunday.  Hell, just GMing one game takes up about as much of my time as playing in all the other games combined.

I’m still always around on Discord (Meridia#5737) if you want to bug me, though, and I’ll be posting replies here whenever I have the time and energy for it.

They always look so fluffy when the bakers finish making them.”

“Well, make up a list of what ingredients you’ll need, and I’ll add them to the shopping list the next time the girls go out for groceries,” Noele says, taking the now-cooked food back out of the microwave and plating it up for the two of them.  “Here you are, dear.  Eat up -- you need your energy, after all.”

Granted, most of Thalia’s energy came from solar power, but her brain still needs old-fashioned calories in order to function.  Not that she says anything to that effect, of course.

Dax had been built specifically for the combat role he’d been put to, and had spent most of his time since activation in one force or another. He could, if he tried, almost just barely imagine what kind of life he’d live if he wasn’t helping the good fight. As if choosing to go into combat on her own wasn’t enough: Dax couldn’t help but respect anyone fighting for the underdog.

He rubbed at the back of his neck a moment, collecting himself. “You know, after the Repliforce war, even after the truth came to light…there was still a lot of distrust. There were enough of those that didn’t find it convincing enough that myself and the other survivors I know wouldn’t have been able to find work, or purpose, or possibly even a safe place to just exist. Except for some people who took it on themselves to try and fight for that fair shake. Who saw that we were being left behind and put themselves out to try and stop that.”

Maybe he was rambling a bit. He better make his point before he gets distracted and starts gushing about one helper in particular. “What I mean is, as someone who was on the receiving end of help from people of your mindset…Thank you.”

“Oh, er...you’re welcome,” she says, still reeling a bit from his story.  She hadn’t lived through that time period, and the reality of life in the post-Repliforce years hadn’t really been communicated well into the 23rd century.  She’d imagined that it was bad for those remaining members of the Repliforce, but she hadn’t guessed that it would be that bad.  “I’m sorry that you all had to go through that.  Especially when so much of it was just...I dunno, a big misunderstanding?  Stubbornness?  Whatever it was, it didn’t have to end the way it did.”
