youllalwaysbemyporcelain — molly montgomery.

Molly had loved performing back in London. They wouldn’t admit it, but they had really missed it. After over a year of not performing in front of anyone, she had decided to finally get back on stage. She couldn’t help how nervous she was as she held her guitar. They had a while before they had to perform, so they’d found a place to sit and practice. She looked up from her guitar to see someone in front of her. “Hello. Did it sound okay?”

to be honest, kirsten wasn’t that into music.  aside from it being vaguely pretty and understanding the mathematical theory behind it, she just didn’t really get the appeal.  maybe it was because it had something to do with time and her temporal dysplasia made it so she couldn’t feel the passing of time, or maybe it was because it was meant to evoke emotions she never really understood.  either way, as she stood before the other while lurking around and gathering information, she felt frozen, sure she was going to say the wrong thing.
“uh, hi.”  she awkwardly tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.  “i wasn’t really listening, but i guess it wasn’t bad, if that’s what you’re wondering.”

“hate to break it to you, love, but i wasn’t being serious.” maybe she’d had one too many vodkas or something, which she shouldn’t have done given that she was pretty sure she’d had a shift, last she remembered, but it sort of came with the territory, working in a pub. in her defense, it was the holidays, and her stepmum was the landlady, she was hardly going to get fired. something weird had certainly gone on, for washington was about as far from manchester as a person could get. “you don’t seriously believe in all of that, do you?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“yeah, i know that.”  still, her face was far too serious and her voice just as flat.  she didn’t even look at the other as she spoke.  she simply looked past the other at her surroundings.  then, she blinked and continued to look past her.  yeah, okay, she definitely wasn’t still stuck in a stitch and she definitely wasn’t in sunny california.  what the hell?  “why not?  do you have a better explanation?”

“bit weird, isn’t it?” understatement of the century right there. it was more than a ‘bit’ weird to find herself in an entirely different continent, well aware she wasn’t supposed to be there, feeling far more out of place than she ever had when she was younger. “here, i mean. being here. not exactly something that happens every day, is it?” she couldn’t exactly wrap her head around it, and she was sincerely hoping she might have found someone who would get it. women never seemed to like her all that much, but hopefully extenuating circumstances would help her out here. “you reckon this might be one of those shared fever dreams you hear about? pretty sure there’s no other explanation for it, is there?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
weird was definitely one way to put it.  one minute she swore she was in the lab in california about to stich into someone’s memories, the next she was stuck here on the other side of the country.  most frustrating of all, though, was that she still couldn’t place when it happened.  she could chalk it up to her temporal dysplasia causing her never to know the passing of time, but she knew it was more than that.  weird?  no, it was almost laughable.  little did the other know just how well kirsten knew what it was like to share another’s literal fever dream.
“i guess it could be,” she replied, almost too seriously.

“tell me you didn’t see that,”  arnold sighed, looking up at the person above him.  it was embarrassing to keep falling over and over again in front of all these strangers.  thankfully, he wasn’t the only person out here struggling.  “in my defense, christmas is in summer in australia.  i’ve never really ice skated much before.”   /  @hiddenstarters

“okay...but i did...” she replied rather flatly.  to the average person, it was probably pretty obvious that he was embarrassed, but kirsten had never been very good at reading into things like that.  she didn’t even offer a hand to help him up.  she just stared at him, unsure what he wanted from her.  “why are you ice skating anyway?”

Was that [EMMA ISHTA]? Oh no no, that was just [KIRSTEN CLARK], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [STITCHERS]. They are [TWENTY SIX] years old, use [SHE/HER], and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long. {ooc: ro, 29, cst, they/she}
how long has your character been here
kirsten has been in washington dc for a few months
what is your character's job**
kirsten is a student getting her masters in computer science
where has your character been pulled from in their fandom
i’m pulling her from around mid season one/maybe early season two before she really starts to figure out what happened to her mom and family in general. she’s starting to learn more about herself, others’ emotions, but it’s still something she’s figuring out, which causes her to be rather blunt sometimes.
has any magic affected your character
not at the moment
and any other information you might find useful for us and the other members to know!!
kirsten has a condition called temporal dysplasia, which causes her to not know what the passing of time feels like. she only understands it as a mathematical concept and through observation of others. because of it, she has a hard time understanding others’ emotions and doesn’t have her driver’s license.
prior to coming to dc, kirsten worked in a secret government project that was part of the nsa called the stitchers program where she could stitch into the memories of the recently deceased to figure out what happened to them and solve their murders.
