Silver, The Knight of Dawn and "Sole, Luna, e Talia"

A while ago I came across a tweet on X where the writer was disappointed because Silver's dad has the same face as Silver and accused twst for being lazy (and maybe some of you have been thinking this way as well). But here I have a feeling this is yet another subtle "Easter egg" as tribute to "Sun, Moon and Talia", a literary fairy tale in which it was an inspiration to the original Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault (which later Perrault's version is the main inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty)

From the main story, particularly from Lilia's dialogue when he found and blessed baby Silver, Lilia said "The golden hair that shines like sunlight was caused by the blessings of the day" and Silver's hair turned to be silver colored as if it had been "lit by the moonlight with the night blessing"

"Sun, Moon and Talia" also has a similar synopsis to the Sleeping Beauty we know as this was what inspired the original "Sleeping Beauty"

However, it's widely known that most Disney fairy tales are from folktales all over the world. And those folktales are really dark that Disney must revise them so the animation would be acceptable and safe for children. (Like the Evil Queen in the original Snow White who danced wearing red-hot slippers in the prince's and Snow White's wedding until she dies for example). Sleeping Beauty is without exception, as its darker version, "Sole, Luna e Talia" tells about the "Sleeping Beauty" (Talia) who got r4ped while she was under the curse and gave birth to twins, which she named as Sun and Moon"

And of course twst also knew it wouldn't be appropriate if they wrote book 7 and included something about r4pe somewhere inside of it, so instead of writing the "Sun" and "Moon" as baby twins, they used the same baby (baby Silver) to represent both Sole and Luna with the changing color of his hair, and also purposely make both Silver and Knight of Dawn like twins, with Knight of Dawn represents as the "Sun" and Silver as the "Moon", even Silver's name was inspired from the moonlight itself.

Personally I admire how twst team revised a once inappropriate and dark folktale about a sleeping beauty that was r4ped by a lustful king becomes a story about family bond beyond time and blood ties that can make you cry...and I wish they will continue their work this way and exceed my expectations.

Hi! I love reading your theories and I’ve been working on a super in-depth theory for Kuroshitsuji based on certain ideas from logic/psychology developed in the manga starting from the first story arc (Jack the Ripper). So it was exciting to see that you doing something similar on the TWST side of things too with those math ideas from its inspiration works!

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to discuss further about the parallels between the theories and Kuroshitsuji/TWST as a whole. Also if you haven’t already, I would highly recommend reading Rust Blaster (Yana’s one volume manga before Kuroshitsuji) since it has major parallels to TWST that might overlap with some of your points too!

I used to read kuroshitsuji 10 years ago but now I never check it out again so except for a new anime where Ciel disguised as a student and Sebastian as Professor I don't really know the latest update. Last time I checked was that one chapter where Ciel was investigating the places that had blood supplies for his twin brother and that's that...

I will admit I'm not all that knowledgeable, but as Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland revolved around the Victorian era, I might be able to provide one or two fun facts about Victorian era since I did my own research on it for twst since two years ago

This might be just me, but every time someone points out there's something odd about this, I have a feeling that there's actually more than just animation = age of the dorm. It subtly hinting to the history of Disney in general.

Fun fact, what inspired and drove Walt Disney to create so many fairy tales animations that we know of so fondly was the one children's book from his childhood time that was very popular among scholars and often being read to many children during bedtime : Alice in Wonderland (and also its sequel : Through The Looking Glass)

This was also the reason why Walt Disney's very first project and Disney company's starting point was Alice's Comedies which was inspired from said children's book

He was actually planning to create Alice in Wonderland first but abandoned the project halfway and created Snow White, which later became Disney's most popular animation along with Sleeping Beauty, his project after Snow White. After his success from several of his animations, he continued again the Alice in Wonderland project he previously abandoned and later turned out to be the Disney Alice in Wonderland animation that we know (which was actually the "fusion" of both Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass)

Disney Alice in Wonderland was a success. However, even Disney himself wasn't satisfied with it because he felt the result was very different from what he intended to as a tribute to Lewis Carroll and said there's no soul in it.

In addition to that, there's (what I think) a slight hint to this : Crowley's SSR buddies

His buddies represent Alice in Wonderland (Deuce), Snow White (Vil) with Grim (which I guess from Through The Looking Glass as Mickey's Thru The Mirror was inspired from Lewis Carroll's Through The Looking Glass) as the duo buddy. (More explanation about this can be read from here)

So frankly speaking, "all the Disney animations that we know of so fondly would never exist if it weren't for Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland" And honestly? I have a very strong feeling that this fact would play an important part for chapter 8 if there really is a "ramshackle chapter"

Because if it really is like this, then "Ramshackle Dorm" is really that "ghostly" dorm that isn't really any part of the seven official dorms, but it has always been there, holding everything together that without it, everything is ceased to exist.

iirc ramshackle might be older than nrc? pomefiore's the oldest dorm, and snow white is the oldest disney movie, so we can assume that the dorms were founded in the order their respective movies were released. but the thru the mirror short is older than snow white

Yes, I mentioned Pomefiore's age in this post! Though it has yet to be confirmed in official materials, if we assume that the release date of the associated Disney animation represents the age of each dorm, that means the dorms, in order of youngest to oldest would be:

Ignihyde (Hercules, 1997)

Savanaclaw (The Lion King, 1994)

Scarabia (Aladdin, 1992)

Octavinelle (The Little Mermaid, 1989)

Heartslabyul (Alice in Wonderland, 1961)

Diasomnia (Sleeping Beauty, 1959)

Pomefiore (Snow White, 1937)

Ramshackle (Thru the Mirror, 1936)

What’s weird is that TWST tells us very explicitly that Pomefiore is the oldest dorm, even though Ramshackle is also said to be a dorm (there’s dialogue implying students used to be housed there). This results in a contradiction because if we assume the year the animation came out indicates how old the dorm is, Ramshackle should be considered the oldest, not Pomefiore.

So… either the animation year = age of the dorm assumption is incorrect (because, to be fair, this is a theory and not confirmed by the game), or there is a technicality in-universe which strikes Ramshackle from the running. Maybe Ramshackle didn’t start off as a dorm and only became one further down the line after Pomefiore was already established?? Or maybe since it fell into ruin it’s no longer a dorm to be compared to the other “active” 7??? There’s still a lot we don’t know about Ramshackle, so any of these ideas are equally as likely.

Buddy Bonus Calculator Update

With Crowley's HP Regen (Continuous Heal) that affects not only himself, but also his chosen ally, the Buddy Bonus Calculator needed updating.

And then before I could finish the post on Crowley's HP Regen, the game dropped Chef Grim for the anniversary with heals on both his spells.

As before, the yellow squares can be edited once the worksheet has been downloaded.

The left portion is similar to before, with the addition of a "Crow Heal" box. Since Crowley will not only heal himself but also the ally that comes with him, there will always be an "optimal" person to pair with him. The Crow Heal box will show

How much HP they will regenerate in total if they are chosen alongside Crowley's heal, and

Whether or not they would net you the highest possible heal out of the 4 cards.

The center portion (no change) allows you to add the buddy levels of the cards you choose. The Yes/No and HP/POW will automatically appear when the cards are decided.

The right portion now allows you to add the magic levels of your card. It will also state which magic has the Heal effect, so theoretically, you only need to change the level of the Heal magic to affect this chart.

The total box at the top now shows the Heal you should expect to get, and the "Max Heal" you could possibly get if Crowley is paired with the optimal card in the team.

But as these four topics are related I'll make small notes since the second and last one are actually the most complicated topics out of all.

With newest twst update, it confirmed some of my suspicions (like Malleus's UM which is actually the same as the curse/magic on Grim like the analysis I did here and so on) and after I finished my research on Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass here are some theories I'm still working on. But I'm curious which from all of them you are curious about and want to know the most so I made a pool for reference. Don't worry, I'll write all of them eventually.

A Hint from Crowley SSR?

I just noticed it yesterday the fact that his buddies represents Alice in Wonderland (Deuce), Snow White (Vil) with Grim (which I guess from Through The Looking Glass) as the duo buddy reminds me the fact that Disney's first project was actually Alice in Wonderland but later his first movie was Snow White just like what this kind anon mentioned a long time ago from my ask box.

When you think about it, deuce is the highest rank card that beats royal card in German deck which in this case, Deuce beat Vil in Pomefiere chapter the Chapter of Snow White a fairy tale originated from Germany. Which is actually in the same way as how Alice beats the Queen of Heart by becoming the highest rank card (and also the same concept as how Ace beats Riddle which represents Queen of Hearts) which I did the analysis a while ago here.

Besides it's already confirmed in game that Ramshackle, particularly Yuu's room is the same as Mickey's room from Mickey Thru The Mirror which actually heavily inspired from Lewis Carroll's Through The Looking Glass

Soooo is this a hint for chapter 8 in the future? ....this is REALLY interesting...

Hey i want to point out something here. (if you don't mind! ) but Walt Disney was very interested by Alice Wonderland book, he made a series (Alice's Comedies) who was his "first" work (even he made 5 little short before...) and a point he created his company (which is celebrating 100 years right now! Coincidence? ) which they are two characters (a little creature and Alice) who looks like Grim and Yuu, more later, he wanted to create an Alice movie instead of Snow White movie! ( https://lostmediawiki.com/Alice_in_Wonderland_(partially_lost_original_draft_of_Disney_animated_film;_1939 ) it was dark and at the end of the movie, alice is carried away by one of the executioners with the red queen who wanted to cut off his head ( https://lostmediawiki.com/File:Off_With_Her_Head.jpg ), so they scrapped and put back later in 1951 with new ideas, Walt disney wanted on one of his interviews to be the white knight. (which parallel with Lewis Caroll role in the book.), but scrapped that idea. (since he's twisted from Walt Disney.) and they defetively put tons of details in his presence in the game. Like the lonesome ghosts was based on the comic "the seven ghosts" in reality. Hello anon! Sorry it took me for a while to reply your message because you just gave me information I didn't know and I need to arrange my thoughts to answer your message properly, because I think you might have solved one mystery of Twisted Wonderland!

I didn't pay attention to Disney's side of Alice in Wonderland because all twst analysis and theory that I did previously are only based on Lewis Carroll's work. What you pointed out anon, it all makes sense now why Ramshackle dorm, the dorm that I suspect to be the dorm of Through the Looking Glass is older than Pomefiore but somehow also forgotten. It's because Alice Wonderland was supposed to be Disney's first movie and was actually the starting point of Disney company, even it's already there far before Snow White or even Mickey.

I get it why Disney was so obsessed with Alice in Wonderland that it became his first work out of all and revived the discarded idea of making a movie of it back after the enormous success of Snow White. As someone who love Carroll's Alice in Wonderland series and know some answer to the riddles in it, I want to say there's a reason why Alice in Wonderland (and it's prequel Through the Looking Glass) is one of the greatest books of all time in the world. For those who doesn't know, it's just a children book full of nonsense but for those who knows the secret behind it and at least managed to solve some of the riddle, they'll know that Alice in Wonderland is like a time capsule keeping a lot of secret information behind it, unscathed by time. From math, to mythology, to alchemy, to theology, even culture at that time, everything is there as the logic behind it that built nonsense called Alice in Wonderland itself.

I suppose in the past Disney tried to replicate what Carroll did and revived it as a movie but although it was one of his successfull movie, the critics and even Disney himself was not satisfied by it. It's because Disney himself said the "Alice in Wonderland" that he made doesn't have a heart at all. Even decades after he died, when live action Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass was made, it wasn't even as satisfying in the eyes of critics even though the graphics was admittedly incredible.

We can say that all this time, Disney's versions of Alice in Wonderland are all a failure because even though it's good, it's still not good enough to do Lewis Carroll's work justice. So when there's a rumor saying "Twisted Wonderland was supposed to be released for celebrating the birthday of Disney company" and from what you said anon, if it's true then that's very sweet of Disney JP to pay tribute to both Lewis Carroll and Walt Disney and even tried to fullfil Walt Disney's lifetime wish that was failed to become reality. This is the best gift Disney JP could give to its founder and they did a right choice hiring Yana as she did her job really well of doing Lewis Carroll's work justice in my opinion by re-creating Wonderland of her own version, a world full of wonder that would make us question what's going to happen next after we read the story accompanied with beautiful graphics. She did what the predecessor of Alice in Wonderland couldn't do, and in my eyes, that's very incredible.

And lastly it's just my opinion, but you said "the lonesome ghost was based on the comic 'The Seven Ghosts' " but somehow I just have a feeling that 'The Seven Ghosts' might actually the main inspiration/concept of the seven dorm leaders who are overbloting since the ink monster behind them is called "Phantom". I don't know how to explain, but as we know a character in twst can be a combination of two or more of Disney character in a concept (like Idia for example, who is the combination of Hades and Megara), we can't dismiss the posibility that Yana used The Seven Ghosts as one of the concept for overblot.
